He pulled the trigger, but nothing fired from his weapon. I didn't yell, I was petrified but I didn't yell. After not one bullet fired from the gun I was confused.
Darion picked his gun up from the ground. He walked to the guard with a smile. The guard was even more confused than I was, he pulled the trigger to his gun multiple times. Not one bullet fired from the weapon. Darion snatched the guards hands and tossed it aside. He punched the guard in the face, dropping him to the ground. All the guards attempted to shoot Darion, but none of the weapons worked. I watched Darion press the same button he pressed earlier on the gun, it sprayed all eight other guards down with bullets.
Tampa laughed as she picked up her gun. "How the hell did you do that?"
"I've gotta deactivation button on my weapon." Darion answered. "I made these guns, I can cut them off."
The guard that he punched was harmless now. There's nothing he could do to us. Now, we were the ones ambushing him. Darion kneeled over the guy to speak with him.
"What were you going to do with us?" Darion whispered. "Exactly what was your intentions of approaching us like that?"
"To keep you from spreading our developed technology." The guard answered.
Darion put his gun against the guards head. "Your foolish to think you were going to get away with that. You people don't seem to realize who I am."
The guard pleaded for his life. "I'm sorry, I can go back and tell the President that you-"
"I hate sorry people." Darion aimed his gun at the guards head and pulled the trigger.
He just killed ten guards. Flawlessly at that, not one touched him. This meant that nothing between Darion and the President was cool now. There's no apologies that can be made, or agreements that can resolve this beef. This is full out war, meaning people are going to die.
"I can't believe this." I was speechless, those were the only words I could find.
"Believe it kid," Tampa said. "Never seen a dead body before?"
"I've seen massacres, thank you very much." I replied.
"I wonder when was that, when you were four?"
"From the age of four to the age of eighteen."
"We need to get out of here now, used the navigation tracker to find us and pick us up. Is your plane set to go?" Darion was speaking to someone on the phone. "Alright, hurry up."
"Who was that?" I asked him.
"Draper, he's on the way to pick us up. Let's go find somewhere safe to chill." Darion answered.
"Morgan?" I called her, she was in a state of shock. "Are you okay hun?"
"I'm okay." She replied, she lied. She looked awful, she looked terrified. She looked how I most likely look when the guard pulled his trigger while aiming for Darion. I took her hand.
"It's alright, we need you to remain strong with us. You can get us through a lot if your stable."
"I'm not used to this."
"It's okay,"
"It's not okay, I'll get over it though. Thank you, I'm fine."
She let go of my hand and walked alone. We followed Darion to wherever he was taking us. We were walking on the sidewalk when two cars pulled up in front of us. Jamile opened the passenger seat of the car.
"Split up in both cars." Jamile said.
"I'll take the wheel." Darion replied as he walked to the driver's side. "Rose your with me."
"What, I ain't getting in no backseat." Jamile called out loud enough for Darion to hear.
"Then I suggest you get in the other vehicle!" Darion called back.
Jamile rolled his eyes and got out the car. He walked to the second car, Jordan got out of the driver seat of that vehicle and traded places with Jamile. Jamila went in the car with her brother.
"Felix your with us." Darion yelled to the other car, Felix was in the passenger seat. "The rest of you take a different route back to the plane!"
"Alright, see you there!" Jamile,
Darion, Jordan, Draper, Felix, and I were the only ones in the car. Draper went from the driver seat into the back for Darion. I sat in the passenger seat as we drove. We finally were in familiar grounds after awhile. I was happy to be in traffic, for the first time ever.
The moment was still too much to sink in. We've been so prepared for this meeting with the President, yet everything seemed like it went totally wrong. This whole thing went sideways, now this was a guarantee for war with the President.
After while, we weren't in traffic anymore. But we weren't alone either in the streets, there were few cars in sight though. After awhile, I notice the same car took each turn we did. I watched the black car with tented windows trail us through the rearview mirror, soon Darion took notice as well.
"Baby, we can't take them to the plane." I said softly.
"I'm not," he replied. "I noticed them behind us awhile ago. How many cars with tented windows you've seen around besides the ones who guard the President? None, exactly. So I knew the second I saw them that they were going to be on my ass. I texted Draper, he knows we're not coming yet. I told him we'll be late until we get them off our ass."
I forgot that Darion's a genius, even under pressure. "Okay baby, I think we need to get back in traffic. Other people need to be around us, then they won't be able to do anything."
"But keep on following us that is. No, we need to fucking get rid of them."
"How will we get rid of them Darion?"
"We fucking kill them!"
I sighed. "Where are we going to kill them Darion?"
"They're gone." Jordan's soft voice spoke, he seemed so calm. Even in this situation, I wish I could be the same way. Instead, I was too alert. Everything paranoids me, I haven't been in a situation where I can lose my life in years.
I turned back, to see the black car was gone. "Where the hell did they go?"
I turned to my front again, just to see more vehicles ahead of us. They were lined up, blocking the rode. A few men were in the vehicles, a few men stood up with weapons aimed.
Darion had no other choice, he stopped the car. He reversed the vehicle and drove back, they pulled the trigger to their guns. Only this time, bullets actually fired.
Darion yelled urgently for us to get down, I ducked my head immediately. The bullets clashing against the car filled my ears. I felt the glass that shattered from the shots fired, the windshield was shot multiple times if it just shattered like that. The sound of bullets entering the steel of the car was horrifying, the feeling of death filled me.
Finally, the firing stopped. I wasn't shot, but glass cut my hands and the back of my neck. If I didn't cover my head with my hands, I'd probably be dead. After knowing the firing was put to halt, the first thing I did was call Darion's name. The car wasn't driving, he didn't answer me. Panic filled me.
I turned to him and pushed his arm. I called his name again, a few more times. I didn't stop, I wasn't going to stop until he answered me. My voice tone increased, soon I was yelling.
"Rose! Be quiet!" Jordan called at me from the back.
"Fuck you!" I yelled at him.
The car door from my side opened. The man snatched me and yanked me from the car. He pushed me, I hit the street hard. Three men stood over me, guns aimed in my eyes. I was crying, I was crying hardly. Darion didn't answer me, he should had answered me.
I looked to the car, behind the men in my face. They pulled Felix from the car, they tossed his corpse to the ground. I couldn't see the men on the driver's seat side well enough, so I attempted to stand. They didn't allow me to stand, they pushed me back into the ground. My body was sore, I was weak. There's nothing I can do, I'm defenseless.
They threw Jordan to the ground beside me. He caught himself by his hands before his body hit the street. That was smart, because he prevented from having scrapes on his body like I do.
The men lifted me from the ground. I yelled as one of them gripped me tightly so I couldn't struggle as the other man put a blindfold over my eyes. Jordan called my name, but I wasn't caring for him at the moment. I wanted to know if Darion was alright, that's all I needed to know.
"Rose, calm down! Keep tame of your composure!" Jordan's voice commanded.
"Where's Darion? Darion!" I yelled.
I was completely blindfolded, everything was darkness. I was being pushed and forced to walk, I did my best to fight my way out. I failed, they picked me up and carried me. I attempted to bite the closest flesh to me, but was punched in the face.
The punch left me in a gaze, I swear I think I saw stars. My lip was most likely busted, soon I could taste the blood. I felt myself being tossed from theirs arms and hit against a wall of something hardly. I was pinned against the ground, my hands were tied. Soon, my feet were as well. Shortly after, I heard a bang and slight groan. Meaning, someone was thrown in with me. Following the groan, I heard doors slammed close. That meant we were inside a vehicle.
I heard the engine begin to the car, then we were moving. The drive felt so slow and long. I was tired, exhausted, I just needed to sleep. After awhile, I finally fell asleep.
"Rose, is your mouth still covered?" A soft voice caught my attention.
"It was never covered." I replied.
"Darion wasn't shot, everything's going to be okay." I recognized the voice as Jordan now.
They must had covered his mouth because he was talking too much. Instead of covering mine, they just punched me in it so I wouldn't speak again. It hurt to speak, but I'm not going to let them defeat me by not speaking. I tried the very best I could to at least mumble out the words for Jordan to understand.
"How the hell do you know?" I replied.
"I saw him, that's how. Now lose your fuckin attitude. How long have we been through shit like this?"
"Not in a fuckin while Jordan."
"Well we've been through this more than we've been out of it." I didn't reply to him, so he continued. "Exactly, now stay calm. Remember everything you learned, your letting this Darion nigga make you weak. You aren't weak, you aren't scared. Your the smartest person I know, your the stronger person I know. We can get through this if we play it smart."
The vehicle we were in stopped. Yet again, I chose not to reply to him. It didn't take for them to open the door, my best inference is that we're in the back of a truck. I heard a groan from
Jordan, they must had grabbed him. That meant I'll certainly be grabbed next, which I was.
We walked, it felt like we walked forever. We entered a building, I could tell by the sound of an opening door. Then by the noise of our footsteps in the hallway. We were walked down stairs, then thrown into another wall. This time I hit my head, I fell to the ground. A sharp pain quickly raged in my head. I sat and cried silently until the door was slammed closed. After the door was closed, I cried louder with deep sobs.
