Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 The Rescue

Ethan

While I was in a meeting with the directors at my company, my phone chimed. Normally, I wouldn't check it, but something told me to and it was her. That chubby girl. Oh, God…

"Tonight will be okay?" I chuckled at the message. I knew exactly what I'd given her that night, and apparently, she couldn't stop thinking about it. But why now, in the middle of a meeting?

"Ethan?" Uncle Ben snapped me back to reality.

"Oh… sorry," I muttered, lowering my phone.

After the meeting, back in my office, my phone buzzed again with multiple messages from her. I smirked and called.

"Hey… you can't call me now," she whispered, shy and breathless.

"Why not?" I asked.

"You just can't. Let's use messages," she insisted.

"Fine… I'm busy, bye," I teased.

"You can't do that! Let's meet tonight, huh?" she begged.

"You're more desperate than you seem… yet so naughty," I said with a smirk.

"Are you coming or not?" she whispered.

"I'm…" I started, but she hung up before I could finish.

What was with this girl? She dared to hang up on me! Yet… she was mine for the taking if she called again.

Hours passed. Calls popped up on my phone—I hoped it was her, but it wasn't. My concentration on work vanished. This wicked girl had completely unsettled me.

Finally, when I got home, I put down my pride and called her. She took forever to answer.

"I… I can't meet you today, Ethan. I'm sorry," she whispered weakly.

"Well, you're the one who suggested it, so I'm okay," I replied, smirking.

"That's good then," she said softly.

"By the way, why are you talking like that? Are you sick?" I asked, concern creeping into my tone.

"No, I'm fine," she said too quickly.

"You don't sound fine, though…" I paused. That's when I heard a man's voice on her end:

"Who the hell are you, Pig?"

"Aria… who's that?" I asked sharply.

"I'll call you later," she said, cutting me off.

What the hell was going on? Married? And why would she want to sleep with me if she was? Was he a brother? A father? Ugh… why was I even thinking about that? It was her loss.

I turned to Audrey, one of the most gorgeous women in my household.

"Give me a massage," I demanded, sliding off my bathrobe.

"Yes, Master," she whispered, slowly undressing and moving to my back. Her hands kneaded slowly, expertly, and I moaned softly, leaning in to kiss her.

"This master needs more than a massage," I muttered, guiding her hands to me.

An hour later, after she was spent, my phone buzzed. Audrey tried to stop me from checking, but I ignored her. The message lit up my screen:

"HELP ME PLEASE!"

My heart dropped. I jumped up, threw on clothes, and grabbed my car keys. I called her but no answer. Panic clawed at me. I tracked her GPS, my hands trembling, heart racing.

I found her near her house, unconscious and badly injured.

"Aria! Stay with me!" I shouted, lifting her into my arms. I draped my coat over her and sped toward the hospital.

Thanks to my reputation, the staff rushed her to the VIP room. I paced outside, praying she'd be okay. Finally, the doctor emerged.

"She's awake, Mr. Ethan."

I bolted inside. When she saw me, she smiled weakly, and my chest tightened.

"What happened?!" I demanded softly.

"It's… nothing," she tried to dismiss it.

"Nothing? Are you insane? Do you call this nothing?!" I grabbed her hand, my voice fierce.

"Stop overreacting… anyway, thank you for bringing me here. You saved my life," she said, smiling awkwardly.

"Smiling? Are you joking? Who did this to you?!" I snapped, glaring at her.

"It's no use. You can't do anything," she chuckled nervously.

"Who said I can't?" I growled.

"You're nothing but a sex partner. This is my personal life, it has nothing to do with you," she said firmly.

"Then why ask for my help?!" I pressed, clenching my teeth. "Now unlock your phone and call the jerk who did this!"

Her lips trembled.

"It… It's my husband."

"What? Married? And why would he do this to you?" I asked at the same time, eyes narrowing like I was seeing a stranger.

Before she could answer, the hospital door slammed open. A shadow fell across the room.

And then I saw him, yesterday's Man

Damon!
