Chapter 2 - Reunion

"Are you Lucas?" Adrian asked, sounding pretty confused.

"Oh, yeah—wait, who are you?" Elias said, a bit shocked. Adrian rushed over, grabbed Elias' arm, and dragged him outside while the servants looked on, completely baffled.

Once they were outside, Elias shot back, "Who are you, and how do you know my name? Did you bring me here?"

"I'm Ethan, you idiot," Adrian replied, clearly annoyed.

"Ethan! Wait, how are you here? I thought we crashed the bus. How did we end up in this place?" Elias asked, trying to wrap his head around it.

"I just woke up too, but I'm pretty sure we died and got reincarnated into this world as the sons of Baron Valemont."

They exchanged questions back and forth, lessening Elias's confusion, and both acknowledged that they had been reborn.

They needed to acclimate themselves to the cultures of this world. Taking advantage of the Baron's absence from his mansion, they decided to visit the library. They were initially surprised to find that everything was written in English, a language they could read. This made their task easier, and they began collecting information about this world, as well as came to know about magic and aura.

"This reminded me of those Japanese or Korean novels," Elias said, and Adrian nodded in agreement.

For the next few days, until the Baron returned, they tried to gather as much knowledge as possible. Even their maids, Ray and Kelly, were surprised to see the young masters dedicating themselves to their studies.

After this, they became certain of the existence of magic and aura, and the technology resembled that of the 16th century, or perhaps even more laid-back. It was stated that 1 in 1,000 has the talent to become an aura knight, and 1 in 10,000 has the talent to become a mage.

Adrian was most captivated by the concept of magic. Although there were very few books on the subject, he read them all. To him, magic felt remarkably similar to coding. Writing the structure of a spell seemed akin to writing code, while hardware represented mana—the energy source for a mage's spells.

Adrian asked Elias, "What caught your mind the most?" Elias replied, "I think I might want to become an aura spear knight; that would be so cool."

Adrian did not know that Elias liked spears, but instead of asking, he kept his mouth shut because he knew that if he asked, the answer would be that a spear is cool.

...

It was the day Baron Valemont would return. Adrian and Elias had heard he was a swordsman close to reaching the swordsmaster realm, a level at which a person could become a walking natural disaster.

In a faraway place...

A strange figure of a child appears, with purple hair and red eyes. Looking no older than six years, they seem to be wearing noble clothes.

"It seems like I have been reborn into a different world. However, the qi energy here is dense and polluted. Now, I must cultivate all the internal energy that I once had in my dantian all over again. It appears that the heavens have given me a second chance at life. I am determined to become the strongest martial artist in this world."
