Viridian City Pokemon Center
The soft chime of the Pokemon Center's clock woke me up. I stretched out under the crisp sheets of the trainer room, blinking as sunlight filtered in through the small window. Treecko was already up, perched on the windowsill, tail tapping idly as it watched the streets outside.
"Good Morning." I murmured, sitting up and rubbing my eyes. After that I opened the System Panel.

As I looked through the system, I noticed my points had increased quite a bit from last night's battle. And Treecko has leveled up as well.
After seeing my current points I thought for a moment and went into the system mall and opened the trainer utilities section.
I chose the trainer bag upgrade.
[Trainer Bag Upgrade - 100 Points]
Expands storage space and adds two compartments for better sorting.
As I confirmed the purchase, a subtle shimmer surrounded my trainer bag. When I touched it, the material felt the same, but space inside had stretched. And two more compartments have been added, letting me separate food, medicine, and Pokeballs with more ease.
After that I checked the milestones to see two more have been completed. Seeing a Legendary Pokemon and winning against evil team grunts.
I got 50 points from defeating the grunts but the other reward is quite interesting.
[Awakening Agent] - Use to initially awaken one of the three natural powers (Psychic Power, Aura Power or Evergreen/Viridian Power) depending on compatibility of the user. It will stay dormant until full awakening which takes 30 days.
I froze after reading the words "An Awakening Agent…"
The name alone didn't feel that special, but if the description is correct, this isn't like a potion or a simple upgrade. This is something out of legends. A once in a lifetime opportunity.
My thoughts immediately drifted back to the fragments of research papers and League records I had read during my time at Professor Oak's lab.
Psychics - they were the most documented. People born with sharp minds and stranger gifts—telekinesis, telepathy, illusions. Their power always carried a kind of pressure, a mental weight in the air that set them apart. Sabrina in Saffron was the prime example. Talented, feared, and dangerous if unchecked.
Then there was Aura. Not as common, harder to track. It wasn't just power, it was a resonance, a connection between life itself. Those who mastered it could sense intent, project energy, even communicate with Pokemon in ways most people could only dream of. Accounts always spoke of a blue light, waves of power rippling off the body. I remembered the old case studies trainers who fought in wars, using Aura to push themselves beyond human limits.
And finally, the rarest of them all: the so-called Evergreen, or Viridian Power. Hardly more than legend in most texts, yet backed by enough evidence to make the League take it seriously. A blessing tied to nature itself. The power to heal, to calm rampaging Pokemon, to soothe forests when chaos broke loose. Some even claimed it was linked to Legendary Pokemon. Always described as a gentle, green light—like life given form.
My hand hovers over the item. This isn't something you store away for later. It is the kind of chance you take.
Treecko stirs, blinking up at me with curiosity. I met his gaze. "I think I need to use this now."
I tapped Claim.
The System hums, and in my hand materializes a vial, glowing with shifting light—red, blue, green, each fighting to dominate. My grip tightens, but I don't hesitate. I uncork it and swallow the contents.
The taste is sharp, metallic, burning as it runs down my throat. My chest tightens and I clutch the edge of the bed. Warmth pulses through me, rising, spreading then vanishes.
[Compatibility Detected. Awakening process initiated.]
[Full Awakening in: 30 Days.]
I exhale slowly. No sudden visions. No powers. Just a quiet hum in my veins, like something sleeping beneath the surface.
"So it won't show up until it's fully awakened," I murmur. "One month…"
Treecko hops closer with a soft chirp, as if to reassure me.
I smile faintly, brushing a hand over his head. "Guess that gives us plenty of time to be ready."
The vial dissolves into nothing, leaving only the System's timer counting down.
Viridian City Shopping District
After a quick breakfast at the Pokemon Center. I parted ways with Ash and Misty at the door of Pokemon Center and went towards the shopping district. The Viridian Forest wasn't something to walk into unprepared, not with wild Pokemon and the chance of Team Rocket still lurking around.
The Viridian shopping district was bustling. Stalls lined the streets, packed with traveling trainers and vendors calling out their deals. I stocked up on the basics first: Pokeballs, Potions and Repels. But my real focus was the berry vendor.
The sight of fresh Oran, Pecha, and Sitrus berries made my breeder instincts stir. High quality Pokeblocks weren't just food—they're strength, nutrition, and energy, shaping how well Pokémon grow.
I carefully picked the best berries, my mind already running through combinations that would suit Treecko.
Back in the Center's kitchen area, I spent the evening grinding, mixing, and pressing the ingredients into neat, cube-like Pokeblocks. Treecko sat nearby, watching me with wide eyes and tail tapping faster with every batch.
When I finished, I portioned them into airtight containers, carefully sliding them into my upgraded bag. Satisfied, I let out a breath and fell into bed early.
Route 2
The next morning we left Viridian city behind, the cobblestones giving way to the dirt path of Route 2. The grass was higher here, the road narrower.
Treecko and I didn't get far before the grass rustled and a pair of wild Pidgey darted out, wings flaring aggressively. Behind them, a Rattata poked its head out, squeaking loudly as if to join in.
"Looks like they're in the mood to test us." I exhaled, shifting my stance. "Treecko, let's keep this quick."
It didn't take long. Treecko darted forward, dodging a Gust, and countered with a sharp Rock Tomb that sent the Pidgeys scattering. The Rattata lunged, but a swift Pound sent it running back into the grass.
"Good work," I said, smiling as Treecko dusted off its hands, looking pleased. "That should keep them from bothering passing trainers for a while."
After walking for a while I heard a sharp noise, a muffled shout, followed by the crash of something heavy hitting the ground. Treecko's tail twitched, and I froze, listening.
More voices drifted through the air. Rough. Angry.
"Get her, Rattata!"
"Don't let that Squirtle get away!"
I exchanged a look with Treecko. Without a word, we moved off the path, pushing through the grass until the trees opened into a small clearing.
And there she was.
Blue stood in the middle of the field, confidence practically radiating off her. Her Squirtle launched a burst of water that slammed into a grunt's Rattata, knocking it out cold. Another grunt's Zubat swooped low, only for Squirtle to whirl and smack it from the air with a well-aimed tackle.
"Pathetic," Blue scoffed, flicking her hair back. "You Rockets are even worse than the rumors say."
The grunts exchanged a glance, muttered curses, and bolted for the treeline, leaving their fainted Pokemon behind.
Blue dusted her hands like the whole thing had been beneath her. That's when her eyes caught me at the edge of the clearing. A slow, smug grin spread across her face.
"Well, look who finally made it out of Pallet. I half-expected you to trip over your own shoelaces before you got this far."
I arched an eyebrow right back at her. "Funny, considering I don't remember you being this brave back when we were kids. Weren't you the one who cried the first time a Pidgey chased you?"
Her smirk faltered for just a second before she scoffed. "That was a strategic retreat, thank you very much. Totally different."
I grinned, satisfied. "Sure, Blue. Strategic retreat from a fluffball half your size."
Blue huffed, but her eyes gleamed with amusement. "Careful, Luna. Keep this up and I might have to prove I'm the stronger trainer right here and now."
"Big words for someone who almost lost to a Weedle last summer," I shot back smoothly.
Squirtle barked what sounded suspiciously like laughter. Blue shot it a look, then jabbed a finger at me. "You're lucky you're cute when you're smug, otherwise I'd—" She caught herself, cleared her throat, and quickly turned it into, "—I'd crush you in a battle without breaking a sweat."
I tilted my head, savoring the slip. "Didn't quite sound like that's what you meant."
She flushed slightly, then smirked wider to cover it. "Don't push your luck."
The forest loomed ahead, Viridian's shadows stretching long across the dirt path. Blue took a step forward, her tone more casual now. "Rockets are crawling in there. You should stick with me. Someone's gotta keep you safe."
I chuckled, falling into step beside her. "Safe? Please. Between the two of us, you're the one who needs the babysitter."
Blue shot me a sideways grin, clearly enjoying every second of our back-and-forth. "Then it's settled. We'll babysit each other."
Together, the two of us headed into Viridian Forest, our words still laced with challenge, comfort, and just enough warmth to make the air between us feel different.
