Chapter 12 - SOCIAL MEDIA CHAOS.

IAN KADE.

‎Sabby and Ian made their way to the hallways as Sabby was practically bouncing around "you're ready now to hear the gossip" Ian only slung his bag over his shoulder and narrowed his eyes at him "this better not be about those scandalous dates of yours" Sabby gasps dramatically "how dare you call them scandalous, but no today's tea is spicy" Ian could only groan "just spill it" Sabby immediately whipped his phone out with an evil glint in his eyes "behold... Your debut!" Ian blinked, "my what?" Sabby turned the phone around and there it was. An Instagram profile with Ian's name, handle @IcePrince and suspiciously artistic side profile picture of him. Sunlight haloed his blonde curls, he looked lost in a thought. Mysterious. Too serious.

‎Too hot.

‎Ian's eyes bulged, "you what!" Sabby squealed, holding the phone out of reach before Ian could take it "relax it's already viral, look at the comments"

‎'who's this, and where can I sign up to be heartbroken? 😭🔥'

‎'He plays hockey??are all hockey players this brooding?'

‎'I just know he smells like cedar wood'

‎'is he single, asking for 38 of my friends'

'boyfriend material'

‎Ian was fuming or trying to, what happened to keeping his head low. "Sabby what the hell!?" but Sabby only looped an arm around his shoulder, "you're welcome ice prince, you're trending. People were begging for a tag" was he even listening.

‎Ian sighed, face burning "I should report you for identity theft" "but you won't" Sabby cooed pinching Ian's cheek "besides deep down, you love it" did Ian love it? He doesn't know either, "and am too pretty to go to jail" Ian rolled his eyes.

‎"besides...." Sabby leaned in, lowering his voice "Dominic hates when someone else steals the spotlight" Ian blinked, then blinked again. "You're not serious" he said, a smile starting to form on his face "oh, but I am" Sabby purred "he's used to be the golden boy, the center of attention. You show up, play on his level, looking handsome, the public falling for you, he'll combust Ian, rage explosion, pop!" Sabby made sure to make his point clear.

‎Ian crossed his arms, smirking now, "and you think I should post more?" "Just enough to poke the beast" Sabby replied sweetly. Ian looked down at the profile again. The thought of Dominic clenching his jaw, scrolling Ian's rising follower count? Yeah. That sounded delicious.

‎"okay…" he said slowly, "maybe I'll post more just to keep the fans entertained" Sabby let out a happy squeal, "yes!" Ian only shook his head laughing "you're dangerous" "and you're finally embracing your villain era, am so proud of you ice prince" Sabby was excited. "Let's go, am hungry" Ian grumbled and Sabby was more than happy to tag along.

DOMINIC STRYKER.

‎That evening in the hockey dorm, the air was thick with sweat, and cheap cologne as the room was filled with loud music and louder egos. Beers clinked, booze all over and might I say drunk. "Yo Dom" one of the guys called from across the room "gotta say that Ian guy, he's kind of a beast" a few heads nodded in reluctant agreement, a rare moment of respect hanging between mouthfuls of chips. "Yeah" another chimed in "dude's clean on the ice, almost like you met your match" they chuckled as they hyped up on how Ian was so good. While on the other hand Dominic was lounged on the couch, legs stretched, a drink lazily swirled in hand "he's still a cheater" he said flatly, eyes fixed on nothing in particular. Everyone went quiet, guess they still had to hate on Ian, he was not yet welcomed to the team.

‎Theo unusually quite the whole evening suddenly cut in "he's right" his tone was clipped "can't just forget that kind of crap" hate was literally oozing out of him, to Theo this was something else, something more personal and no one dared ask what it was, but the signs were there. Theo abruptly stood up the moment a girl approached him like a plague, the girl was simply offering him a drink, but he looked like he was about to puke "I'm going to go get some air" was his excuse, the others blinked "dude you good?" one tried, but Theo was already gone muttering something about needing space.

‎Dominic on the other side stayed put, brows furrowing slightly, "weird" he sighed, but he'd dig into that later. He unlocked his phone, scrolling absentmindedly through his socials until he landed on that post.

‎Ian.

‎Side profile, soft smile, dramatic moody filter clearly not his own doing, and those comments? They made him scoff, "I still rule around here" he tsked, but then he smiled. A devious, stupidly amused smile "well, well someone has got a new hobby" he logged out and made a new anonymous account with a default profile pic, handle @skateandbite.

‎DM:cute post. Bet you're more fun in person.

Dominic hit send and grinned to himself, sipping his drink again. This was just getting interesting.

‎Dominic has always wondered how easily Ian was kicked out of his own team, cheating wasn't that supposed to be dramatic but here it was, and it's left lingering questions, Dominic would always protect his team, and he doesn't want to think Ian to actually have been here to steal their ideas, wasn't he? He joined their team way too quickly, nothing asked of him. That's what baffles Dominic, there was definitely something going on with Ian and his dad mostly. Maybe this way he can get his fun and also know the real intentions of Ian Kade.
