Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A Russian? Sorry, not interested.

"Damn it! You want to play dirty, huh?!"

Jian Ling was so angry his teeth itched. None of the questions he crammed for before the exam showed up. What was the point of cramming then?

Just lie flat, young man.

Suddenly, the corner of his eye caught a graceful figure sitting in front of him to his left.

"Good thing I prepared for both scenarios. Before the exam, I specifically went to pray to the Thousand-Mile Eye and All-Hearing Ear." Jian Ling pretended to scratch his head, looking as if he had a deep-seated grudge against the exam setter, but in reality, his eyeballs were almost rolling out of his eyelids.

"Oh, oh, I see it, I see it, choose A." He hooked the answer with a backhand.

"Hehe, with the study expert Bronya's answer, this time it's definitely right!" Jian Ling was smug, completely oblivious to the slight tilt of the figure's head, who glanced at him with disdain before lowering her head and quickly continuing to answer the questions.

...

Last Tuesday

"Exchange student? And from Russia?" Jian Ling slurped his instant noodles, seemingly uninterested.

"Yeah, yeah! She's apparently from Siberia. I saw her moving stuff into the dorms last time." Bai Wen chattered incessantly in his ear.

"Tsk tsk tsk, that height, that figure, definitely a mature older woman!" His eyes turned into hearts, and drool flowed all over the floor.

"Hey, hey, hey, I'm eating! Put away your divine powers." Jian Ling quietly moved a bit further away.

"Besides, is it really that novel for a university to have an exchange student? And she's a Russian, no matter how good-looking, I can't flirt with her. You might get your leg broken." He didn't care at all. How good-looking could someone from a battle-hardened nation be? Even if she was genuinely good-looking, she was probably violent.

"Oh? Excuse me, I believe I heard someone discussing me." Suddenly, a very distinctive voice pierced through the cafeteria and reached Jian Ling's ears.

At this moment, the entire cafeteria fell silent.

The girl slowly walked into the cafeteria, a black trench coat draped over her shoulders, fluttering in the wind. A tight white shirt and jeans outlined a perfect S-curve, tightly embracing the two prominent, almost spilling-out mounds in front and back, showcasing an ascetic beauty that echoed her seemingly innate sense of detachment.

Most striking was her silver-grey spiral long hair, not typical of China, and her light grey pupils that radiated coldness and danger.

She crossed her arms, quickly scanned everyone in the cafeteria, and finally fixed her gaze on Jian Ling.

"Just now, was it you who called me 'Russian'?"

..."

A few seconds of silence, followed by an uproar.

"Holy crap! Who is this? I don't remember our school having such a beautiful foreign girl."

"I'm not going around! She's an exchange student, right?"

"Her Chinese is so fluent, could she be mixed-race?"

"Everyone, I'm going to ask for her phone number. Wish me luck!"

...

Ignoring the commotion of others, the girl walked directly in front of Jian Ling, propped a slender hand on the table, leaned halfway down, and stared at him with a scrutinizing gaze.

"Answer me, just now, did you call me 'Russian'?"

..."

At this moment, a million alpacas stampeded through Jian Ling's mind.

This girl's hearing is too ridiculous! Among so many people, she actually heard that it was me who said it!

"And… such a strong aura." Jian Ling felt a bit breathless under the pressure. His intuition told him that this girl was extremely dangerous!

Outwardly calm as an old dog, inwardly panicking like crazy.

"Um… this big sister must have misheard. Although I'm happy to be spoken to by a beauty, look at how many people there are here. How about you give me your number, and we can arrange another time to chat…" Jian Ling tried to change the subject, flattering her to get by.

But she just snorted coldly, straightened up, turned, and walked away, leaving behind a chilling sentence that sent shivers down his spine.

"Don't let me hear it again, otherwise… hmph…"

Even after she left the cafeteria, a group of paparazzi were still exchanging information about this astonishingly beautiful foreign girl.

"What should we do, Jian Changui? That guy seems to have set her sights on you." Bai Wen's forehead was sweating; he had also been quite shaken by the girl's aura.

"Tsk! Trouble." Jian Ling pouted, then turned to Bai Wen.

"What did you just call me, kid?"

"Huh? Ling Ge, what's up?" Bai Wen feigned ignorance.

Changui was his nickname, but he didn't like it much; it always felt unlucky.

"Speaking of which, being targeted isn't necessarily a bad thing. After all, in many anime, don't a lot of heroines initially dislike the male lead and then obediently fall into… hmm…" Bai Wen was speaking enthusiastically when Jian Ling grabbed a sausage and stuffed it into his mouth.

"Even eating can't shut you up."

...

There were no classes in the afternoon, so after eating, Jian Ling and Bai Wen returned to the dorm.

The two took out the clothes they had washed in the morning to dry, threw some other clothes into the washing machine, and then leaned on the balcony to chat.

"Huh?" Bai Wen suddenly saw something through the window and abruptly nudged Jian Ling.

"Ling Ge, look over there."

Jian Ling looked in the direction Bai Wen was pointing.

"Oh, is that the person from noon?"

They saw the silver-haired girl talking to a man wearing black sunglasses. They certainly couldn't hear what they were saying, but they could tell that the man seemed to respectfully agree to something, then quickly drove away.

"Could this guy be some kind of young lady? She even has connections here in China." Bai Wen asked curiously.

"Who knows? Maybe she just hired a bodyguard." Given her demeanor and aura, Jian Ling had no doubt she could be some kind of young lady.

"And did you notice, the car the man was driving had the E.T. Studio logo on it." Jian Ling very carefully noticed the emblem on the car body.

"Woc, really! That's a gaming giant with influence all over the world! If she's the young lady of that company, and you offended her, Ling Ge, you're in for it." Bai Wen looked at him with sympathy.

"Hey, hey! I just called her a Russian, right? She can't be that vengeful!" Jian Ling was also a little flustered.

"It's okay, if she really holds a grudge, then at most, we brothers will share the good fortune, and as for the bad… you handle it yourself, and while you're at it, help me get this girl's QQ number."

Jian Ling: "Let me scoff at you."

...

"Beep, immediately move seven meters to the left." Suddenly, an emotionless voice inexplicably appeared in Jian Ling's mind.

"!"

"Not good!" Jian Ling grabbed Bai Wen and flashed to the left.

"Hey, what are you…" Bai Wen hadn't even finished asking when, the next second.

Boom!

The high-speed washing machine suddenly exploded without warning, and various fragments and clothing debris splattered like bullets, instantly leaving the once-good dorm in ruins.

And coincidentally, not a single piece of debris landed where Jian Ling and Bai Wen had been standing.

..."

"Holy crap! Holy crap!!!" Bai Wen, realizing what had happened, his legs went weak, and he leaned against Jian Ling like a timid wife.

"Gay, stay away from me!" Jian Ling pushed him away in disgust.

"If I hadn't foreseen the danger just now, I probably would have been dead." Jian Ling felt some lingering fear but then was grateful for his ability.

Ever since he could remember, he had possessed a precognitive ability, allowing him to detect fatal dangers in advance and provide solutions, sometimes even controlling his body to avoid danger when he couldn't resolve it himself.

But it was limited to fatal dangers.

"But… how did you know the washing machine was going to explode?" Bai Wen, having recovered, suddenly asked in confusion.

"Nothing, I just felt the washing machine's sound wasn't quite right." Jian Ling brushed him off.

"The sound wasn't right?" Bai Wen was stunned but didn't think much of it.

"No matter what, if it weren't for you, I would have been dead today. Don't worry, I don't want the girl's QQ number anymore. When the time comes, I'll help you with the transfer procedures so you can wander the world and escape her pursuit."

"Get lost!"

...

Later, after inspection, it was found that the explosion was caused by substandard washing machine quality, and the school filed a lawsuit against the corresponding company… Of course, none of this was Jian Ling's concern.

Because the dorm was bombed and needed renovation, and there were no spare rooms or beds, Jian Ling could only rent a place outside tonight, while Bai Wen stayed at a relative's house.

Fortunately, the school covered the rent and provided compensation, so he didn't have to spend money, and besides a few changes of clothes, he didn't have much luggage.

"The place the school rented for me is quite secluded." The accommodation the school chose for him was in a small community not far from the school. The environment was quite good, the greenery was well-maintained, and it was at the boundary between the city and the suburbs, with few people and cars, making it relatively quiet.

Jian Ling opened the door with the key the school provided and put down his luggage.

Since it was a rented house, furniture and everything else was complete, so he didn't have to worry about not having a pot to cook or a bed to sleep on.

Just as Jian Ling was contemplating the room's layout, the opposite door behind him suddenly opened, accompanied by a slightly familiar voice.

"Hmm, I understand, then next week…"

The girl was holding her phone between her head and shoulder, talking on the phone while drying her wet hair, carrying a bag of trash to place at the door.

Noticing someone opposite, she subconsciously looked up.

Their eyes met, followed by awkwardness, confusion, bewilderment, and then shock.

"It's you! & It's you!"

"Crap, crap, crap! How could I forget, this guy doesn't live in the dorms at night, and the exchange student's accommodation is arranged by the school, so of course she lives here too!" The alpacas in Jian Ling's mind ran back and forth several times again.

"Uh… good evening, Bronya." Jian Ling greeted her with an awkward but polite smile. They were in the same department, so he knew her name was Bronya Zaychik from roll call.

However…

After recovering, Jian Ling carefully scrutinized the girl in front of him.

Her original double-spiral long hair was now completely loose, almost covering her entire back. A white short shirt paired with relatively loose shorts, standard home casual wear.

This outfit made her a little less heroic and a little more peaceful.

However, the shirt, whether intentionally or not, felt a size too small, revealing half of her navel under the pull of her two large, white 'buns'.

"Oh." Recovering from her initial surprise, she resumed her cold expression.

"What's wrong, Bronya? What happened?" A questioning female voice came from the other end of the phone.

"Nothing, I ran into a… classmate, an acquaintance." She casually brushed it off, not looking at Jian Ling again. After hanging up the towel she used to dry her hair, she carried the trash downstairs, completely ignoring Jian Ling.

"…Tsk~" Jian Ling was annoyed but didn't pursue it further. As long as she didn't hold a grudge, everything would be fine.

Thinking this, he also returned to his room, closed the door, and began to organize his belongings.
