Hit-Girl, ever curious, arrived uninvited, watching Lin Chen draw the talisman with intense focus.
"What are you doing, smelly Taoist? What kind of talisman is this?"
Lin Chen chuckled, "This talisman is quite powerful. It's called the Peach Blossom Talisman. Maybe it can help you find a step-mother."
"Step-mother? What the heck! My Big Daddy isn't interested!" Hit-Girl pouted, her expression one of disdain, just like a local ruffian.
"With a step-mother comes a step-father, Mindy, you poor thing," Tony said with a laugh.
"You're not cute at all, stinky Mr.!"
Big Daddy, however, heard the hidden meaning, and his mind was stirred. He trembled, "Taoist, don't lie to children."
"I never lie!"
Harley Quinn rolled her eyes, pretending she hadn't heard. This Taoist seems to lack a certain self-awareness.
Big Daddy, who had experienced the talisman's effects firsthand, and knew they were great, pulled out all his money. "Taoist, give me a dozen!"
Mindy was on the verge of tears. "Waaah, you're not my Big Daddy!"
Lin Chen shook his head. "My talismans rely on fate. You can't just buy them."
Big Daddy's expression immediately turned sour.
"However, I can sell you one," Lin Chen chuckled, gently tossing the newly completed Peach Blossom Talisman, which landed perfectly in Big Daddy's hand.
Tony Stark scoffed. "Okay, so the fortune-telling is accurate, I'll give you that. But now you're running a marriage agency? Too far."
"Then let's wait and see," Lin Chen said lightly. He was curious to see the talisman's effect himself.
At that moment, a flight attendant came over to serve drinks. The flight attendant, a woman in her early thirties with a hot figure, offered a drink to Tony.
Tony glanced at her, about to say something.
"Oh!" The flight attendant tripped, her left foot catching on her right, and stumbled forward.
A dark figure suddenly stepped forward; it was Big Daddy, Damon!
He firmly caught the falling flight attendant, and asked in a low, magnetic voice, "Ma'am, are you alright?"
The flight attendant, still shaken, felt Damon's strong arms and heard his magnetic voice. She immediately fell for him.
"I'm fine, thank you, sir." She stared at Damon, stars practically in her eyes.
Damon helped the flight attendant to her feet.
"My name is Kate, and I'm not married. Thank you for your help," Kate said to Big Daddy, a little flustered.
Everyone almost dropped their jaws. "Unmarried? What's that about?"
Big Daddy was a little stunned. A stroke of good luck this fast?
He replied in a deep voice, "I'm not at liberty to reveal my name."
Kate clasped her hands in a gesture of respect, her eyes filled with adoration. "I understand. You're so man-ly."
Mindy couldn't take it anymore. She glared at Lin Chen and walked over, standing in front of Big Daddy.
"I'm his daughter. My mother has already passed away, and my dad isn't interested in getting to know new women."
Kate patted Mindy. "What a cute and sensible child. I know your father is single..."
Mindy...
Big Daddy pushed Mindy away and started chatting enthusiastically with Kate. They found a lot of common ground, flirting with each other as if a bomb couldn't separate them!
Harley Quinn almost dropped her jaw. She quickly started patting down Lin Chen.
Lin Chen immediately covered his chest. "Harley, what are you doing? Everyone's here, let's talk later."
"Taoist, I just wanted to see if you had that Peach Blossom Talisman. Otherwise, how could I..."
Lin Chen laughed. "You're overthinking it. I rely on my true abilities!"
"The Peach Blossom Talisman is just a boost, making some relationships that would have passed by pause for a moment. Whether or not someone can seize the opportunity depends on them."
The people around nodded thoughtfully.
Rhodey whispered, "Taoist, I'm still single. Can you draw one for me?"
Tony held his head high. He had plenty of peach blossoms already; he certainly didn't need a talisman like that.
After Rhodey's persistent pleas, Lin Chen sold him a Peach Blossom Talisman. Rhodey carefully tucked the talisman into his pocket and spent a long time circling the other flight attendants.
They treated him like air; it had no effect.
Rhodey returned, crestfallen. "Taoist, it didn't work!"
"I told you, it has to be your destined match, just a faint one. This talisman won't conjure someone out of thin air."
"Oh, right!"
Just then, a burly black woman soldier, whose arms were as thick as someone else's legs, came from the economy class. She grabbed Rhodey, nearly pulling him off his feet.
"Captain Rhodey, go out with me! I suddenly realized today, I have to confess to you!" The black woman shouted.
Rhodey's ears almost went deaf from the shout. He glanced at the black woman, who was much more burly than himself, and looked at Lin Chen with tears in his eyes.
Lin Chen nodded silently, meaning, this is your destiny, cherish it, don't miss it!
"Oh, no! I want to die!" Rhodey yelled, pretending to faint on Tony.
"Haha"
"Haha"
Polaris and Harley were laughing so hard they were shaking, "I can't take it anymore, I'm about to die laughing..."
Tony Stark couldn't help it either, and laughed heartily, laughing away all the depression of the past two months.
Mindy put her hands on her hips and pouted, "Adults are so boring!"
