Lina's POV
I barely sleep at the hotel, my mind replaying every word of last night's confrontation with Rio. By 6 AM, I'm dressed and heading home, knowing I need to face whatever mood he's in after our explosive argument.
The penthouse feels different when I walk in—charged with tension, like the air before a thunderstorm. James takes my overnight bag with his usual professional courtesy, but I catch the sympathetic look in his eyes.
"Good morning, Young Mistress. Young Master is waiting for you in the dining room. He's... prepared breakfast."
Prepared breakfast. Rio doesn't prepare anything like that...he pays people for that. My stomach knots as I make my way through the penthouse, my heels clicking against the marble floors.
I find Rio seated at the head of the dining table, impeccably dressed in a charcoal suit despite the early hour. His laptop is open, phone positioned beside his coffee cup, and spread across the mahogany surface are documents.
