"Have a safe journey back home. Do come again if your master needs more servants." Fei Luo showed Lin Xuan Qi to the entrance with a big smile.
He bowed and rubbed his hands as he saw Lin Xuan Qi and Xue Cong getting further away.
"Are you hungry?" Lin Xuan Qi asked.
Xue Cong, who was a few steps behind him, lowered her head and nodded.
"Would master be angry if we do that?" she asked warily.
"Angry? No, why would he be." Lin Xuan Qi shook his head and said, "Follow me, I know of a stall with delicious meat buns."
He led Xue Cong to the stall where the plump man was.
The plump man was surprised at him coming back with a young girl. He frowned and thought that maybe Lin Xuan Qi was working for a master who owned the Lin Mansion.
And the master wasn't one who liked to show his face.
That was for sure as no one had seen him before.
"Young man, here for more buns?" the plump man asked.
"Give me ten buns," Lin Xuan Qi said, and he glanced over to Xue Cong, "Would that be enough?"
"It's... more than enough," Xue Cong replied.
She was fighting back her tears when Lin Xuan Qi handed her two hot steaming buns.
The aroma of the bun and meat first filled her nose as she brought one up to her mouth.
And the tender meat with seasoned soup inside the bun filled her mouth and taste buds when she took a bite.
She felt like she was in heaven.
But the next moment, she felt guilty for having that thought.
If only her family had the opportunity to savor such a treat.
Xue Cong shook her head and tried to get the thought out of her mind.
She was now property of her master. What would her master think if she still felt for her family?
And after all, they were the ones who sold her into slavery.
Lin Xuan Qi saw her shaking her head and he asked, "The bun is not to your liking?"
"No, it's good. It's just that I never had such delicacies before," Xue Cong replied and gave the plump man a smile, in case the plump man misunderstood.
"Got me worried there. Both of you can find me if you need any help. They call me Luo Bao," Luo Bao introduced himself.
"Thanks, Uncle Luo. I'm Lin Xuan Qi and this is Xue Cong. She will be helping me with the chores," Lin Xuan Qi replied.
Xue Cong nodded her head at Luo Bao.
They went on to buy many other things, eggs, noodles, rice, ginger and even brooms.
Xue Cong got into her role quickly, and she helped to bargain and carry the things, which was a pleasant surprise for Lin Xuan Qi.
He thought that she might need some time to get over the fact that she was a servant girl now.
Finally, they headed for the mansion when they were done buying all the things.
"What is the master like?" Xue Cong asked as they walked towards the mansion.
"Master? He is kind, talented, handsome and the best man you can ever find in the land," Lin Xuan Qi said teasingly.
"Really?" Xue Cong asked.
She was only half convinced.
The master must have been a kind person, letting Lin Xuan Qi spend money on meat buns for her.
As for being handsome, she wouldn't know until she met him.
Lin Xuan Qi shrugged and continued his way to the mansion.
"Wait, you haven't told me the answer," Xue Cong lugged the things she carried and chased after him.
She froze when she saw the mansion's wall and huge wooden gates.
Lin Xuan Qi pushed the wooden gates open and waved for her to enter.
She slowed her pace and glanced at the surroundings carefully.
It was the first time she had seen a building so big.
Her family's farmland wasn't as big as the area of the mansion.
However, it seemed odd to her that there wasn't anyone around except for the two of them.
"Welcome to my mansion, this will be your new home from now on."
Lin Xuan Qi stopped in front of the main building with his arms stretched out, welcoming her.
"Your mansion?" Xue Cong asked, and she began to put things together.
"You... Master Lin, why did you not tell me earlier?" She stopped herself from grumbling when she remembered her status now.
She was his servant.

"Go and find yourself a room in the servant quarters. After you settle in, cook dinner for both of us if you can."
Cooking was one of the reasons he wanted a servant girl first.

Xue Cong nodded and quickly got to work.
As she was settling down and doing her work, Lin Xuan Qi went over to a building at the side of the servant quarters.
He could see something glowing inside, seeing it even through the wall of the building.
Lin Xuan Qi opened the door of the building and stepped inside.
It was a warehouse.
And on top of one of the racks was the thing that was glowing.
Lin Xuan Qi walked over to the racks and saw that it was five sacks of rice with one kilogram each.
"Yes," he exclaimed with excitement.
With the reward from the system, he would be able to at least survive on the rice when the money he had ran out.
And with enough people recruited, Lin Xuan Qi would be able to sell the rice for money.
"I will have to find a partner to sell the rice soon," he thought to himself.
After he was satisfied that the system delivered what it promised, Lin Xuan Qi closed the door of the warehouse and walked over to the main building.
On his way, he reminded himself that he must brief everyone to stay away from the warehouse without his permission.
Xue Cong had lit the candles and was waiting for him.
