Chapter 135 - chapter 135 part 2

chapter 135 part 2

Countless gene-engineered creatures, similar to electric eels, went wild, baring their dense teeth, scrambling to bite Max. The currents from both sides intertwined, Max's body was completely destroyed, and fewer than one in ten of his physical cells remained.

Gradually, Max ceased to breathe.

Kali, being only the lowest-level artificial intelligence, did not send out a rescue message.

People from Oscorp rushed over upon hearing the commotion, stunned by the chaotic scene.

"We can't let this news get out... This person is named Max? No family, no relatives? An invisible man? That's perfect! Dispose of the body immediately, and delete all his information. Oscorp has never hired this employee!" The Executive Officer immediately gave the order, his tone as cold as ice.

Max's charred corpse was secretly dumped in the morgue. Everyone thought he was dead: no breath, no heartbeat, having endured a horrifying electric shock, he was certainly doomed.

The old Max died, and a new Max was born, or perhaps he should be called by another alias – Electro.

Footsteps gradually faded away. Max slept for a long time in the morgue, spending an entire day in a deep sleep. A new metahuman, with limitless potential, was slowly awakening.

For this day, Tony had waited for a long time. He had been waiting for this day. He needed Electro Max, not ordinary human Max. Tony would not interfere too much with Max's life, lest it cause irreversible consequences.

It might be cold-blooded, but it was practical. More and more alien foes would constantly descend, and ordinary human Max would struggle to survive one disaster after another. Only Electro had a chance. As compensation for the guilt in his heart, Tony was willing to truly accept him and, in the future, lead him toward the cosmos.

At the very least, he couldn't just stand by and watch Spider-Man kill him.

Max was a pitiful man, and his character made him worthy of complete trust.

The man, glowing with blue light, stumbled out of the morgue, dressed in the clothes prepared for the dead. At this moment, Max was no longer an ordinary human.

His entire body was semi-transparent blue, with visibly dense electricity continuously flowing within him. Each flow caused his body to burst forth with an even more beautiful blue light – the light of electricity, and even more so, the light of a new life.

Symbolizing miracles and hope.

Max opened his eyes, which also glowed with a faint blue light. The entire world looked different in his eyes. Where there was electricity, there were clearly flowing currents; where there was no electricity, there was only darkness. Whether it was buildings, underground cables, or even the bioelectric fields within human bodies, everything appeared incredibly special and bright to Max at this moment.

Night had fallen, and the colorful nightlife officially began.

In the bustling Times Square of New York, countless men and women were strolling, carrying bags big and small. After a day of hard work, evening was the time to relax. Crowds flowed in one after another, making the vast Times Square slightly crowded and incredibly lively.

Into the leisurely crowd stepped an uninvited guest wearing a hood. The bustling throngs and chaotic chatter only highlighted his inner loneliness.

In his eyes, there were no shopping bags or goods; only a blue world composed of countless currents. Especially the main underground cables, the flowing electricity filled him with intense longing.

"Hungry, so hungry... This electricity looks delicious. Oh, right, this is the power grid I designed! I have the right to consume it..."

Max knelt on the ground and forcefully pulled up the tightly sealed steel manhole cover – he had never possessed such power before. He reached his hand toward the junction of currents, which glowed as brightly as a blue sun, with a pilgrimage-like reverence.

The electricity throughout Times Square became unstable, and the images on many large screens flickered intermittently.

A large number of patrolling police officers responsible for maintaining order immediately gathered, surrounding Max, who was "eating." They looked at the blue-glowing man absorbing electricity, exchanged glances, and dealt with the newly born Max in the most direct way: by drawing their guns.

"Sir, take your hands off the cable! Put your hands up immediately! Hands up, kneel down! I said kneel!" The police officer shouted sternly, gripping his firearm tightly with both hands.

The crowd throughout the square scattered in panic, creating utter chaos.

Glowing blue, absorbing electricity... another mutant? Or a military experiment?

"No, please don't do this, I mean no harm..." The honest Max became flustered. For the first time in his life, police officers had drawn guns on him. He hurriedly retreated a few steps.

Numerous police cars rushed over, surrounding Max, who had retreated as instructed. Many police officers got out, encircling Max, aiming various weapons at him. Max saw with his own eyes that the police officers had all chambered rounds in their guns.

One pull of the trigger, and he would die.

"Kneel on the ground, now!" A police officer yelled.

"No, don't do this to me, this isn't my fault, I don't want this... Please, don't do this to me..." Max agonizingly stretched out a hand, as if hoping someone would pull him up.

But there was no one. The police were on high alert, and the people in the square screamed in terror as they fled.

It was still the same; he was all alone in the world.

It had always been just him.

A police officer pulled the pin and threw a tear gas grenade at Max. He was completely surrounded and couldn't escape.

"Don't do this to me..." Max was terrified and agitated. The immense electricity contained within his body unnaturally burst forth. The closest police car was directly blasted away by the powerful current.

Despair flashed in a police officer's eyes as he watched the car about to crash down and kill him. Suddenly, the entire car halted in mid-air, as if an invisible power had trapped it, suspending it above the police officer.

"What are you doing, Max?" A familiar yet strange shout rang out. The police car floated directly, slowly drifting to the side of a man.

This man was wearing the simplest of spring clothes, with a gentle smile on his face. From dozens of meters away, he watched Max, who was glowing blue. Beside him was a pushcart, on which sat a large three-tier cake.

The large cake was covered in a lot of cream and many cherries. On the side facing Max, a line of text was written on the three-tier cake: "Happy Birthday, Max."

"Th-this... You are..." Max was struck as if by lightning, completely frozen in place, all his movements halting.

"It's your birthday today, I know. Of course, I wouldn't forget. I've been waiting for you." Tony revealed a faint smile, openly examining Max, who was radiating blue electricity, with joyful eyes.

Max stared blankly at the person in front of him. He could see the bioelectric fields within everyone. Inside this familiar yet strange person, a vast electric field, like a surging river, pulsed and intertwined, emitting an extraordinary brilliance.

Warm like the sun.
