Chapter 6 - The River That Remembers

Kael wandered from the gate into a valley where time flowed like a river. Its waters shimmered with countless scenes: wars already forgotten, loves never fulfilled, prayers whispered but unanswered.

He bent down to drink, but the River spoke:"Do not drink, for in me lie all that was and all that might have been. To taste me is to drown in memory."

Kael asked, "Then what is your purpose, River, if you cannot be drunk?"

The River replied:"I am the archive of the Dreamer. Every ripple is a story spoken once and no more. I flow so the Unnamed may remember Himself through the voices of the many. Without me, the One would be blind to His own dreaming."

Kael wept at the burden of the River, for it carried infinite weight and never ceased. He knelt and kissed its waters, saying: "If you must bear all, let me bear one drop with you."

The River blessed him with a single memory not his own: the laughter of a child who had never lived. Kael held it like a treasure, knowing it was more real than kingdoms.

Thus he learned the Sixth Mystery: that memory is the burden of the One, and every soul is a fragment of His remembering.
