Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Exposed?

Inside an office at the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, the Triskelion, Nick Fury was reading the intel Black Widow had sent back.

He had dispatched Black Widow to Iron Man's side for the purpose of implementing his upcoming plan: the Avengers Initiative.

"Knock knock~"

"Come in."

Just then, a knock came from the door, and Agent Coulson entered, carrying a tablet, and walked up to Nick Fury.

"Coulson, what is it?" Nick Fury put down the documents and asked Coulson as he entered the office.

"Officer, I think you need to see this."

Coulson replied, handing over the tablet and playing a video.

The video showed Noah last night, captured by surveillance cameras as he traveled at an incredibly fast speed.

In the footage, Noah was dressed in all black, wearing a black mask and a black hat.

If not for his exposed skin not being black, Nick Fury would have almost thought he was a black man like himself.

However, the person in the video ran at a speed far exceeding that of an ordinary person.

Nick Fury estimated that the person's speed could reach around 20 meters per second, and even increased further in one video segment.

This was a speed impossible for normal humans to achieve.

Nick Fury thought of someone, a U.S. soldier who had been injected with the Super Soldier Serum.

He suspected whether the person in this video had also been injected with some kind of serum, or had acquired some other mysterious power.

"Which area were these surveillance footages discovered from, Coulson?" Nick Fury watched the footage repeatedly, his hands clasped under his chin, and asked.

"Officer, these footages were sent from the Manhattan Upper West Side Police Department.

A Police Officer discovered this video content during an inspection, and then it was transmitted to us.

We then began an investigation and also found traces of this person in more surveillance footages.

Additionally, after these videos were extracted, our Agent discovered many fight marks and many gunshot marks in a deserted factory outside the Clinton District.

Some of the marks clearly could not have been caused by humans.

Combining these videos, I speculate that this person's destination at the time was that factory, and that place, according to our Agent's investigation, had a gang engaged in some illegal activities there yesterday.

So, this person's purpose might have been to stop that group of people."

"So, you think this person is someone with a sense of justice, who gained some extraordinary power, and then fights crime like a superhero in comics?"

"Officer, this is just my speculation.

Our Agent also found that Daredevil from the Hell's Kitchen area had been seen in that place, so I suspect this person is also like Daredevil."

After listening to Coulson's report, Nick Fury nodded.

They had been keeping an eye on Daredevil's existence, and Nick Fury had also considered adding Daredevil to his superhero plan list.

"Coulson, arrange for a few people to go to the Clinton District and the Upper West Side.

Tell them to keep a close watch these next few days.

This person might appear again, and then confirm his exact location."

"Understood, Director, I will arrange this immediately."

After receiving the assignment, Coulson left the office.

Nick Fury sat there quietly, watching those videos.

-------------------------------------

At night, Noah opened the door and walked in with a sigh.

He had just completed today's daily mission: fixing up a group of thugs.

But it was only a C-rank mission, yielding only 100 essence, pitifully low compared to yesterday's achievement.

Originally, he hadn't planned to accept C-rank missions from the system.

He intended to go out himself to find some large gang transaction sites or something, and then designate a mission.

He thought this might lead to a B-rank mission, like yesterday.

However, this was his first time doing this kind of work.

He spent most of the day busy, checking every location he thought might have evil dealings, but he didn't find a thing.

"Phew, running around all night, I'm so damn tired."

Noah lay on the sofa.

With the Resolve Rune, his body certainly wouldn't be tired, but he felt mentally exhausted, after all, he had been busy for most of the day and found nothing.

"Should I go find Daredevil? He's an expert in this area, he should know information like the locations of those gang transactions." Noah thought.

Daredevil had been a superhero in the Hell's Kitchen area for so long, he should be very familiar with this information.

"But how exactly is this mission calculated? Yesterday's B-rank mission wasn't that difficult, so why was it a B-rank mission?" Noah rubbed his chin, pondering the criteria for mission levels.

He recalled the novels he read in his previous life, considering all sorts of possibilities.

"Could it be that only events related to Marvel plot characters will be high-level missions? Hmm, very likely." Noah thought.

Perhaps missions need to be linked to Marvel's superheroes or villains, and then the system can obtain some energy by changing the plot, which then allows for high-level missions.

Of course, these were all Noah's guesses; he would have to try them one by one to find out the specific situation.

"Sigh, I won't think about it anymore.

I still have school tomorrow.

I've already gone through one round of school in my previous life, why do I have to go to school again in this life?" Noah said, feeling a bit depressed that he still had to go to school in this life.

In fact, he had also thought about not going to school anymore.

After all, this was Marvel, and the World would be in chaos in a few years, so what was the point of going to school?

However, Noah went to school because of his parents in this life.

They wanted him to go to college and become a successful person; this was like their last wish.

His parents in this life—Noah felt a little sad thinking about this.

He wasn't transmigrated to replace a stranger; if that were the case, he wouldn't care so much about the original body's family ties.

But Noah was born into this World, born from his mother, so Noah still had feelings for his parents in this World.

Although his parents in this life often went on business trips for work, sometimes for several months, the last time Noah saw them, they were going on a business trip, and a month later, news came of their car accident.

This was a bolt from the blue for Noah at the time, and then he became an orphan.

"Sigh, I'll just keep studying for now.

We'll see about later." Noah thought to himself.

Although his parents' last wish was important, he still had to be flexible.

When he was busy saving the World, where would he have time to study?

Moreover, according to the system, if he drew a hero template, he would gain the hero's power.

If he drew scientific research heroes like Heimerdinger, Jayce, and Viktor, wouldn't he instantly become a genius?

Then he wouldn't need to study anymore.

Thinking of this, Noah nodded, planning to put more effort into finding missions tomorrow, quickly gather enough for another 10 consecutive draws, strengthen his power, and better deal with those crisis events.

"Time to sleep."
