Chapter 127: The Resolute Sorcerer Supreme
A terrifying sense of crisis made Tony's hair stand on end; every cell in his body began to scream wildly, as if a supreme, extraordinarily powerful life form was crushing him dimensionally and hierarchically. Such an existence could cross the entire Multiverse with just a single gaze, reducing countless lower beings to dust. This was not merely a suppression of his very existence, but an annihilation from the highest echelons of spacetime, targeting life forms in a lower position.
Veins bulged unnaturally, his heart almost stopped beating, and his gradually chilling blood made Tony feel as though he had fallen into an ice cave. The bone-chilling cold almost completely froze Tony's vital signs, leaving him no time to even tremble or think.
Amanda, who always followed behind Tony like a silent guard, immediately showed alarm when she saw Tony's sudden abnormal state, instinctively drawing her weapon and becoming alert.
There are many metahumans in this world, such as those with psychic abilities, who can directly control people's minds. Amanda thought Tony had been attacked by a psychic.
But the next second, Amanda let out a piercing scream, an ultra-high decibel sound, trying to alleviate the terrifying pressure that suddenly erupted from deep within her body. Like Tony, every cell seemed seized by fear. In her body, the beneficial bacteria essential for maintaining life also began to die on a large scale. Humans couldn't withstand it, and these even lower-tier bacteria were instantly annihilated.
At this moment, the same situation as Amanda's appeared in multiple places on Earth. The genetic code hidden deep within their bodies seemed to be instantly overwhelmed. The mysterious matter and genes inexplicably introduced later had intertwined, but in an instant, they almost disintegrated, without warning or reason.
The assassins of the Court of Owls and the League of Shadows all knelt on the ground. An indescribable gaze ignored time, ignored space, ignored dimension, ignored the boundless vastness of the Multiverse, and even ignored the layers of obstruction from the Speed Force Wall that protected and sealed the Multiverse, plunging all related people into despair and madness. They frequently clutched at their own bodies, letting out piercing screams; even as their flesh and blood became mangled, they couldn't stop, as if a Deity was remotely controlling their will and their very lives.
An unspeakably supreme entity was gazing upon Earth.
Immense pressure, like a ceaseless, vast galaxy from above the nine heavens, crushed down from the distant Cosmos. Tony's entire skeleton creaked, on the verge of collapse. Only one thing was an exception: the Allspark in his mind pulsed as always. The Triple Helix Structure was touched and assimilated by the Allspark, and began... to endlessly replicate itself!
The Triple Helix Structure, as the core, floated on the surface of the Allspark in a pictorial form. The Triple Helix wanted to delve deeper, but was immediately repelled. The Allspark seemed to disdain its low level and status; even though it was a spontaneously replicated derivative, it was only allowed to barely float on the surface, hovering above non-existent flames, not permitted to "dirty" itself.
This feeling was quite strange. Was the Allspark... expressing disdain?
The Allspark became the only warm place in Tony's entire body. With a thought from Tony, an increasingly vast Allspark Energy spread forth, isolating and weakening that distant gaze. He began to recover little by little; the healthy color of a normal person returned to his face.
Tony's expression was grim. The scene of being infinitely close to suffocation and death left an indelible mark on him, and he found it even harder to accept.
It wasn't that he hadn't considered his own death, dying in grand, endless battles. But he never imagined it would be in this manner. A mere gaze of inspection had pushed him to this extent. If the opponent truly stood before him, would he even have the right to actively look at them?
A terrifying Archdemon had been startled and was looking at Earth with malicious intent, searching for specific individuals.
The Allspark did not disappoint Tony. This was what had come to this world with him, born because of him, and an unspeakable source of hope that grew because of him.
Tony glanced at Amanda, who was screaming on the ground; his expression grew even colder. Anything related to the Fountain of Resurrection was currently within the opponent's sphere of scrutiny. The immense pressure still lingered, but it no longer affected Tony. Under the blessing of his personal will and the Allspark, he could now ensure his own actions.
But he didn't move, maintaining a single posture, trying his best to weaken his presence. It didn't matter if it was useful or not; even if it could delay by a ten-millionth of a second, it was enough. The Guardian of Earth would not allow the opponent to act so recklessly.
Kamar-Taj, monitoring countless channels, finally reacted. The Sorcerer Supreme, who suppressed countless other dimensions, finally opened her eyes, radiating terrifying coldness.
In Kamar-Taj, many sorcerers were still going about their own business, completely unaware of everything happening. Some were eating, some sleeping, some cultivating; not a single person noticed the gaze cast from afar.
Only the Sorcerer Supreme, guardian of Earth, noticed it. Not only did she notice it, she also immediately launched a resolute counterattack!
Three Sanctums that did not exist in the mortal realm, under the Sorcerer Supreme's control, burst forth with brilliant light. The massive magic array, etched across the entire Earth, began to unleash terrifying magic power under the Sorcerer Supreme's mighty power. Directly connected to the void space of countless dimensions, complex runes also began to appear. These runes simply floated in the air, but those in the know understood that this planetary super-miracle was directly laid upon space itself, and every rune was directly etched into the fabric of space by the Sorcerer Supreme.
Countless people were alarmed, but countless people fell silent. They lowered their heads, maintaining a deathly silence, fearing to be noticed by the owner of the gaze. Only Earth, only the Sorcerer Supreme on Earth dared to strike, launching a resolute counterattack against the owner of the gaze.
On Earth, many sorcerers and knowledgeable Metahumans were dumbfounded. The three Sanctums, located in different parts of Earth and sealing the Earth's dimensional channels, unleashed their full power. This was an unprecedented sight, as the terrifying power that made them tremble was infused into the magic array.
It could have been a second, an hour, a day, or even a year.
When Kaecilius, the First Disciple of Kamar-Taj, sought out the Sorcerer Supreme, everything had quietly concluded.
The Sorcerer Supreme sat in her seat, her expression as serene as ever, but in her open eyes, there was a mix of gravity.
"Sorcerer Supreme," Kaecilius placed his hand over his chest, showing his respect for the Sorcerer Supreme, "just now, all three Sanctums showed violent reactions. Is another dimensional creature trying to invade Earth?"
The Sorcerer Supreme, dressed in a spotless white robe, calmly looked at her most favored disciple. "Don't worry. It was just a demon lord from Hell acting up again. I've already repelled them."
"Teacher, why don't we simply banish all the demons?" Kaecilius said, unwilling to accept it. "Especially Mephisto, who constantly parades before mortals, tricks them into signing contracts, and plunders the souls of Earthlings."
"Everything will have its outcome. Time will tell me everything," the Sorcerer Supreme said. She paused in thought for a moment, then took out a letter that had been written long ago from her sleeve and handed it directly to Kaecilius, instructing him: "Take this letter to Queens, New York, and find a man named Tony. Just give him the letter."
