Chapter 7 - The Golden Dragon’s Oath”

We both wandered through the jungle, unaware of its hidden mysteries, yet driven by the same desire — power. We dreamed of becoming the strongest beings in the world. The deeper we ventured, the darker it grew. Sunlight could no longer pierce through the dense canopy, and the air felt heavy, alive with secrets.

There, among the shadows, we saw creatures unlike anything we had ever known. Their bodies glowed in the darkness, pulsing with strange lights as if tiny lanterns had been woven into their very skin. Red, blue, yellow — they shimmered in colors that danced like fireflies, but these were no insects. They were giants, majestic and terrifying, with an aura of ancient strength.

We moved cautiously, but our hearts throbbed with excitement. With each encounter, we absorbed a part of their power, never destroying them completely. We respected the balance of nature, leaving them enough strength to survive and defend themselves. And yet, with every new gift of power, our spirits soared higher.

"Haaa!" I roared, the energy surging through me. "Another power… another step closer!"

Gratitude filled my chest. Thank you, Lord Radha and Krishna, for blessing me with this strength.

When we finally decided to leave, fate placed a new trial before us — a golden dragon. Its scales shimmered like fire, its eyes burned with an untamed will. Desire sparked within both of us. We wanted to claim it.

For three days, the battle raged. Shivam was wounded but unyielding. I too was battered, exhaustion gripping my bones. At last, with rage and determination, we unleashed our final, combined attack. The beast trembled, then fell before us.

"I am yours," the dragon spoke, its voice like thunder. "But only if you both call me together. Alone, I shall not answer. For it was together that you defeated me. From this day forward, I am bound to you."

With those words, the dragon vanished, leaving us victorious. We returned to the village we had once seen — the one where statues of stone stood silently. But something was different now. The air had changed, heavy with dread.

Fear prickled my skin. Was it nature itself? A beast? Or something darker… a demon? My hands trembled, though Shivam stood firm. We pressed onward.

Suddenly, from one house came a strange noise — thak, thak, thak… pounding, as though the walls themselves were alive. We approached, but as we did, the sound ceased. Silence pressed around us like a suffocating fog. Then, from another hut, a scream tore through the stillness.

"Help! Save me! Someone, please!" A voice shrieked, followed by the sharp, violent crack of slaps echoing in the night. Then — nothing. Silence again.

Fear rooted me to the ground. My body shook. At last, I collapsed beneath a tree, my mind heavy with confusion, and sleep claimed me.

In my dream, she appeared — the girl I had once seen carved in stone. She stood before me, her eyes filled with desperation.

"Save me," she pleaded. "Save my people. Our village is in danger. The demons have stolen all our powers and made us their slaves. He… he wishes to marry me. You are the only ones who can stop him. Please, I beg you."

Her voice trembled like the wind through broken leaves.

"But how?" I asked. "He is too powerful. How can I defeat him?"

Her eyes softened, yet burned with truth. "His strength lies in his hair. Half his power is hidden there… the rest is scattered across the strange creatures of this jungle. Which ones, I do not know."

And then, like mist at dawn, she faded away, leaving me with more questions than answers.

I have seen many strange creatures in the jungle. We fought them and absorbed their powers. As far as I remember, I have killed more than ten of them. One of them gave me the power of speed. What about you, Shivam Bhai? How many did you defeat?

"I've killed fifteen," you replied, "but the last one was extremely dangerous."

I said, "The power I received is mainly for protection. It creates an energy field around me that is almost indestructible. Because of that energy, no bird or creature can come near me. If they try, they burn instantly, since the energy radiates heat like molten lava—too strong for anyone to withstand."

"Ohh, that's why I couldn't come close to you," you said. "I thought maybe you had received some divine power."

"Yes, but brother, we don't have much time. Tomorrow we must face that demon—either kill him or distract him somehow. Whatever happens, we need to train hard today and hunt down the remaining creatures to take their powers. Let's split up. We'll meet again in the afternoon and share what we find."

"Alright," I agreed. "You check that side, I'll search this way."

So I entered the jungle carefully, moving forward with focus. The forest was alive with the sounds of birds: ku ku ku… kaw kaw kaw… chi chi chi… kuhu kuhu kuhu. Their calls felt pleasant, but then, suddenly, I heard a terrifying sound.

It was unlike anything I had ever heard—disturbing and eerie, like the cry of a witch. I followed the sound and discovered it came from a strange bird, a loon. Its voice was horrifying, but the bird itself was beautiful, unlike any other I had seen.

I observed it from a distance, scanning it with my eyes. I sensed it was unusual. Using my speed powers, I captured it instantly. At first, I couldn't understand what power it held, but after some time, I realized—I could now see much farther than before. That was its gift. I absorbed the power and continued my journey.

As I moved ahead, I could hear different sounds echoing through the forest. A cool breeze brushed against me, and the weather turned pleasant. But strangely, I noticed that the forest had grown silent. No animals appeared, and all movements seemed to stop.
