Chapter 10 - The Bet About Sean

When they reached school, Sani wondered, "Is Sean in school or not? We didn't even meet him on the way."

Jason said, "Hey Sani, don't you think it's strange? We didn't see Sean on the road today."

Sani nodded. "Yeah, Jason. I think he's already in class."

"Are you sure?" Jason asked.

"Not really. I don't believe you," Sani replied.

"Then let's see who wins," Jason challenged.

"Let's see," Sani said.

As they reached the classroom, Jason said, "I'm going to check first if Sean has come or not."

"Wait, wait! Why you? I'm going to see him first," Sani said quickly.

"Why?" Jason asked.

"What do you mean why? It's simple—I'll see him first," Sani replied.

"No, I will," Jason said.

"Why?" Sani asked again.

"Because I'm taller than you," Jason answered.

"What? Are you making fun of me? Now I'm definitely going to see him first!" Sani said.

They started arguing right at the classroom doorway.

Just then, the teacher arrived. "Umm… why are you two fighting at the door?"

Sani said, "No, sir, we were just going into the class."

Jason added, "Yes, sir, we're not fighting. You know we're best friends."

The teacher frowned. "Do you think I am blind?"

Jason quickly replied, "No, sir! You have very beautiful eyes, sir."

Sani silently pinched him and whispered, "Let it go."

"Okay, okay," Jason muttered.

"Sir, we're going to class," he said again.

"Wait," the teacher stopped them. "Who told you that you could go in? Stay here for at least 15 minutes."

"But sir—" Sani began.

"No arguments!"

Sani whispered angrily, "It's your fault."

Jason replied, "How is this my fault? It's yours!"

"Keep silent! Do you want 15 more minutes?" the teacher warned.

"No, sir," Jason said quickly.

"Then keep quiet."

After 15 minutes, they finally entered the class. Sani and Jason looked around—but Sean was not there.

Sani thought, "He didn't come today… why? What happened to him?"

Jason sighed. "Uhh… you win."

"Why?" Sani asked with a small smirk.

"See? I win," she said proudly.

"Fine," Jason muttered.

The first period ended and the bell rang. The second period started, but the teacher had not come yet. Jiwoo and Haneul walked in.

"What happened to you guys? Why did the teacher tell you to stand outside?" Jiwoo asked.

Sani pointed at Jason. "It's his fault. He was arguing with me."

"Me? No, it was you!" Jason argued.

Haneul sighed. "Okay, okay. Why are you both fighting like kids?"

"I'm not!" Sani said. "Fine, I'll tell the story. This idiot challenged me about who would see Sean first."

Jiwoo frowned. "Why are you fighting over Sean?"

Jason said, "I'll tell the full story—"

"Why will you tell them? I already told them!" Sani interrupted.

Jiwoo raised his hands. "Woah, woah… calm down, guys."

Just then, Sean walked into the classroom.

"Hey guys, sorry. I couldn't come for the first period," Sean said.

Haneul smiled. "Thank God you're here! Because of you, Sani and Jason were arguing."

Sani quickly said, "No, not because of him. We were just—"

"I—" Jason started.
