The cafeteria roared with the usual storm of chatter, trays clattering, and laughter bouncing off the walls. The smell of kimchi stew and fried pork mixed in the air, overwhelming but familiar.
But when Logan Lee entered, the noise faltered.
His heavy boots thudded against the linoleum, cutting through the din. His sheer size forced students to step aside instinctively. Heads turned. Phones tilted discreetly. Whispers sparked like dry kindling.
"That's him…""Logan Lee…""He wrecked Vin Jin in the bathroom.""They say he crushed Vasco, too."
Logan's grin stretched wide. Sharp. Merciless. Sheep, all of them. Harmless, pathetic sheep.
His eyes scanned the room until they landed on Zack Lee and Mira Kim.
Zack sat across from his sister, tray piled high, his voice animated as he teased her about something. Mira rolled her eyes, trying to hide her smile as she sipped her soup. It was a rare moment of calm for the siblings, warm and almost normal.
Logan's grin twitched.
Then it happened.
Crash!
Zack stumbled forward, his tray jerking violently. Soup and rice splattered across the floor—some of it splashing onto Logan's pants.
The cafeteria went pin-drop silent.
Zack whirled around, rage already flaring. Behind him, Jay-Gal staggered back acting nervously, hands raised. He had bumped Zack's shoulder by on purpose, sending the tray off balance.
"Ah—sorry, sorry—!" Jay-Gal stammered, sweat dripping down his face.
Zack's fists clenched, veins bulging in his neck. But before he could erupt, Mira reached across the table.
"Zack," she said firmly. "Just apologize. Don't make this worse."
Zack grit his teeth, glaring at Logan, then muttered through clenched jaw: "Tch. My bad."
For a moment, it seemed over.
But Logan's grin widened. Slowly, deliberately, he lifted his tray.
Splat!
Soup and rice cascaded over Mira's head, soaking her hair, staining her uniform. The broth dripped down her cheeks.
The cafeteria gasped as one.
Mira froze. Her eyes widened in shock, her hands trembling as they reached to wipe the food from her face. Humiliation burned hot in her chest.
Zack's chair screeched back violently as he shot to his feet. His voice shook with fury.
"…What the hell did you just do?"
Logan leaned forward, voice mocking. "Oops."
That was enough.
Zack's fist blurred.
BAM!
His punch cracked against Logan's jaw. The sound thundered in the silence.
And then Zack unleashed hell.
He became a blur, fists slamming again and again—face, ribs, chest. Each blow landed with speed too fast for the eye to follow. Ten punches in seconds.
"Holy shit!" someone screamed."Zack's too fast!""He's lighting him up!"
Logan didn't even move. Didn't stumble. Blood dripped from his lip, but his grin only stretched wider.
He swung back. Zack ducked. Another punch—Zack slipped past, countering with a sharp blow to the ribs.
For a moment, Zack was untouchable. A storm of fists that Logan couldn't catch.
But Logan didn't chase. He waited.
When Zack overextended with another hook—Logan stepped in.
His hand snapped up, catching Zack's fist mid-swing.
Got you.
WHAM!
His counter slammed into Zack's face. Zack staggered, teeth gritting.
BAM!
A second shot tore into his gut. Zack gagged, blood spitting from his mouth.
The cafeteria erupted in chaos.
"No way—Zack's losing?!""He's one of the strongest in J High!""Logan's a monster!"
Logan yanked Zack close by the collar, their eyes locking. His grin was merciless.
"You're fast, kid. But speed means nothing… once I catch you."
WHAM!
The finishing blow smashed into Zack's temple. His body went limp, crumpling onto the tiles.
Mira screamed, rushing to her brother's side. She lifted his head onto her lap, her hands shaking, eyes brimming with tears.
"Zack! Zack, wake up!"
Logan loomed over them, licking blood from his knuckles, his grin crueler than ever. His hand stretched down toward Mira's face.
Her breath caught. She stared up at him, equal parts fury and terror.
But before he could touch her—
Crash!
A tray clattered to the ground.
Vin Jin stood there, sunglasses cracked, face still bruised from earlier. His chest heaved, rage burning in his eyes.
"You think you're hot shit, huh? Picking on Mira, knocking out Zack?" His voice cracked with fury. "Try me next, bastard."
Behind him, footsteps.
Vasco stormed into the cafeteria, Jace close behind. The crowd parted instinctively. Vasco's glare locked on Logan, veins bulging in his temple.
"You hurt my friend," Vasco growled. His fists clenched, muscles bulging. "I'll make you pay."
The air thickened with tension. Logan's grin didn't falter. In fact, it widened.
Three against one. Perfect.
"Come on, then," he snarled, cracking his knuckles. "All of you. Let's see who's left standing."
The crowd screamed, phones raised high. This wasn't a fight anymore—it was war.
And then—
"HEY! WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?!"
A teacher's voice thundered across the cafeteria.
The students panicked, scattering back to their seats. Trays clattered, whispers hissed.
Logan's grin faded into a sneer. He stepped back, hands in his pockets, strolling away as though nothing had happened.
Vin seethed. Vasco shook with rage. Mira clutched Zack, tears streaking her cheeks.
The fight had been stopped. But the war had only just begun.
