The husband and wife were now inside the hospital office, eating the sweets bought for his wife.
"Wife, are they starving you hear?" Aithan teasing his wife while adoringly looking at her, who is eating her food wantonly. He then takes out a strand of hair that is sticking to his wife's face. Adoringly gazing at her while gently stroking his wife's hair.
"Obviously not, you know, no one could bully. It is just too hectic today that I barely ate my lunch. I also miss this sweet," Eleena said disapprovingly while cutely still eating her food.
Looking at her, time does not wither her beauty, but instead, she ages like a fine wine. She doesn't look like someone who has already given birth and had a 2-year-old daughter. "Besides, these foods are from my beloved and handsome husband," teasing back her man.
She finished eating her food, and she further said while looking at him, "Despite how you're also very busy with work, you always made me and our daughter your top priority. I must admit, if we compete over who loves whom the most, I feel like I could never win, since you're always the one who exerts the most in our relationship. I'm sorry if I lack something, but always remember this, I love you so much, Professor Aithan Joaquin Sy, my love." This time she said genuinely, oozing with so much love that she has for her husband.
Her husband then suddenly but still gently holds his wife's face and captures her lovely and sweet lips, almost taking away all her breath. After minutes of intense kissing, Aithan finally let her go, allowing her to breathe.
"My wife, why are you so silly? If we counted the time when we became girlfriend and boyfriend, and until now that we're married, we've been together for almost 10 years, and besides, we already have a daughter," Aithan said teasingly.
While still gasping for air, Eleena suddenly glares at him and pouts, "You still dare to tease me!?"
Aithan just happily took his wife's left hand while his right hand gently held her face, allowing their forehead to intimately touch.
Aithan gently and passionately said while looking at her eyes, "My wife Etheena Denece, my love, and my life, I love you so much. Words could never describe how much I love you. By saying that I exert the most in this relationship, you should know then that what I'm doing is just the tip of the iceberg; even at this point, I feel that it's never enough to express my love for you. So yeah, you could never beat me, because I'm the one who loves you the most." The last part was said cheekily as he noticed his wife being emotional with his confession.
Making sure his wife finally smiles, they hug each other tightly, wishing that time could stand still or at least flow slowly.
After quite some time, the couple finally fixed their clothes and prepared to go home.
Holding each other's hands, the couple passed by the remaining hospital staff and bid them goodbye, "Goodbye, everyone, have a nice night duty!" Etheena said happily while Aithan just politely nodded at them.
"Goodbye, Dr. and Prof. Sy! Have a safe ride home!"
The couple waved them goodbye and then finally went to their car.
As they got inside, Aithan made sure that he fastened his wife's seatbelt and also his, but before he did so, he first stole a kiss from his wife, earning him a lovely chuckle from his wife.
"Let's go home, my love, our little angel might be missing us now," Aithan said happily.
"Let's go home!" she said excitedly while holding her husband's right hand, his other hand then held and controlled the steering wheel.
After a 20-minute drive, the couple was just a few kilometers from but they stopped at a traffic light juncture waiting for the light to turn green.
As the couple waited, their topic of discussion turned to their adorable daughter.
Eleena "What do you think our daughter will be when she grows up?" glancing outside the car and then glancing back at her husband, "I hope she can be like you. I was a pain to my parents growing up, always making them worried with all my antics." laughing as she remembers the past.
"But I hope she could be like you, full of life." Smilingly said to his wife.
The green light then lights up, but suddenly a truck dashes at them from Aithan's side, hitting all the cars before it. In a span of seconds, the couple looks at each other, their life together, and the image of their daughter flashes back. In a time like this, people could only rely on a miracle to save them. But Eleena, 100% sure that her husband would do everything to save her life even at the expense of his own.
Aithan automatically activated the safety features of their car and shielded his wife. His logic is to make sure that he could protect her at all costs and that she survived for their daughter. But Eleena who was questioning the amount of love she has for her husband just awhile ago at the hospital, realized that she loves Aithan so much that she could not live without him, despite feeling guilty for their daughter leaving her alone in this world, she chose to perish together with her husband; by trying to protect him in a similar manner to how he is protecting her.
In the split second, the couple was able to look at each other for the last time. Although shocked and feeling unnerved by their situation, Aithan was able to see the strong resolution in his wife's crying eyes. He knew well what that meant ‒her love for him was too much that she would not want to live without him. He also felt sorry and selfish for leaving their daughter alone. But similar to his wife, he could not live without her. Thus, coming to the conclusion, the couple hug each other thighly and accepted their destiny.
At the last milliseconds of their life, Eleena had a sudden epiphany about life. If miracle really exist ‒I wish I could live my life all over again with you, My love Aithan.
