"Not all battles are loud."
Carroway's text sat in Silver's phone like a splinter she couldn't dig out. Enjoy the spotlight while it lasts.
She thought the noise would die down after the weekend. She was wrong.
By Monday, Yale's social feeds were still buzzing. Half the skating club was debating what really happened with Carroway, the other half dissecting old photos like amateur detectives with too much time on their hands. Someone had posted a grainy clip of her skating alone at Ingalls, captioned: The comeback no one saw coming. It had over two thousand likes.
She hated it.
She hadn't meant to become the center of attention again. Not like this. Every time she checked her phone, there was a new theory, a new take, a new person using her name like it was trending stock. Comments ranged from supportive to invasive, and she couldn't tell which ones made her more uncomfortable.
