As the intense heat of the sun falls on the demon slaves walking through a extreme field of grass, feet stained with blood and dirt not even given clothes as being a demon in this world was a death sentence. They were covered in scars, barely latching on to life as their master did not want them to die and why should he since they were only there as a way to fill his pockets since demon slaves have always been a sought after product used for labor, sex and as subjects for the magic towers experiments, clearly just for the pleasure of their human oppressor. As they were walking the masters subordinates got annoyed at their slow pace and whipped a male demon stating
"This is what happens if you continue your slow pace! "
and whipped him to death, laughing at the pleasure of taking a life. As they continued their slow march a bear scorpion hybrid jumps out blocking their path forward. As the soldiers drew their swords the hybrid pierced a soldiers armor at a speed surpassing the human brain, a cowardly scream erupted from the Captain of the soldiers as he tried to flee. He was visibly terrified and as he was pushing his men closer to the hybrid he told them to use the slaves as distractions and one of he's men yelled at him saying
"The Lord will execute us if he sees some of his products damaged or missing"
And the captain shouted back
"Do you think I give a shit! They're just demons and weak ones at that. Mages ready your spells and kill that thing!!! "
Suddenly multiple fire arrows flew across the soldiers and slaves head aiming right into the head of the beast. Thinking they killed it the soldiers released a female demon and taking her son as hostage, told her to inspect the body and though hesitation crept in her mind the thought of seeing her son be killed pushed her closer to the beast and suddenly the bear grabbed her and bite her, using its venom the beast melted her, Swallowing her whole. Upon this sight the soldiers resumed their worried screams and as they were trying to run away a demon slave broke from his restraints and grabbed a sword from a soldiers scabbard.He lunged his body off the ground jumping at the beast his attack blocked by its tail and he was pushed back.
He then ran towards the beast and performed a front flip, leaping over its towering frame, gaining access to its back just as the tail was heading towards his head he sliced it clean off making the beast roar in pain, with its venom falling on the sword it started to corrode, became unusable and he quickly discarded the sword, again leaping over the creature, grabbing it by its horns and using his strength to rip It's head clean off and landing with its head in his hands, the blood of the decapitated beast raining on him.
Having just witnessed the fight before him the captain ordered his men to surround the demon slave. With that command the 9 remaining soldiers circled him and yelling at him to drop the beasts head. As the beasts head landed on the ground the soldiers came closer and cuffed him again, the captain coming closer and smiling at him saying
"The lord told me about you, that your strong and good with the sword! I guess it's true."
He then grabs the slave by the neck and pulled him to the ground
"And that your easy to control, with your daughter being held as leverage by the lord!"
The captain then laughed at him and told his men to get the demon in line with the others.
As the demon got in line with the rest a weak, slightly pale looking boy wearing decaying clothes and a red pendant hanging from his neck, Who addressed him as teacher asking him
"Was that a skill you were telling me about teacher."
He looked at him
"Yes Doulos, remember that the simplest moves can be the deadliest.''
Doulos interested asks him
"Wouldn't your enemy be able to easily predict your future moves if you just use simple moves? "
His teacher tells him
"Even though it may be predictable it can still catch a opponent off guard and if your opponent loses focus for just one second" (He moves his finger across his throat) "It could mean life or death."
As the day turned night the captain ordered his men to stop and to set up camp, as well as telling his men to make sure the slaves are secured stating he doesn't want those disgusting beasts to run away during the night. He then entered his tent while his men watched the demons.
Doulos grunted as he tried to find a comfortable way to sit close to his teacher but sees the young demon boy from earlier crying while a soldier came up to the boy and kicked him in the stomach telling him to shut up. Just as he was going in for another kick Doulos stepped in, grabbing the soldiers foot and shoving it away, angrily threating him
"Don't touch him again" (making the boy momentarily stop crying) "if you want to relive your anger don't do it on a small child even though we are slaves"
With killing intent in the soldiers eyes he grabbed Doulos hair and pushed him to the ground, punching him nonstop constantly telling him
"How dare a demon tell a human what to do! We are superior to you filth. I can do what ever I want to you slaves, but you should be lucky I won't kill you since the lord hates damaged goods."
He then stops and as he walks away spits on him and looks at him with disgust.
Doulos Teacher then comes up to him and helps him get up with the boy standing behind the legs wanting to apologize to Doulos but is to cowardly to. Doulos then asks the boy with a smiling face if the child Is okay, making the boy start tearing up and hugging Doulos.A few moments later the teacher then tells him to take his clothes off and as a routine already Doulos knows what is happening and takes his shirt off. As the teacher puts his hand on his back, Doulos asks him
"Are you sure we can do it here." His teacher telling him "No one can sense what we're doing. I think non of these cowards are above the Iron novice level and only the captain is low sword student level." The teacher then without warning pushes his Core energy into Doulos, making him experience pain that feels like swords piercing every part of his body. Holding back his screams he starts crying blood and his hair becoming darker. After a few minutes it all stops, his teacher looking at him and congratulates him on reaching the level of sword student. Doulos then falls on conscious his inner core burning with a small but strong heat.
The next day as they completed the last stretch of the journey they arrived at the mansion and suddenly all slaves were ordered to stop as they had reached the front gate of the lord's mansion and upon entering were commonded to bow in front of a man wearing white and gold armor which blinded Doulos, leaving him amazed. The lord then told everyone present to pay respect to a holy paladin sent by the holy church but just as the lord was about to finish the paladin stops him and looks at the teacher
"Oh my lord! It seems like you have a interesting creature in your collection" And then looks at Doulos and says "Excuse me! Not just one but two. How exciting". As the words left the paladins mouth the teacher stuffins up and Doulos could sense his teachers aura changing.
