I wake up to the annoying sound of my ship's alarm, and I sit up on my bed.
"Rea what's up with the alarm?" I asked Rea in a loud and paranoid voice.
"Life form detected approaching the ship." Rea replied.
"Would you be more specific." I told Rea
Rea replied "Superman"
I remembered what he had said about finding where I could fit.
"Rea, open the ship for him when he arrives."
After saying that, I got up from my bed and flew to the bridge then sat on the control chair.
In less than 2 minutes, Superman was standing in front of me in his super suit.
"Good morning, Tal-El" Superman greeted me with a smile.
"Morning" I replied lazily in the chair.
"Suit up, am taking you somewhere."
"What about my spaceship?" I asked as I tapped my amulet making it to change into my super suit.
"Are you always this lazy in the morning?" Superman asked
"Not always just once in a while." I replied
"Fine, just bring your ship along," Superman said
"Okay, so where exactly are we going?" I asked
"Just follow." He replied
With that he flew out of the ship at a not so fast speed towards wherever we were going.
I told Rea to follow Superman as I sat and simply enjoyed the view of the morning sky.
Soon my ship in camouflage mode and Superman were above a bustling city and more specifically a cheering crowd.
Superman continued flying until he reached in front of a grand building.
Afterwards he looked at my ship.
Guessing that this was probably my signal, I flew my ship higher making sure that no one in the crowd below would see me flying out.
Then I flew out of my ship and arrived next to Superman who was still floating in the air.
The crowd of people below cheered even more at my sight.
"Wow, who is that?"
"The one next to Superman, I think it's his prodigy."
"Why would you come to that conclusion?"
"I mean look at him, his basically little Superman didn't you see the video of him catching a building in some city near the ocean."
"Now that you've talked about it, yeah I think I saw that video one someone's livestream."
Hearing what the crowd was discussing about, I could not help but wonder where the camera that captured me was.
I turned to Superman and whispered, "What now?"
"Keep following." He replied.
Superman landed on the ground and walked to the grand building.
I too landed on the ground and followed him.
Looking up at the grand building, I realized it was the Hall of Justice.
I was wondering why so many people had gathered, I mean it couldn't be the only unique building in the area but now I know.
From my knowledge of watching DC, the Hall of Justice is a publicly known gathering place for the Justice League and other heroes.
Why publicly known you ask?
It's because the real gathering place for the Justice League which is not known by the public is the Watchtower orbiting Earth.
The Hall of Justice in front of me had a beautiful water fountain in front of it.
And it was clearly labelled 'Hall of Justice' in a semi-circle format with golden letters and a white background.
We entered the Hall of Justice and inside we found a few figures I found familiar from watching DC.
These were Batman and Robin, Green Arrow and Speedy, Aquaman and Aqualad, Flash and Kid Flash.
They seemed to be in the middle of an argument with Speedy being the most active.
"Am tired of being treated like a kid." Speedy firmly spoke
At this moment, Superman and I walked in.
Batman and the rest turned and looked at us.
"I didn't expect you to be here." Batman said in a deep voice
Superman replied "Nether did I."
"What is this argument about?" Superman asked
Not giving anyone time to process Superman's question, Batman spoke, "I believe introductions are necessary."
Then he looked at me along with everyone else who was in the room.
Not wanting to stretch the silence any further, I responded "Am Tal-El, cousin of Superman."
Speedy then interrupted "Ok everyone back on point."
"You promised us a mutual relationship of working in the league with the rest of you not some nursery group."
Batman replied "Joining the league isn't as simple as you make it sound."
"It's based on a group vote during league meetings."
Speedy turned to Robin, Kid Flash and Aqualad and spoke "Humph, did you even that they have a Watchtower in space."
"The Hall of Justice is just a tourist attraction for the media."
Batman glared at Green Arrow.
"Sorry, it just kind of slipped in the past days." Green Arrow said in defense.
Batman spoke in an even deeper voice "The Watchtower is for Leaguers only."
Speedy turns to Robin, Aqualad and Kid Flash for console and to join him in arguing for a spot in the Justice League.
But they don't want to push there luck especially in front of Batman.
Speedy then spoke harshly "Fine, if you don't have ambition, then this is not the type of team I should be in."
Speedy throws away his red cap walks to the exit of the Hall of Justice and declarers "Am leaving the team." then walks away.
"Speedy wait." Green Arrow tries to stop Speedy but he already left.
"Looks like he has made his choice." I say after seeing Speedy walk out of the Hall of Justice.
"Again who is this kid?" Robin asks with irritation
"The name is Tal-El boy wonder." I too reply with irritation
Batman then speaks, "Leaguers we have a meeting and the rest of you, stay out of trouble."
With that, the leaguers walk towards a corner of the room with a door saying 'Justice League members only.'
Turns out the door leads to a Zeta Tube.
A zeta tube is a teleportation device used by members of the Justice League to make portals and travel across the globe.
The zeta tubes were made by a scientist from Star Labs who then offered it to the Justice League.
Nearly every Justice League stronghold has a zeta tube which is quite convenient for those who can't fly.
They are circularly shaped and all one has to do is insert a password, clear a palm scan and voice verification then walk through.
How do I know that's it's a zeta tube?
It's because they produce a fair amount of light during the process and also the sound of the machine during voice verification.
I detected the sound using my super hearing.
I could have used X-ray vision but the door was made of lead and my X-ray vision can't see through it.
This is because lead is soo dense to the point that the power can't work.
I walk around the room looking at different things that could interest me before sitting on a chair out of boredom.
"I kind of feel like Speedy has a point." Robin speaks
"Oh no, don't tell me your also going with Speedy." Kid Flash responds
"No, Speedy just didn't properly bring out what he wanted to say and he was hot-headed when he was talking."
Robin says with a finger on his chin while squinting his eyes.
"He was right on one thing though." Robin continued
"They need to stop treating us as children." Aqualad spoke
"We need to convince them that we aren't children, that we can deal with our own problems." Robin replied
"And how exactly are we going to convince the Justice League?" Kid Flash asks
"We can solve a case on our own." Robin replied
Robin pulled out a small square device which made a small hologram in front of him.
He then searched for latest news for about 1 minute and showed us the images on the hologram screen.
"How about this, Katmus, it's a scientific research company that recently faced a fire outbreak."
"But I find it odd that the cause of the fire was not discovered." Robin added
"I say we go find out ourselves." Robin states
Kid Flash and Aqualad then turn to look at me.
"What?" I ask them with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, are you coming or not?" Kid Flash asked in a hurried tone.
"Sounds like whatever your going to do is more interesting than sitting here so why not." I replied and followed them.
