Roger stared silently at the lines of text for a moment, then let out a soft sigh. He lifted his head, his gaze carrying a faint, almost imperceptible ripple of magic as he looked at the girl and cat in front of him.
"Wendy. Carla," he called gently.
The two snapped their heads up, eyes meeting his.
The instant their gazes locked, a nearly invisible purple glint flickered in Roger's eyes—gone in a flash.
Carla's expression went blank for a split second, like a fog rolled over her mind, but it cleared just as fast, sharp as ever.
But when Roger's magic tried to slip into Wendy's consciousness the same way, it hit something—a soft but insanely tough invisible barrier that bounced it right back.
He frowned, focused, and pushed harder—breaking through—ready to plant the memory—
WHOOSH!
A massive suction force yanked from Wendy!
Roger's mind was ripped free—vision shattering like broken glass!
Next second—dizzy spin—he was floating in a vast blue sky.
In front of him: a massive creature covered in pure white feathers, hovering silently.
Its eyes—locked on him with scrutiny and fury.
It opened a maw full of sharp teeth, voice booming like it shook the soul—ripples spreading through the air:
"HUMAN! What are you trying to do to Wendy?!"
That look— Roger's heart jolted. He knew this thing instantly—the Sky Dragon who raised Wendy: Grandine!
But why am I meeting her like this?
Swallowing shock, Roger spoke fast and honest: "No misunderstanding! I don't want to hurt Wendy!"
"It was her old guildmaster, Master Robaul, who asked me to do this."
"He loves her too much to let the truth break her heart—so he asked me to alter her memories about it."
He met the dragon's giant eyes. "You're… the dragon who raised Wendy—Grandine, right?"
Hearing not just the request but his name dropped so casually—Grandine's tense, ready-to-strike stance eased a bit.
Confusion flickered in its eyes. Sure, Wendy might've mentioned him—but no human should've connected the dots that fast.
"How do you know my name?" Its voice was still massive, but less angry—more curious.
"Because Wendy talks about you all the time when we chat."
"Plus, in my guild, we've got two guys hunting dragons."
"One of them—Natsu—he's looking for a dragon named Igneel."
"Igneel?!" Grandine's huge body twitched, tone laced with shock.
It hadn't expected that name from a human.
Earlier, it'd been too panicked to check—now it sensed: this kid's magic wasn't evil.
And if he knew Igneel and rolled with Natsu… he probably wasn't lying.
The crushing dragon aura faded like a tide. The trembling sky calmed.
Its voice softened, a hint of apology: "I see… Sorry, human. I overreacted—thought you were trying to hurt the kid."
"No worries," Roger shook his head. "You were just protecting her."
He glanced around. "So… this is deep in Wendy's mind? Her inner world?"
"Correct," Grandine confirmed, massive head nodding.
"Your magic and mental force were insanely strong—triggered the barrier I set. Woke me from dormancy."
"That power… it's almost on par with the strongest Dragon Kings."
"So I used the barrier to snag a chunk of your spirit wrapped in that magic—and pulled your consciousness here."
Roger nodded thoughtfully. "So… if Wendy or the others face unbeatable danger, you guys step in?"
"No," Grandine shook its head, gaze distant—like seeing beyond space.
"For complicated reasons, we don't interfere much with their growth, battles, or choices."
"This was a rare exception. Your magic's too unique—and huge. Otherwise, I wouldn't have woken up or dragged you in."
Then—Grandine sensed the Dragon Seed deep in the space starting to fade. It spoke quickly:
"You're not malicious—get out of here."
"We can't let the kids know we're inside them yet. It's tied to bigger secrets—keep it quiet, please."
It paused—then, recalling human customs, figured compensation was due.
After a beat: "For yanking you in here… I'll give you a lost Sky Magic."
"In this era, only Wendy should have it."
"It's called Heal—purifies toxins, banishes fevers, mends body and mind. Carries the sky's love and protection."
A soft, pure pale-blue orb floated from its feathers—sinking into Roger's consciousness.
At the same time—space shuddered, rejecting the intruder.
Vision blurred—light, dragon, everything shattering away!
Blink—and Roger was back in his body, staring at the familiar forest—and a still-dazed Wendy.
Her big eyes slowly refocused. He quickly guided the magic again—this time, the "left home to train and joined Fairy Tail" memory slipped in smooth as butter.
No resistance.
"Mm—" Wendy scrunched her brow, shaking her head like shaking off a dream.
She looked at everyone, confused. "Mr. Roger? Miss Mira? I—why am I here—"
She glanced at the pile of gifts in her arms—memories trickling in, clear and real:
"Oh! I remember! I left the village to train! Every kid has to leave at a certain age—find a guild worth joining."
She nodded firmly. "Grandpa Robaul recommended… Fairy Tail, right?"
"Exactly!" Erza stepped up, smiling naturally. "Master Robaul told us everything. We came to bring you back to the guild!"
"Miss… Erza?" Wendy blinked—memories of their village visit fuzzy for a sec, then replaced with "logical" ones.
They were the heroes who saved the village. That's why Grandpa trusted them.
She smiled shyly, cheeks pink. "Th-then… thank you, everyone."
Seeing her sweet, bashful vibe—the ones in the know all exhaled internally. Lucy waved it off with a big grin, lightening the mood:
"No biggie! We're guildmates now—no 'trouble' talk!"
She flashed a thumbs-up and winked. "Teammates help each other, right?"
Happy sidled up, tail swishing, smirking:
"So Lucy'll buy her dearest teammate Happy a whole cart of fish?"
Lucy's eye twitched—three black lines on her forehead. "That's not help—that's extortion! Buy your own fish!"
"Aww~" Happy made a dramatic sad face, paws up.
"See? Lucy's all talk—fake nice!"
"I'm a cat of my word!"
"You little—!" Lucy lunged for his tail.
Happy zipped higher, yelling: "Wah! Fake Lucy's beating her cutest teammate!!"
"(A`) WHERE'S THE CUTE, YOU JERK CAT?!"
Watching the chaos, Wendy's lingering tension melted—she giggled.
Carla, watching worriedly, finally relaxed too.
---
The group set off—Happy volunteering to fly beside Wendy and Carla, chattering Fairy Tail "basics."
Soon, they met up with the waiting trio.
Roger whipped up a luxury cruise ship with magic. Everyone boarded—sailing for Magnolia.
---
At the stern, Wendy leaned on the rail, taking deep breaths—stealing glances at Roger chatting with Erza up front.
She steeled herself—took a few steps—then slowed… hesitated… stopped… even backed up.
"I-I can't! Maybe forget it, Carla…" she whispered, face full of doubt.
"What nonsense!" Carla smacked the deck with a paw—pap pap.
"Wendy, you have to contract with that man!"
"That male cat said everyone in the guild's strong because they contracted with him!"
"You're joining soon—if you're not strong, people will look down on you! Or you won't get good jobs!"
"B-but…" Wendy fidgeted, fingers twisting. "Everyone seems nice—no one would do that…"
"And I don't really like fighting… I can just take helper jobs, right?"
She looked up, teary. "QAQ What if… what if he says no…?"
"You silly girl…" Carla facepawed, then puffed up. "You're a Sky Dragon Slayer! You've got enhancement and healing magic! Have some confidence!"
Before Wendy could waffle—Carla grabbed her arm and dragged her toward Roger.
"Hey! Ahem—Roger!" Carla tried to sound casual, chin high (betraying nerves).
"Wendy wants to contract with you—cool?"
Wendy—face beet red, head down, heart pounding—nearly held her breath.
Roger paused mid-chat with Erza, turning. A golden exclamation mark floated over Wendy's head.
He smiled and nodded. "Sure. And Wendy's got huge potential."
Both exhaled—shoulders slumping in relief.
Wendy shot up, beaming—she grabbed Carla, bouncing:
"You heard that, Carla?! Mr. Roger said I've got huge potential!!"
"Told you! Be confident!" Carla crossed her arms, smug. "Totally normal for you!"
"Yup!" Wendy nodded hard, glowing with joy.
---
Contract sealed—system voice in both heads:
[Ding! Acquired Sky Dragon Slayer Magic Mastery + Sky Magic] (Roger)
[Ding! Acquired Special Ability Template: Tsunade – Skills unlock with magic level] (Roger & Wendy)
[Currently Unlocked: Strange Strength]
[Locked Skills:
Heavenly Foot (Locked)
Palm Sage Technique (Locked)
Mystical Palm Seal (Locked)
Mystical Palm Seal: Release (Requires Seal first)
Creation Rebirth: Hundred Healings π (All above required)]
"Eh?" Wendy tilted her head.
"Strange Strength… and—Tsunade?"
"Did I… get new magic?"
Everyone's ears perked—Natsu bolted over, pumped:
"Wendy, what'd you get?! Spill!"
"Um…" Wendy recalled. "Something called a 'Tsunade Template'—unlocked a skill called Strange Strength."
"The rest… need higher magic to unlock one by one."
"Tsunade and Strange Strength?!"
Every Naruto reader froze—faces pure shock.
Mira gasped: "So there's Palm Sage and Mystical Palm Seal stuff too?"
"Yup!" Wendy nodded, curious. "Miss Mira, you know Tsunade?"
"Know her—?" Erza rubbed her temple, complicated look. "When we get back, read the manga yourself."
She turned to Roger, awed: "Your contracts can even give manga powers?"
"Wasn't expecting it—but kinda fun," Roger shrugged, eyeing Wendy.
"Actually… it fits her perfect. Healing and support, plus solid close-combat. Super balanced."
"=_= Fits how—?" Lucy's brain flashed Wendy Strange Strength-punching a hill to dust or cratering enemies.
Compared to this tiny, shy, soft-spoken girl—she shuddered, worldview rattled.
To shake the image, Lucy pivoted: "Speaking of—everyone else's contract bonuses? Always meant to ask!"
Natsu scratched his head, grinning sloppy: "Mine's weird—called Incinerate. Lets me absorb other people's flames, fuse 'em into mine—boosts heat, power, and adds special effects."
He pouted. "Only used it on that rainbow-flame creep from Grimoire Heart so far."
"Whoa—!" Lucy nodded. "Sounds OP! Mira's gotta be demon-related, right? Erza's armor stuff?"
"Nope~" Mira smiled sweetly.
"Mine lets me fully absorb demon powers when I Take Over—turn 'em into my magic permanently."
Lucy bean-eyes: "(0_0) That's broken! Way stronger than ours!!"
"Mine? Enhancement magic," Erza said, arms crossed.
"Can slap any attribute or effect onto anything—my armors, weapons. Boosts power or adds new tricks."
"Miss Erza does enhancement too?!" Wendy squeaked.
"You do?" Erza blinked—then remembered training Lucy. She slapped her chestplate—clang—grinning:
"Then Wendy, you'll train enhancement with me! I'll have you battlefield-ready in no time!"
"Eh?" Wendy froze—Lucy behind her frantically shaking her head, X-arms, mouthing:
"DON'T AGREE! YOU'LL DIE!!"
Wendy hesitated—but couldn't crush Erza's enthusiasm. Tiny nod, whisper:
"Th-thank you, Miss Erza… please teach me."
Erza beamed—a smile Lucy saw as "demon drill sergeant":
"Don't worry! You'll be unrecognizable—Carla might not even know you!"
Lucy behind—head dropped, facepalmed hard. Sigh:
"Doomed… Erza's special training? Wendy's gonna cry buckets…"
---
Soon—they rolled up to Fairy Tail's doors.
The second they stepped in—someone bellowed:
"YO! Roger's crew is back!!"
"New members incoming!!"
The rowdy hall went quiet a beat—then all eyes snapped over, chatter exploding louder:
"Wow! That white-haired beauty's gorgeous! So pure—like an angel!"
"Check the big square-faced dude—it's Wally!"
"That red-haired guy's intense! And the purple-haired girl's hot!"
"The blue-haired kid's adorable! And she's got a girl Happy!! Does she like fish too?"
"Don't lump me with that dumb tomcat!!" Carla snapped.
Her gaze swept the room—locked on two identical white-haired girls by the bar. Eyes wide:
"?! Two exact same people?! Twins?"
"Nope~" Mira smiled, stepping up. "Both my little sisters—Lisanna."
"One's from another world."
"ANOTHER WORLD?!" Carla's pupils shrank—cat face horrified.
This guild has someone from another dimension?!
Is it… Edolas??
