It all happened like a blur.
Sobin, 27 years old, married to the most beautiful woman in the world—at least, according to him—and an expectant father, encountered a fatal truck accident.
His chances of survival: zero.
No one would have expected him to actually live through such a horrific accident, not to mention suddenly finding himself in a completely different world. His dark brown hair danced with the wind, and the dark crimson luster in his eyes flashed in surprise as the scenery around him changed.
One second, his life was flashing before his eyes while the image of his pregnant wife constantly burned through his head.
The next moment… he found himself in a dark, empty street.
With his gray uniform clinging tight to his well-toned 6'3 ft figure, he disembarked from his vehicle and looked around the desolate region he had suddenly found himself in.
No human was in sight.
The winds howled and echoed an unfamiliar danger that Sobin was not too acquainted with.
"I guess I won't be able to complete my delivery, after all…" He muttered to himself and sighed, gently patting the truck behind him.
He had worked as a deliveryman for nearly a decade now, and his attachment to his occupation could be seen by the troubled expression on his face. Even now, completely trapped in an alternate reality, he was completely unfazed by the sudden circumstances.
His fixation remained on his job.
"Will the boss penalize me for this? But if I explain to him that I almost died and suddenly found myself in a strange place, maybe he'll let it go…" Sobin continued to whisper while taking a good look around him.
Just as he suspected… he had no clue whatsoever regarding where he was.
And right when he thought things couldn't get any weirder, a sudden blue window appeared right in front of him. It flashed with iridiscent azure light, blazing through the dimness of the world to present him with floating letters that boldly spelled out to him:
[Due to a spatial anomaly, you have been transmigrated to this world, Sobin.]
'Eh? What's this?' Sobin was flustered upon seeing the floating message. 'Where did it come from? How does it know my name?'
At first, Sobin thought this had to be a prank.
However, after thinking for some time, he realized that it wasn't actually possible for something like this to suddenly appear out of nowhere. He was more concerned with how the message was able to identify him.
'And what does it mean by transmigration? Is this like those novels that my sugarplum is obsessed with?' By "sugarplum", Sobin meant his wife.
She was an avid otaku who read tons of light novels, collected action figures, merchandise, and so on. In fact, she was such a nerd that he met her during one of his deliveries and nearly hit her with his truck.
He got down to apologize to her, but she seemed rather distraught that his massive vehicle hadn't slammed into her and killed her instantly.
In her own words: "Noooo! You ruined my isekaiiiiii!"
Sobin never forgot those words, and back then, he thought she was crazy. He still considered her a pretty big nutjob, but love had a way of making the craziest of people endearing to a person, so despite her insanity… he loved her dearly.
He only worried sometimes about the kid they would bring into this world.
He wouldn't want her to shed tears of regret anytime she survived a fatal accident… unlike her weirdo mother.
"If this is an Isekai, then this means the System is correct. I was supposed to die in my truck accident, but I got transmigrated into another world. And this window… it must be the System Panel that she's always talking about as well…"
After digging through his memory for a little bit, Sobin felt he was up to speed with the current developments.
He had truly transmigrated to another world!
'I thought those were just works of fiction! How is this possible?' The System told him it was due to a spatial anomaly, but that was too vague.
In these kinds of stories, individuals were usually summoned through Magic or Divine Power, and they were specifically chosen to save the world—something along those lines. However, it seemed like Sobin's arrival in this world was purely accidental.
A coincidence.
A spatial mistake of cosmic proportions.
Either way, Sobin felt powerless in the situation. He was just a regular deliveryman who had no idea what to do from this point on. In such a moment, the only thing he could rely on was the System.
"Tell me more, System. What's going on and what am I supposed to do now?"
[System Notice]
{Due to the otherworldly imbalance that you have caused by arriving here, you will be unable to leave this world until you have completed all the Quests. Afterwards, you may safely leave this world and return home. If you forcefully try to leave, you will shatter this reality, and it will perish.}
Sobin felt that the System was a little too grim in its explanation.
However, he was overjoyed by the prospects of returning home. He hadn't expected that to be an option, and he almost broke down at the thought of never seeing his family again.
But now… there was hope!
"How many Quests are there in total?" He asked calmly, arms now folded. 'I would honestly prefer it if I could leave now, but I don't even know how to go back home. Besides, it seems like I'll be dooming this entire world if I forcibly try to leave."
Sobin would still leave this world without a second's notice, even if it meant dooming everyone here. He truly only cared about being with his family.
Unfortunately… he didn't even know how to 'forcibly' leave this world.
He was completely stuck.
[Total Number of Quests: 999,999,999]
"Eh?" Sobin's eyes widened at the sight. "That many Quests?!"
Each Quest could be considered a mission, so the mere fact that he had to complete over nine hundred million missions seemed absolutely absurd to him.
How in the world was this even allowed?
It was too unfair!
'Might as well have told me I'm stuck here! How am I expected to complete that many missions?'
As though listening to his thoughts, the System brought forth a new set of information.
[System Notice]
{The completion of certain quests automatically cause other Quests to be completed. Think of them like chain missions that guarantee the completion of multiple others. Do not worry about the volume of the Quests. If you work hard enough, you can complete them in no time}
"Hmm… how do I trust you?" Sobin narrowed his eyes in suspicion. The System felt like a used car salesman, trying to convince him to give it a try.
He couldn't help but have his guard up.
But… in the end, he had no choice but to trust the System. Without any other source of information to explain his predicament, Sobin could only keep relying on the System's words.
"I see. And can I look at the list of Quests? From least dangerous to most dangerous."
[Of course!]
{Please note that some more Quests will be added as you progress in this world, but this is the current list of Quests available to you now.}
In a flash, a long list of various Quests appeared before Sobin.
He went through them and realized that most of them were E Rank and D Rank. There was one C Rank Quest, but it involved taking out a "Hive Region," something Sobin was unfamiliar with at the time.
"Looking at this, it seems like the best approach is to complete the Quests in a sequential order."
Sobin quickly realized that he would be most effective, especially for now, if he started with the small and important Quests that guaranteed him even more Quests opening up for him.
That way, he would be able to complete Chain Quests and speed up his process of his return.
"Seems like getting registered in this world takes priority. I'll have to get a job… and it seems the System is pushing me towards getting a Deliveryman job." Sobin slowly nodded and began to make plans in his head.
Sobin looked at the truck behind him and made a light smile.
'At least I have good ol' Bessie with me. Strangely enough, she doesn't seem damaged at all despite the accident. Then again, I also feel perfectly fine… so I guess it's not so strange.'
With a truck, becoming a Deliveryman wouldn't be too difficult.
The problem was getting a license and the required ID in this new world. As desolate and rundown as the environment around him was, Sobin could recognize that this was a modern world.
That meant things like computer records and a whole bunch of complicated digital complexities.
Sobin didn't originally exist in this world, so it would have no records of him.
This would definitely be a problem.
'But I have to try, at the very least…' He sighed, slowly opening the door to the truck's driver's seat. After entering the vehicle, he turned on the engine and—much to his relief—it started.
"Whew!"
Sobin's smile widened as his eyes flashed with radiance.
"I should accept the Quest of Registration. The System should direct me to the Registration Center, so I probably don't need a GP—"
"MASTER!" A shrill, feminine voice suddenly echoed from the truck, reverberating throughout the interior of the car. "Can you hear me, Master? This is Bessie!"
Sobin's eyes widened immediately the moment he heard his truck speak.
'What in the world is happening?!'
