Chapter 381 - Gathering

Though Atrocitus was alone, he felt no fear facing the numerous Yellow Lanterns.

Because all his fear had been burned away by the flames of vengeance when his home planet was massacred and all his family and friends were killed, his only goal in life was revenge.

After transforming into a Red Lantern demon, everything he once was had been consumed by endless rage.

Furthermore, due to the nature of a Red Lantern, the blood flowing through his body was no longer blood, but Red Lantern energy. This meant that his fatal weakness as a living being had disappeared; to kill him, one would have to destroy his Lantern Ring.

"My rage will burn everything!"

Atrocitus's furious voice squeezed out from his throat.

On the other side, without Sinestro needing to give the order, his Yellow Lantern members prepared to capture Atrocitus.

Four Yellow Lantern members surrounded Atrocitus, then fired energy beams from their respective Rings, forming a slowly contracting cage that moved towards Atrocitus.

However, they greatly underestimated the power of a Red Lantern Lantern. Terrifying blood-red flames began to burn around his body.

This was blood-flame evolved from extreme rage, capable of burning away everything, both combustible and non-combustible, without a medium. The energy of other Lantern Rings was naturally included.

The next second, the yellow energy barrier was instantly stained with a touch of blood-red, and in the blink of an eye, it was incinerated.

Atrocitus swung his blood-flame-shrouded fist fiercely towards the nearest Yellow Lantern.

Wherever the blood-flame passed, space became distorted.

In a panic, that Yellow Lantern could only continuously create obstacles in front of him, attempting to stop Atrocitus's attack, but those burning fists shattered and burned everything!

Seeing this, the other Yellow Lanterns nearby immediately reacted and continued to fight as a group.

Sinestro had no interest in such a battle. In his opinion, Atrocitus was alone, and the only possible outcome was defeat.

He flew down in front of the Guardians, looking down at them with an unprecedented, condescending gaze.

"I never thought we would meet again in such a way. Did you ever imagine this day would come?!"

Sinestro's words, tinged with a hint of mockery, came out of his mouth.

Looking at the Guardians' perpetually rigid faces, everything from the past seemed to flash quickly before his eyes.

When he was an adventurer, he encountered a Green Lantern being hunted by a Weapon Master. As the Green Lantern was on the verge of Death, he entrusted his Ring to Sinestro.

However, after Sinestro gained the Ring's approval, the severely wounded Green Lantern requested Sinestro to use the Lantern Ring energy to heal him. But Sinestro ignored his plea for help and quietly waited for his Death.

Because there wasn't much energy left in the Lantern Ring, he didn't want to waste it on a dying person.

Only he knew about this incident; the Guardians were unaware.

Later, he used the power of the Lantern Ring to defeat the Weapon Master who was hunting the Green Lantern.

That was the first time he experienced the taste of having extraordinary power. In the end, he was summoned to Oa for training and met his mentor, good friend, and brother-in-law, Abin Sur.

However, as he gradually grew through numerous missions, he eventually completely took over the title of the greatest Green Lantern from Abin Sur.

Everything should have developed well; he even met Abin Sur's successor, Hal Jordan from Earth.

But at this time, his use of the Lantern Ring's power to establish a new ruling order on Korugar was discovered.

So he was stripped of his Lantern Ring by the Guardians and exiled, which led to the collapse of his rule on Korugar, and his wife and children all perished in the rebel uprising.

He had never believed that the dictatorial rule he established was wrong in any way; he merely wanted his home planet to always be in absolute peace.

Unfortunately, all of it was shattered, and he attributed all the blame to the Guardians before him.

"Sinestro, have you truly cast aside all the glory of once being the greatest Green Lantern?"

A Guardian stepped forward and questioned Sinestro in his usual tone.

"Green Lantern glory? I don't need such things. I now have my own Corps; I am the master."

Sinestro scoffed at the Guardian's words.

"Where are Ganthet and Sayd? Where did they go?"

At this moment, Sinestro's gaze suddenly sharpened. He realized that two of the most important figures among the Guardians seemed to be absent.

Ganthet was the oldest, wisest, and strongest among the Guardians, and Sayd was his wife.

If there was anyone among the Guardians who could make Sinestro look at them differently, it was only Ganthet!

"Those two traitors! They actually betrayed the oath the Guardians made, secretly restoring emotions, those obstacles that affect judgment. We have already expelled them!"

Hearing Sinestro's question, the Guardian very tactfully revealed the information.

However, what he said was 'expelled,' but in reality, they were secretly hunting them.

"Hahahahaha! They truly are a bunch of incorrigible idiots."

Upon hearing this, Sinestro burst into laughter, his laughter full of mockery and contempt.

Just then, a blue light curtain streaked across the sky.

Saint Walker had already led his Blue Lantern Corps to Oa.

The Blue Lanterns were the most demanding of all the Lantern Corps regarding the character of their members; all who could become Blue Lantern hosts were individuals of noble character.

Seeing Atrocitus and the Yellow Lantern Corps members fighting, they immediately intervened.

The Blue Lanterns' combat power was considered to be on the lower end among all the Corps!

However, they possessed special abilities that other Lantern Ring wielders lacked: as long as they were near a Blue Lantern host, a Red Lantern's rage would be quelled, an Orange Lantern would not feel so hungry, and a Green Lantern's energy would double.

And most importantly, the Blue Lanterns represent hope, which is precisely the nemesis of the Yellow Lantern's fear energy, capable of neutralizing Yellow Lantern energy.

In a moment, Saint Walker had already made Atrocitus and the Yellow Lanterns cease their battle.

Atrocitus's angry and brutal face had now strangely calmed down, while the Yellow Lanterns who had been fighting him looked grim, because any yellow energy they fired would quickly disappear as soon as it approached those blue figures.

Seeing such a situation, Sinestro, the main instigator, could not stand by idly. He immediately raised his hand and conjured a battle-axe, striking towards Saint Walker.

However, with a flash of blue light from Saint Walker, the weapon Sinestro had materialized slowly dissipated.

"Please do not be angry; I did not come to provoke war!"

Saint Walker's gentle voice rang out, carrying a soothing sense of peace.

"Hmph!"

Sinestro snorted, indicating his acknowledgment.

In fact, it was also because in that brief moment of contact, he understood that facing these guys was like a Green Lantern facing a yellow impurity.

The Guardians, on the other hand, all looked as if they had seen a ghost. As they watched one Lantern Corps after another appear, a terrible conjecture arose in their minds.
