The next day, Mochizuki Yo went to school as usual, though he mostly slacked off in class.
As long as the teacher didn't notice him, he was in a daze, wishing he could take out his phone to write, but that would be too obvious.
If the teacher occasionally looked his way, he would pretend to listen attentively.
After school, Mochizuki, though somewhat unwilling, still went to the Service Club.
Pausing at the Service Club's entrance, Mochizuki thought for a moment, then knocked on the door.
Soon, a cool voice came through.
"Please come in."
Mochizuki Yo curled his lip, then pushed the door open.
Yukino Yukinoshita was already sitting upright in her chair, reading, dressed the same as yesterday.
Mochizuki Yo walked to the chair opposite Yukinoshita, sat down casually, took out his phone, and prepared to write.
Although the results of the newcomer selection hadn't been released yet, Mochizuki Yo believed in his work, or rather, he believed in the excellent works of his previous life!
"Ara, I thought the 頹廢君 wouldn't come today? And he even knows how to knock, which I'm quite pleased with compared to Miss Shizuka."
"It's quite nice to be able to enjoy the air conditioning and play on my phone here, and it would be even better if the Club President didn't speak."
Mochizuki Yo retorted, glad he was clever enough to knock.
Yukinoshita lightly snorted, glared at Mochizuki, and then said nothing more.
Mochizuki Yo sat for a while, made a small start on volume 2, then felt a bit bored and decided to talk to Yukinoshita.
"Hey, Yukinoshita... President, don't clubs need three members to be established? But the Service Club only has two people," Mochizuki Yo asked curiously.
Yukinoshita put down the book she was reading, marking her place with a bookmark. Then she looked up at Mochizuki, seeming a little surprised by his initiative to speak.
"Yes, that's why the club hasn't been officially established yet. We only managed to apply for the activity room with Miss Shizuka's help."
"I see, so it's going to go out of business then!"
"Please speak properly, Wangyue Member."
"I am speaking seriously! Isn't that the truth? And no one has come seeking service either!"
Yukino Yukinoshita gritted her teeth, feeling like this guy was opposing her again.
"It's just that the people seeking to join don't meet my requirements. Does Wangyue Member want my service?!"
"Requirements? What requirements?" Mochizuki Yo sensed Yukinoshita's ill intent and directly ignored the latter half of her sentence.
"Well, if it were according to my requirements, I might not even look at Wangyue Member. It's mainly because of Miss Shizuka."
"What?! I was forced to join, hey!"
Yukinoshita revealed a triumphant smile and picked up her book to savor it again.
Seeing this, Mochizuki Yo decided to leave early and go shopping.
"I'm leaving first, President."
"Mm." Yukinoshita responded softly, without lifting her head.
Arriving at the familiar supermarket, this time Mochizuki Yo didn't head for the instant noodle or snack sections, but instead went to the fresh produce area.
Mochizuki Yo casually selected some fresh vegetables and meat dishes.
Then he remembered that his home didn't have various seasonings, so he went to the oil and grain section.
Mochizuki Yo carefully selected some common seasonings on the counter: MSG, soy sauce, salt, moving slowly along.
Then he accidentally bumped into a girl who was bent over, intently looking at a shelf and thinking.
"Sumimasen."
"Sumimasen."
A boy and a girl, two voices sounded simultaneously.
Both quickly apologized and looked at each other, then showed surprised expressions.
"Mochizuki-kun." "Shiina?"
What a coincidence, but then again, there's only this one large supermarket nearby.
"What a coincidence." Mochizuki thought about how high the probability of running into Shiina lately was; he hadn't seen her at all in the first month after moving in.
Actually, it might have just been that Mochizuki hadn't noticed Shiina.
"Mm." Shiina looked at Mochizuki's shopping basket, revealing a kind smile.
"Mochizuki-kun came to buy groceries, that's good. It seems Mochizuki-kun has also realized the importance of eating well."
Mochizuki Yo felt like a good child being praised by Shiina.
"Mm-hm, occasionally I improve my meals."
Then Mochizuki looked at the shelf Shiina had been bending over to look at. The shelf displayed special hot pot meal kits, but there was a large sign stating a limit of one per person.
"Are you buying this? I'll buy one for you."
"Really? Arigato!" Shiina was delighted.
"Mm, no problem."
Then the two walked to the checkout counter; there weren't many people in line.
Shiina went first, paid, and then took out an eco-bag to put her items into it one by one.
Mochizuki Yo hadn't expected Shiina to be so environmentally conscious, bringing her own eco-bag for shopping.
Immediately after, Mochizuki Yo also finished checking out. He walked towards Shiina, who was waiting nearby.
"Here you go." Mochizuki handed the special meal kit to Shiina Mahiru, and Shiina handed the money to Mochizuki.
"Thank you."
Then the two planned to leave. However, as soon as Shiina picked up her shopping bag, her body swayed, and she almost fell.
It seemed Shiina Mahiru's bag was very heavy.
Seeing this, Mochizuki Yo quickly said, "Let me help you carry it."
"Eh, no, it's fine. Mochizuki-kun has helped me so much already, I'm already embarrassed."
"It's not cute to refuse at this point, you can take mine instead, we'll help each other."
Seeing this, Shiina Mahiru no longer refused.
Compared to Shiina's full shopping bag, Mochizuki's purchases were fewer and quite light, so Shiina picked them up effortlessly.
Soon, the two returned to the apartment.
Mochizuki first asked Shiina Mahiru to wait for him at the door, as he needed to return the cleaned lunchbox to her.
