Ellis was hesitant to leave for a bit; he wanted to meet Lorenz too, but maybe this wasn't the right time. Leon and Lorenz had definitely seen him. Leon knew he was here; Lorenz must also be aware he was here, but he didn't come out to see him. Could Lorenz be upset with him?

The next day, in the early morning, he had to travel for six hours again, but he made it home in one piece with a bundle of books he had borrowed from the public library. He didn't repeat his mistake of staying there under the librarian's eyes.

Mila arranged the books on the desk in his room, separating the bundle. Ellis unsuspiciously checked under his bed that the box containing his mask and earring was still there and locked as he heard Mila's voice from over the double bed.
