Hearing those words, Randy Phillips and Elizabeth Wright couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Kid, you dare threaten me? Looks like Albert Turner didn't beat the fear into you last time," Randy said coldly, sneering.
It was clear that Randy hadn't fully understood my meaning.
I didn't bother to explain further and just smiled, saying, "Randy, I hope you don't regret this."
"Regret? Regret my ass!" Randy cursed angrily.
I didn't waste any more time talking to him and turned away.
The banquet had plenty of delicious food, most of which I had never seen before.
In recent days, nearly all I had been eating were bowls of noodles.
So, not caring about appearances, I devoured the food freely at the banquet.
"What a pathetic loser," Elizabeth muttered under her breath, her eyes filled with even more disgust as she watched me.
Just then, a young man suddenly walked over to Randy's side.
This young man wasn't a stranger; he was Roger Cook, the son of Crestview City's richest man, Greer Cook.
"Randy, you're here too?" Roger walked over and greeted Randy with a smile.
Randy glanced at him and replied, "Mr. Roger, you're here as well."
Roger quipped, "Yeah, I showed up thick-skinned."
Randy chuckled and said, "Mr. Roger, stop joking around—you're the son of Crestview City's top magnate!"
Roger scoffed, "The Cook family is nothing compared to the Anderson family."
----
Hearing those words, Elizabeth and Randy immediately felt even more pride. After all, the Anderson family had invited them to the banquet.
"Mr. Roger, I heard you attended the Anderson family's banquet not long ago. So, how was it? Got any inside scoop for us?" Randy asked mysteriously.
Roger didn't hold back and replied right away, "Not exactly inside information, but I can tell you—it was hosted for the Anderson family's princess. She's said to be Frank Anderson's favorite granddaughter."
"A woman?" Randy frowned slightly.
Roger nodded and added, "And here's another tidbit—I heard Miss Anderson plans to support a young talent here in Crestview City."
"A young talent?" Randy's eyes lit up as he quickly asked, "Who could it be?"
Roger shook his head and said, "No idea, he didn't show up at the banquet."
Off to the side, Elizabeth chimed in excitedly, "Could it be us?"
Prompted by Elizabeth's remark, Randy found the possibility increasingly likely.
In recent years, the Phillips family had gained substantial influence in Crestview City, thanks largely to Randy's efforts!
And Elizabeth had inexplicably received an invitation from the Anderson family—could it really be unrelated to the Phillips family's status?
Besides, new up-and-coming young talents in Crestview City these years were few and far between!
If it wasn't Roger, then there was a good chance it was him!
Thinking of this possibility, Randy grew even more excited!
"Maybe it really is you," Roger said jokingly.
"Don't forget to give me a hand when the time comes," Roger clapped Randy's shoulder.
Randy eagerly thumped his chest and declared, "Don't worry—when the time comes, we'll team up and build something extraordinary!"
"This is great, my good days are finally here!" Elizabeth clasped her mouth, overwhelmed with excitement!
Elizabeth felt more and more thankful for the decisions she'd made.
*If she had stayed with that loser Tyler, wouldn't her life have been completely ruined?*
"That bitch—just wait until I wipe the smirk off your face!" Randy couldn't help but recall Sarah Anderson's arrogant demeanor.
He had even begun imagining scenarios in which he could humiliate Sarah!
"What's up? You look upset," Roger asked casually.
Randy snorted coldly and leaned closer to Roger's ear, whispering, "Just a stupid chick—she thinks she's hot and tried showing off to me."
"Oh?" Roger raised his brows and joked, "Who is it?"
"No idea. If I weren't concerned she came from Silverwood City, I'd have taught her a lesson already!" Randy scoffed.
Roger laughed and said, "With the Anderson family backing you, there's no need to worry about Silverwood City, is there?"
"True enough." Randy grinned arrogantly.
"Compared to the Anderson family, Silverwood City is nothing," Randy said with a casual smile.
As they spoke, Randy's gaze wandered to the distance.
Sarah Anderson stood by Tyler's side, saying something unknown.
Randy's eyes gleamed darkly as he stared at Sarah's back.
"Mr. Roger, the woman I was talking about is her," Randy said, pointing in Sarah's direction.
Hearing this, Roger followed Randy's finger and looked over.
But when Roger got a clear view of Sarah, his face instantly shifted—a drop of sweat rolled down his forehead as he stood bolt upright!
"You... you're sure it's her?" Roger's voice faltered, and his face turned pale.
"Of course!" Randy said nonchalantly, even joking, "Mr. Roger, don't tell me you're interested in her?"
"Interested in my ass! That's Miss Sarah Anderson, the Anderson family's eldest daughter! If you want to die, go ahead—don't drag me into this!" Roger snapped angrily, his voice rising in a panic.
