Chapter 31 - Dating Guides are Useless, Action is Best

The group strolled along, each with thoughts of their own, while only Ji Tang kept an unreadable expression. Bai Zilu wondered in secret: was Ji Tang's worldview shaken by that movie.

Indeed, Bai Zilu also wanted to pry open the screenwriter's skull to see what was inside that could produce such a world shaking horror comedy.

But since Ji Tang did not show obvious rejection, did that mean Ji Tang could accept same sex relationships. Bai Zilu's eyes lit up at once. Bai Zilu nudged Ji Tang. "Hey, what do you think of that film."

Ji Tang caught Bai Zilu's fidgeting hand and said, thoughtful, "Feels like that kind of freakish subject matter earns a lot, does it not. Next time I will invest too." Ji Tang had no intention of relying on Gu Qianran forever. Seeing the two ahead starting to have a mutual crush atmosphere, Ji Tang felt it would be better to keep some distance.

Bai Zilu did not know what face to make.

Should Bai Zilu be happy that Ji Tang held Bai Zilu's hand, or angry that Ji Tang could not see Bai Zilu's feelings.

"Ha. Woman. Go live with your stinking money. I now declare I am breaking up with you unilaterally for five minutes. If I pay you any attention, I will not be surnamed Bai."

Ji Tang glanced doubtfully at the tsundere Bai Zilu. "Had this person added strange drama for herself again. Forget it. I will be proper and live with money."

Miraculously, Bai Zilu read that thought right off Ji Tang's face. Furious, Bai Zilu tugged Ji Tang's arm. "Ha. Player."

Up ahead, Gu Qianran and Bai Ziyuan turned their heads in unison, saw it was Bai Zilu, then tacitly turned back and continued walking hand in hand.

What. A clown shouting in public. Oh, it is Bai Zilu. Then never mind.

Ji Tang had fully resigned herself to Bai Zilu's habit of constantly adding drama. Ji Tang casually ruffled Bai Zilu's hair and said in a mild voice, "Do not make trouble."

Bai Zilu quieted at once. "So this was a domineering president voice. Love it, love it." Seeing that seven parts indulgence and three parts helplessness on Ji Tang's face, Bai Zilu started secretly giggling again.

After wandering a while longer, Gu Qianran bought a few things, then took Bai Ziyuan home. Feeling the warmth of Bai Ziyuan on her back, Gu Qianran narrowed her eyes in contentment.

Truly, high school was the age suited to dating. As for following the rules, that belonged to the previous life. Besides, the person Gu Qianran liked was sitting on the back seat right now, arms around Gu Qianran's waist.

After dropping Bai Ziyuan off, Gu Qianran looked at her a couple more times, as if to fix her in memory. Gu Qianran's voice carried a lightness. "See you tomorrow, little cutie."

Bai Ziyuan beamed. "See you tomorrow, Ran Ran."

On the way home, the curve at Gu Qianran's lips never fell.

Through the window, Li Junyao watched the very cheerful Gu Qianran and a vicious glint flashed in his eyes. His macho pride surged again and he strode toward Gu Qianran.

Gu Lian wanted to stop Li Junyao, but shrank back under one look from him. Li Junyao gave a wild grin. Tch. No matter how capable, a bastard born girl is still only that, and will prove useless in the end.

He never expected that he would not get the better of this supposedly useless girl.

As soon as Gu Qianran entered, she saw the male lead Li Junyao, smiling with a twisted sarcasm, glaring as if his eyes were about to pop out. Ah, no, right now it seemed Gu Qianran was the one holding the male lead script. The one in front at best counted as a vicious male supporting role.

Gu Qianran could not understand what stunt he was pulling now. Gu Qianran just wanted to go to her room and research how to date and win over a wife.

Li Junyao closed in on Gu Qianran with a cold laugh, speaking in an icy tone. "At noon today, you dared show me a face. Who taught you to do that. Bastard girl."

He had thought Gu Qianran would fly into a rage, yet the other remained calm, even with a hint of pity in her eyes.

Gu Qianran felt this male lead's brain was certainly not quite right. If he were normal, he would never take the initiative to provoke Gu Qianran.

Gu Qianran fixed Li Junyao with a mildly impatient look. When she spoke, it was still in her usual even tone. "The Law on the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency."

"What." Li Junyao did not follow.

Gu Qianran repeated it. This time he finally understood that Gu Qianran was roundabout accusing him of criminal intent toward Bai Ziyuan. He gave a creepy chuckle and pressed closer to Gu Qianran. "Why would she not like me. You two are just playing hard to get, are you not. Hm. Women."

His one meter seventy something height was, in his mind, oppressive. Then he was startled back by the hammer in Gu Qianran's hand.

Why did this person carry a hammer on her. This was as ridiculous as a girls' dorm keeping dumbbells.

Holding the newly bought handcrafting hammer, Gu Qianran gave a cold snort. She had had the sudden idea to make something, and the tool ended up being used here.

"Li Junyao, a person benefits from knowing his own limits." Gu Qianran poked him with the hammer head, once and again, pushing him back step by step.

Shivering on the side, Gu Lian thought, I know this scene well.

Li Junyao tried to salvage some pride and opened his mouth, but after another poke from Gu Qianran, he became obedient. Gu Qianran continued the barrage. "You. Why should someone like you. What about being a bastard. Is that not a man and a woman's joint product. Or are you special and not human."

"A bastard who has talent, a sense of responsibility, performance, and money. What do you have."

She waved the little hammer in front of his eyes in mockery, and Li Junyao dropped onto the floor in fright. He had a gut feeling that if he did not yield right now, that hammer would absolutely crack his skull.

"You. You have a hammer." With that, she did not care what face Li Junyao was making and went straight upstairs. Gu Qianran did not want to roast someone every day, but since Li Junyao kept delivering his head, not collecting it would be letting down Li Junyao's probable trade of intelligence for birth.

To speak honestly, Li Group was a lukewarm company as it stood. This heir did not interest Gu Qianran. She did not want to play a royal war with Li Junyao now. She just wanted to study how to woo a wife.

Gu Lian watched the green spread over Li Junyao's face and felt an odd sense of finding an ally. She had just wanted to sidle up and speak when she caught a cool glance from the expressionless Gu Qianran.

Gu Lian flinched reflexively and hurried to follow Gu Qianran upstairs. She had learned that every little move of hers could not escape this rebel daughter's palm. Scheming against Gu Qianran in this life was impossible.

Upstairs, Gu Lian confessed at once. "Qianran, I should not have told Junyao where you were going."

She dared not delay even a moment, afraid that Gu Qianran's mouth would reduce her to nothing.

Gu Qianran silently clenched her teeth. She knew it. "That little wretch Li Junyao had planned this. So you told him."

In her heart there were ten thousand curses, which merged into one cold sentence. "Crawl for your grandpa."

No, rather, "Gu Lian, do not forget your purpose. Use your brain and do not cause trouble. Otherwise expect a lawyer's letter."

Gu Lian hurried out of Gu Qianran's room. They say the rod makes a dutiful child. She had beaten out a scourge.

At last Gu Qianran had time to read dating guides. The search results deeply disappointed Gu Qianran.

Were these old routines not already stale more than ten years ago in the previous life. Did anyone really fall for that.

Fine then. It seemed she would have to act in person. She refused to believe she could not win a mere Bai Ziyuan.

Toward evening it began to rain again, but there was only rain and no thunder. Ji Tang, already used to sleeping with warm Bai Zilu in her arms, paused slightly, then realized that this habit had formed in only a week and a half.

Habit was a strange thing. Ji Tang's mood suddenly grew complicated and an inexplicable reluctance arose. Ji Tang looked at Bai Zilu by reflex and met a knowing look in return.

Outside the window the fine rain pattered. Inside the room the two held each other and fell asleep.
