Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Happy, the Blue Cat

Just as Statiw was leaving his seat, the guild's front doors were suddenly pushed open with force, and Natsu rushed in, followed closely by Lisanna.

"Gray, did you steal my egg?" After entering the guild, Natsu's first thought was his arch-rival, Gray.

Gray replied, "How would I know something like that? Also, I was just about to settle scores with you, you annoying guy."

However, upon hearing Gray's denial, Natsu immediately turned and ran up to Laxus, stomping his feet and shouting, "Laxus, was it you?"

"What are you talking about?" Laxus replied.

Seeing it wasn't him, Natsu then ran up to Mirajane and Erza, who were in front of the quest board, and yelled, "Erza, give me back the egg!"

"Is there something wrong with your brain?" Erza said, speechless.

Then Natsu turned and shouted at Mirajane, "Mirajane, spit out the egg!"

"Oh my, Natsu's egg was stolen? Did you accidentally eat it yourself while sleeping last night?" she answered with a teasing smile.

"You scoundrel, I'll kill you!" Natsu, hearing her taunt, raised his fist and was about to charge.

"What did you say? Want to fight?" His words instantly angered Mirajane, and she was about to beat him up.

Just then, Lisanna, who had been following behind Natsu, said to her sister with a look of grievance, "Sister, our egg is gone."

Seeing that Lisanna and Natsu were almost on the verge of tears, Erza stopped Mirajane and said, "You should give them back the egg quickly."

"That's exactly what I was going to tell you, hurry up and give the egg back to my sister." Her sister was almost in tears, so Mirajane lost interest in teasing Natsu. Upon hearing Erza's words, she immediately turned to her and said.

"You mean I stole the egg?" Erza immediately retorted upon hearing this.

"If it wasn't you, then was it me?" Mirajane replied, not backing down.

"Let's go take a look." From afar, they saw Lisanna and Natsu almost crying from anxiety, and Erza and Mirajane also started arguing, ready to fight at any moment. Cana pulled Statiw over.

When Cana figured out the whole story from the commotion, she said thoughtfully, "I remember Elfman once said he wanted an egg like that when he talked about his lost bird."

"Elfman?" Natsu was stunned and immediately turned to look for him.

"Brother Elfman?" Lisanna, on the other hand, was very puzzled.

"Speaking of which, Elfman hasn't come yet today, has he? Otherwise, he would definitely come over to chat with us." Statiw turned to Cana. Elfman and he were good friends; every time he came to the guild, he would always find Statiw first.

"Indeed." Cana clearly thought of this too. If Statiw was in the guild, Elfman, besides following his sisters, would definitely sit next to him.

As everyone was talking, the guild doors were pushed open again. Elfman, carrying a giant egg half his height, with his upper clothing draped over the egg, laboriously shuffled in, step by step: "Natsu, Lisanna, so you're here. No wonder I couldn't find you in the park."

As soon as he finished speaking, Statiw, before anyone else, asked, "Elfman, why did you take this egg?"

"Because when I went to the park last night, Lisanna and Natsu were already asleep, but Natsu was very restless when he slept. I was afraid the egg would get cold, so I brought it back to incubate." Hearing his friend's question, Elfman recounted what happened yesterday and the reason for his actions.

"Oh. So that's what happened." Natsu immediately beamed, took the giant egg from him, held it in his arms, and thanked him, "Elfman, you're such a good person."

Lisanna also happily jumped around and said, "Thank you, Brother Elfman."

Elfman, with a simple-minded look, chuckled and scratched the back of his head, not saying a word.

"Hey, Erza. You were the one who suspected I stole the egg just now, weren't you?" At this moment, although the lost egg had been found, Mirajane turned to Erza with a dark expression.

"You also suspected me just now, didn't you?" Erza replied, staring at her with a serious expression.

"Die, Steel Board Woman!" Mirajane roared suddenly, punching Erza in the face.

Erza reached out and grabbed her fist, while her other fist also aimed at Mirajane's face, shouting, "You're the one who should die, Navel-Baring Woman!"

Just like Erza, Mirajane reached out and grabbed her fist, then the two of them, head to head and shoulder to shoulder, began to arm wrestle.

Watching these two suddenly start to arm wrestle, everyone else immediately backed away. Statiw retreated, saying, "Well, I should have expected it would turn out like this between them."

"Yeah, after all, that's just how they interact." Cana, who had been by his side, responded with a smile. Now the entire guild was watching them arm wrestle, and also cheering them on. Some had even started betting on the outcome, afraid that the fight between them wouldn't be intense enough.

However, just as the lively atmosphere in the guild reached its peak, a crisp 'crack' sound instantly reached everyone's ears, and the entire guild immediately fell silent. Even Mirajane and Erza, who were in the middle of a fierce battle, stopped. Everyone looked towards the source of the sound and gradually gathered around. Because the sound came from the giant egg Natsu was holding, an egg no one knew what was inside.

Everyone in the guild quickly gathered, forming a circle, silently watching the giant egg that already had cracks. Another crisp 'crack' sound rang out, and another crack appeared on the giant egg. Gradually, more and more cracks appeared, and the giant egg slowly floated into the air.

In an instant, dazzling golden light burst forth. When the light disappeared, everyone looked at the creature that hatched from the giant egg and exclaimed, "It's a cat that hatched?!"

Yes, what hatched was a small blue cat. This little cat now had a pair of white magic wings on its back. It slowly flapped its wings and flew onto Natsu's head. The white wings turned into specks of light and disappeared, and the little cat lay on Natsu's head.

"Natsu, everyone is very happy to see it!" Lisanna now saw happy smiles on the faces of Mirajane and Erza, who had been fighting, as well as everyone around her. She gently tugged on Natsu's clothes and said to him.

"Really?" Natsu looked around, then grinned and shouted, "Then let's name him: Happy!"

As if in response to Natsu, the little blue cat sat up and raised a paw, "Aye~."

On the other side, while everyone in the guild was happy, Elfman seemed a little unhappy. At this moment, Cana pulled Statiw to a corner, then took out a small bird from her person and let it slowly fly in front of Elfman. Seeing the bird land in front of him, he immediately cheered up.

However, before he could be happy for long, Mirajane placed a simple request form in front of him and said, "Elfman, go complete this quest…"
