The last thing I remember was sitting at the edge of the rooftop gazing at the seraphic sunset. It was a sight one had only to wait and see.
During the last couple of days strange things had been happening. I would get random visions of things that felt like hey already happened to me but I had not yet experienced them.
From lovely moments to the most terrifying moments. One's where I'm enjoying life when alone, like one where I am running through a large field of dandelions, them flying in the wind as I ran past them. The aurulent sky in the distance.
And one's that I can't even comprehend since everything feels like it's going to fast for me to handle. I can see what's going on in them but I know I'm scared. I feel the pain of those visions, they feel so real, haven't been able to tell anyone because they'd think have lost my mind.
These vision have got me thinking something that could only described as crazy.
Could I actually be died or dying right and just experiencing the bitter life I had one last time, like the term 'your life flashing before your eyes before you die'. Is that what is happening to me there is no other explaintion for those visions, they feel so, so real that I can't even explain it.
I set crouched down, the tips of my elbows pressing lightly on my thighs with my fingers intertwined visibly panicking.
The questions I had running laps in my mind were:
One: Am I really died or is this just another one of my maladaptive daydreams that I created?
Two: If I'm dead can I prevent my death.
Three: If I can... How?
Four: When and how did I died or will die.
Ding
Caught off guard I glazed back looking for location of the sound, seeing nothing I turned back only to be surprised as there was a transparent screen in front of me, floating in the air.
[Congratulations on becoming Emris]
"What is an Emris!?" I questioned my tone rather low that one could hear.
[ One who is already dead but alive at the same time]
I began to understand what was going on. Although I thought this was something that would only happen in webnovels and books.
I extended my hand only for it to pass right through, the transparent screen flickered like snow flicks falling in the winter season.
[Your trial will now begin]
"Huh..."
[In 1...2...
I have never thought of my self as an interesting person, I'm someone who stands at the corner in a room full of people. A typical background character, nothing special. I have a face someone would forget after a second of of leaving.
My life is rather boring, uneventful so if you told me that I was one experience 'magic' I would believed you. That's how bad it was.

[Welcome to Evigheden.
A place that is out the flow of what you call time. It is forever, it is...

Next thing I know I am falling rapidly from the sky passing through clouds. I observed my surroundings to see not one, not ten or twenty but hundreds of bodies on the ground passed out.
In my last moments before crashing straight first into the ground I reached out to heavens.
I need not want to die, I haven't seen or done much in my life... I have still more things to I want to.
Way did I waste my life.
I should have done more.
I don't want to die.

[The trials shall now begin]
My eyelids opened immediately.
I arose from my position. Many people seemingly confused to why they were here.
"Where am I." One man asked.
"What is this"
"Mom, mom where are you?" A child no older than 10 whispered behind me. I turned to glance at him, he was shaking although he was trying to act brave.
More and more people voiced their frustration though out the area.
A common expression they held was fear, frustration and anger. Some had smiles on their faces clearly enjoying what was happening.
[Once again welcome to Evigheden]
A voice sounded out seemingly coming from nowhere and everywhere at the same time. Sounding neither woman or man but both.
[Ladies and gentle man, kids and the elderly.]
[To make simple for your tiny brains. You are dead, you have already died and we're experiencing what you call your life flashing before your eyes, something that happens to everyone.]
Awes of understanding came from the crowd. Some were skeptical while others not so much.
[But you are the very lucky bunch who realized it, well more like unlucky because now instead of dying you get to experience something actually terrifying...]
People fell silent.
[Those of who wonder if 'I'm already dead than way am I here...
Yes that was something most of us were wondering
[ The answer to that question is, this is your second chance to life.
Fight to survive.]
[Pass the trials and you get to live, don't and you die]
[It's your choice, child]
I said before that my life was boring and uneventful, I also had never genuinely wanted anything.
"Hey there little fella, you look too young to have died already. What is your name." A man who looked to be in his late 30's, for his age he was fairly attractive. His ocean eyes complimented his features, the middle aged extended his palm to me indicating he wanted a handshake.
"Dain, call me Dain." I reached out and shaked his hand firmly.
"So Dain do you want to die or continue living."
But right there and then I knew what I wanted—I wanted to...
"I want to live."
