Drinking Room
When I got home, the emptiness really hit me.
I'd just been in a bright place surrounded by people, and now I was back in my dark, quiet studio apartment. The contrast was brutal.
"Should I have just gone with them?"
It's not like I get many chances to go to karaoke with those people.
No… if I'd gone, my mood probably would've just tanked and I'd have gotten tired.
And besides, don't I already have the perfect way to shake off this lingering regret?
I hit the power button on my computer and dumped the beer and snacks I'd just bought onto my desk.
Since I'd decided to do a tipsy stream anyway, I figured I might as well drink while doing it.
Still in my clothes, I plopped into my comfy chair, quickly set up my now-familiar streaming equipment, and went live.
[Had a drink...]
???
Thought you weren't coming today lol
Lmao
The Great Mi-ro
We trusted you, Mi-ro!
The moment I started streaming, viewers poured in like they'd been waiting.
"Hello everyone~."
You drinking?
What's this??
Wow, first time hearing you slur words
"As the title says, I had a few drinks. It's been a while."
With who?
Bet she just drank alone like a loser lol
Just drink on stream!
"It was a company dinner. Not related to the Celestial Project..."
Huh
What
You have another job??
Betrayal… real betrayal...
"What betrayal? I even turned down the afterparty to come back here!"
Were there guys?
What kind of dinner was it?
You working somewhere else??
"It's not a separate job... just a part-time gig I did. It just ended, so we had a wrap-up dinner. I don't think I'll be doing it again."
[Thanks to Master Mi-ro for the 10,000 won donation!]
'This streamer sucks money out of us, what's she doing part-time for?'
"Thank you for the 10,000 won~ Sure, I make a lot now, but back then I was kinda broke, so yeah."
So there were guys?
Bruh
If you're drinking, just pass out on stream
Still hazy from the alcohol, I caught sight of a question that kept popping up in chat.
"Were there guys?" …Is this that 'unicorn' thing they're always talking about?
"Of course there were guys. Obviously."
Not that I think that's a bad thing. If anything, doesn't that mean the so-called unicorns should definitely keep watching my streams?
Whoa
What..
This is a disaster
Ugh… my horn…
I trusted you… I trusted you… I trusted you…
As expected, chat exploded.
Normally they wouldn't even show a hint of emotion, but seeing them react so sensitively now proved that they really did care about me in some way.
Maybe I should milk this while I'm drunk. I probably couldn't do it otherwise.
"But I'm with you guys right now, aren't I? I came straight home after the first round—doesn't that count for something?"
When you're trying to milk chat, actions speak louder than words.
It's not like I waited until the next day—I came straight home and went live!
Yeah… I guess that's fair
;;
Lmao
Is this really the Mi-ro I know?
Someone exorcise this demon from her body!
The Great Mi-ro
We always trusted you
[ㅇㅇ donated 1,000 won, thank you!]
Drinking and streaming is fine, but what now?
"What now?"
Good question.
I hadn't planned anything to begin with, and with the alcohol clouding my brain, I couldn't think of what to do.
"Can't I just read chat like this and coast for tonight?"
She's drunk and unfiltered lol
True thoughts on stream ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Is this how she really feels?
Honestly, it could work...
"Hahaha, I'm kidding. I'll think of something."
Hmm… what should I do?
"Since I'm drunk, how about I take questions? Like drunk confessions or something."
For real?
Isn't this gonna end in disaster?
The Great Mi-ro!
"Oh, but nothing weird, okay? Don't ask stuff that could get me sued."
I threw a text banner on screen:
[No weird questions (nothing that'll get you sued)]
"Keep it clean and post them on the fan café!"
With that, I opened the fan café for the first time in ages.
Omg, how long's it been since the café lol
The abandoned content returns?
On my personal board, I could already see new question posts piling up.
"I'll just read the titles and answer. Then move on quickly."
I went to page 1 and read the very first post.
(What level are you in LoL?)
"Level? Over 20, I think? I don't really remember."
Abandoned account confirmed…
LoL simps are doomed lol
"Wait, wasn't there some promise I made?"
She forgot lmao
You promised a horror game stream
Just call it a failed promise
Ah, yeah… I did say that.
"But I didn't set a time limit on it, right? Anyway, next question~."
I brushed it off, cracked open another beer, and moved on.
(Do you have a boyfriend?)
"That's a question? No, I don't."
(Do you have siblings?)
"Nope, I'm an only child."
(Do you have friends?)
"Of course I do?"
(No 100k subscriber event?)
"Wait, I hit 100k?"
I checked YouTube, and sure enough, my channel had passed 100,000 subscribers.
"Wow, I really did?"
Yup, second one after Anna
If you'd released that cover song, you'd have been first
So what's the event?
"An event, huh… hmm..."
I should do something.
Even though live streams are my main thing, growing my YouTube channel is definitely important for the future.
Even the company has been paying more attention to it lately.
"But what to do..."
My tipsy brain wasn't giving me any good ideas… until suddenly, one popped into my head.
A brilliant one.
When inspiration strikes, you act immediately.
I dove into the stream settings and changed the title.
[100k Subscribers Q&A]
"There. This moment is the event."
Honestly, I impressed myself with that one.
And judging by chat blowing up, so did they.
"See? You're all amazed at my genius."
Yeah right
This is for real?
The only thing amazing is your bullshit
Goddammit
Who even asked for this?
She's drunk and reckless lol
"Okay, next question."
I brushed aside the complaints with a smooth topic shift.
(Why did you drop out of college?)
"My major just didn't fit me."
That wasn't just my opinion—it was also what Kim Soo-hyun, the other me, believed.
From what I could tell, she would've been better off pursuing game art or animation.
I'd gone into design for no real reason, only to end up doing product design I had zero interest in, or struggling with 3D modeling programs I didn't even like. Honestly, even if I hadn't transmigrated, I probably still would've dropped out.
(Are you practicing guitar well?)
"I am~ going smoothly."
So I drank beer, read a question. Drank beer, read another question.
From silly throwaway stuff to surprisingly serious ones, I took in everything the viewers tossed at me like snacks to go with my drink.
Before I knew it, I was well and truly drunk.
Maybe because I'd been answering almost everything honestly, the tone of the questions started shifting.
They were getting… a little more sensitive.
But so what?
What do I have to hide?
(Is the company good?)
"Hehh… the company? It's great. They take care of everything, so it's comfortable."
Sure the company's good, but why are you laughing like that?
For real?
You're not being exploited?
Look how giggly she is lol
I heard they're pretty controlling elsewhere
"Exploiting? Nah, nothing like that. They even pay for my vocal lessons."
Truthfully, I'm very satisfied with The Six.
What other agency takes care of you this much?
[ㅇㅇ donated 1,000 won, thank you!]
Doesn't the agency take a big cut? No complaints?
"Complaints? Why would I have complaints?"
I took a sip of beer, moistening my throat before continuing.
"They're not a charity, sure, but the service they provide is more than worth it."
What do they even do?
Yeah, what have they given you?
"You guys don't see it, but they do a lot behind the scenes. I even have a manager."
Yeah, heard she had a manager
But what does the manager even do?
"My manager? Probably the busiest person of all. Has her own work, joins meetings, passes along stuff I need, even does mental care. She's totally humanities—talks in that way, you know? If it weren't me, anyone else would actually find comfort in it. I just let it go in one ear and out the other, though."
You shouldn't ignore that, you brat lol
Whoever manages Mi-ro, that's gotta be the hardest job ever
What if the manager's watching right now?
"She said she watches my streams… not sure if she's watching now though."
Imagine being her manager watching this, clutching their head lol
If she's panicking in real-time, like this comment if true ㅋㅋ
"Anyway, let's get back on track—next question."
(What do you think of the other members?)
"The members? Hmm…"
What do I think of them?
I wanted to say something nice, but the alcohol made it hard to think.
"They're… all nice?"
Liar
She's lost it
Just roast them already lol
"No, really, they're nice!"
Yeah, people called me 'nice' in school too (translation: pushover idiot)
Come on, spill the tea if you're drinking
These guys… why don't they believe me?
"Fine, if you won't believe me, then that's it. Q&A over!"
What are they gonna do if they don't believe me?
I closed the fan café window.
Ah
Sorry, Mi-ro! Sorry, Mi-ro! Sorry, Mi-ro!
Our bad..! Our bad..! Our bad..!
sry;;
We'll believe you
Just reopen it, please?
"Nope. The 100k subscriber event Q&A ends here."
That was the real 100k event?
I'm doomed
rip
I'm ruined
Can we call it a draw?
"Anyway, that's it for part 1."
So what now?
You've still got like 30 minutes to go
At least make it a 2-hour stream
I glanced at chat, then the clock—had it really been an hour just answering questions?
Wow, time really flew. I should definitely use this format again.
"So, what now?"
End the stream?
Hmm… not yet. I still had unopened beer cans.
"Hold on, let me think."
I closed my eyes for a moment, and the company dinner flashed back into my mind.
Now that I thought about it, it was a little regretful not going to the second round.
Just imagining that lineup of people, tipsy and singing their hearts out at karaoke… it must've been wild. Practically a concert.
That thought made me open my eyes again.
There, in front of me, was my monitor showing the default screen, and next to it, the live broadcast feed.
With chat scrolling endlessly and thousands of viewers watching me in real time.
If I sang here and now, with all of them watching and reacting… wouldn't that be a concert too?
Normally, I'd never dare. I'd want to show them only perfection, never risk a casual karaoke-like stream.
But tonight, with alcohol clouding my hesitation…
Before I knew it, my hand was moving. Opening YouTube. Searching for the MR of my go-to karaoke ballad from back when I was still a guy.
????
Is this for real??
Holy shit
Patience finally pays off!
How do I set the mic echo again?
I'd done it once or twice before… fumbling a bit, I finally got it set.
I took a sip of water, glancing at the chat flying by too fast to read.
Then I clicked play.
The familiar yet oddly distant melody filled my ears.
Would I even be able to sing it, after six months? I didn't have time to worry. My lips moved before the thought could settle, following the flow of the music.
And just like that, my first ever karaoke-style singing stream began.
With a healthy dose—no, an overdose—of alcohol mixed in.
The night was deep, but morning was still far away.
And thankfully, I had thousands of people to stay up with me.
