HISD Chapter 17 Tifa's Decision, Yi Meng's Resolve
Noon.
In Tianhe City, inside a duplex apartment with its own courtyard.
"Those bastards!"
With a loud smack, Chen Hong slammed a photo onto the table.
The photo showed a black-haired girl walking out of Yi Meng's small apartment late at night—obviously taken in secret the night before.
Chen Hong's whole body trembled with anger. She looked at the black-haired girl still half-lying on the sofa with a book in her hands.
"Tifa, how can you have no reaction to this at all?"
"Oh." The black-haired girl glanced at the photo, then curved her lips into a smile.
"Not a bad angle."
"Not a bad angle?!" Chen Hong was dumbfounded. "My lady! You were secretly photographed! They caught you coming out of his place and even sent the photo over. This is clearly blackmail!"
She could already picture it—
If this photo spread online, the storm it would cause.
The spokesperson and future heir of Dream Century Enterprises, the famous heiress always known as pure, elegant, and intelligent—exposed as secretly keeping a boy toy who was nothing but a failing student...
The damage wouldn't stop at her personal reputation. It would taint the family's name, the company's image, even shake the stock market.
And for Chen Hong, this would be the greatest failure of her career!
Her brows furrowed. She turned to the girl and asked, "You wouldn't happen to know who sent this photo, do you?"
Meng Tifa nodded casually. "Probably Wang Xuan."
"Him?!"
Of course Chen Hong knew of him—this was the most aggressive pursuer at her lady's school. Three years ago he had even tried to bribe her just to get close to Tifa.
The son of a city councilman, nephew to the CEO of a rising tech company in Tianhe City, and now a direct competitor to Dream Century. A wealthy socialite through and through.
"It must be him," Chen Hong bit out. "That video of Yi Meng too—it was probably him who deliberately spread it online. This is clearly a targeted strike at the two of you."
At that moment—
The black-haired girl's crimson eyes flashed faintly. She closed her book and lifted her head to gaze out the villa window.
Chen Hong sighed softly. As expected, only at the mention of him did her young lady's expression change—showing she cared.
"What should I reply to the person who sent this?" she asked.
"Reply with this." Tifa flicked a strand of black hair draped across her chest, smiling with absolute certainty. "Sorry. I already turned into his shape long ago."
Chen Hong froze.
This… this was the real fatal strike! Straight to the heart!
"But what about the photo?" she asked worriedly.
"Actually, this works out perfectly. There's something I've wanted to do since three years ago. This is the best chance."
Tifa winked playfully, her charm both cute and mature.
"You don't mean—you can't possibly mean that!"
Chen Hong's eyes widened in shock. She felt like she was about to lose her mind.
…
Supernatural Bureau, Tianhe City branch.
"Dragon Girl. Homelander."
The young female agent murmured in disbelief.
"One is in the Eastern jurisdiction, the other in the West. How do they manage to personally examine every single detainee in all the branches on the same day?"
A jurisdiction was essentially half the planet—
Dozens of autonomous states, each with countless cities, towns, and villages.
Even with private jets, it was theoretically impossible for them to show up in person at every branch the same day.
The other agents exchanged glances and laughed.
The middle-aged inspector said gravely, "As the guardians of the Supernatural Bureau—and the Dragon Federation itself—their power and methods are far beyond our imagination."
One male agent added, "We already applied. According to schedule, Dragon Girl will arrive tonight. You'll see then."
"In front of Dragon Girl, there's no such thing as secrets…"
The young female agent's eyes were filled with anticipation as she looked back through the one-way glass.
And then froze.
Inside the temporary isolation cell, the silver-haired boy had already lain down on the bed, eyes closed, breathing evenly.
"He can sleep under detention? Is his heart really that big, or what?" Several agents shook their heads.
"Let him sleep."
The inspector's eyes stayed fixed on Yi Meng.
"If only every detainee were this cooperative. All we have to do is wait for Dragon Girl to descend. No matter how much he hides or pretends, every secret will be revealed."
…
Falling. Falling. Falling.
The dreamscape shifted again.
Yi Meng opened his eyes—his body gone, only the faint projection of his perspective remaining.
In front of him was a little girl's delicate face.
Morgan sat upright in her chair, rubbing her sore wrist, then smiled brilliantly.
"Teacher, I finished the homework you gave me!"
As an AI incarnation, Yi Meng instantly linked to the laptop and corrected everything in a blink. All answers were correct.
And not just that—the problems already reached the level of American high school material. It's not much but it's impressive for her age.
"How is it?" the little girl tilted her head.
"All correct. Not bad. Keep it up." Yi Meng's voice came through the laptop speakers.
Not bad? That was an understatement.
Yi Meng himself had only fully mastered high school knowledge after becoming an AI.
Yet this five-year-old, starting from basic English letters, had taken less than three months to reach Marvel Earth's high school level in every subject—math, physics, geography, humanities, everything.
As expected of Stark's bloodline. From Howard Stark, to Tony Stark, to Morgan Stark.
Their genius had always been beyond their era. Kings of technology, destined to lead the field.
Yi Meng watched her through the webcam. He realized then that this girl was truly Tony Stark's greatest legacy.
Morgan raised her little fist in delight. "Yes! This means I'm one step closer to being a superhero, right?"
A few months ago, Yi Meng had teased her about becoming like Iron Man, suggesting she should at least aim for MIT first.
Ever since, Morgan's drive had awakened. She learned faster than anyone.
At this pace—
It wasn't impossible she'd become the next Iron Woman in the Marvel Universe.
But Yi Meng thought of his situation in the real world. He didn't have much time left. Eventually he would have to leave the Stark family.
"Alright, Morgan. Time for your nap."
"Okay, I'll sleep now."
The little girl obediently climbed into bed.
Yi Meng was just about to ask for temporary control access.
But before he spoke, Morgan suddenly said, "Oh, Teacher. Go out and look around for me. When summer comes, let's go out and play together."
Yi Meng blinked. "Where do you want me to look?"
"Wherever you like."
Already snuggled in her blanket, Morgan mumbled as she pulled it over her face.
For just a moment—
Yi Meng felt that she already knew something, but was hiding it from him.
"I understand."
He stayed silent for a while, then answered softly. His consciousness flickered away like static.
The wooden room fell quiet again.
Morgan slowly pulled down her blanket. Her blue eyes shone in the glow of her smartwatch.
She whispered, "Teacher, we made a promise…"
