Chapter 4 - Xiao Wu’s Tease and Rising Rivalries

"You lose!" Xiaotian said with a smile.

A bead of cold sweat dripped down Tang San's forehead. Curiosity filled him—he couldn't understand why Xiaotian was so powerful. Though brief, Tang San had truly felt the sword intent Xiaotian radiated, a technique he recognized only from mighty swordsmen in his previous life. And yet, Xiaotian was just a six-year-old who had only just awakened his martial soul?

"I lost," Tang San admitted grudgingly, then added, "But it's only because this dormitory is too small. If we fought in an open space, I'd definitely win!"

His confidence stemmed from the Tang Sect's unique skills, though it had all happened too suddenly—he didn't even have time to activate his Purple Demon Pupil before Xiaotian's sword was at his neck.

Xiaotian didn't doubt the excuse—it was true he'd benefited from the cramped venue. After all, in his previous life, he was just an ordinary modern man who liked swords and enjoyed novels, with no other talents. Thankfully, his system gave him an edge, enabling him to hold his own against Tang San.

[Ding! The system is deeply shocked. The host defeated God King Tang San at the level of a soul warrior, though it's possible the God King Tang San was released from the sea!]

[Triggering critical hit reward: Martial arts skills "Immortal Wind and Cloud Body Technique" and "Drunken Immortal Moon-gazing Step" obtained!]

Xiaotian's eyes lit up. Weren't these the famed Drunken Swordsman techniques? The Immortal Wind and Cloud Body Technique created multiple body phantoms to confuse foes and launch group attacks. The Drunken Immortal Moon-gazing Step was a lightness skill that boosted attack speed.

Though the system was a little crazy, the rewards were impressive.

Moments later, the system transmitted detailed information about both skills directly into Xiaotian's mind. With his recently enhanced comprehension, he immediately grasped them at the entry level and expected to master them in just a few days.

With these new skills plus the sword control techniques from his past life memories, he wouldn't necessarily lose to Tang San in open combat.

Everyone in Dormitory 7 was stunned—especially Wang Sheng, who hadn't expected this year's freshmen to be so formidable.

Tang San had seemed powerful with his Blue Silver Grass martial spirit, but it had been useless just now. Xiaotian's strength exceeded all expectations. As soon as he drew his sword, his entire aura sharpened. And had he gotten a soul ring already?

"What was that sword technique? It looked amazing!" Wang Sheng asked.

Tang San spoke with curiosity, ignoring the awkwardness of it being their first meeting. "Xiaotian, did you learn that sword skill yourself or did someone teach it to you? You don't have a spirit ring, but you already have a spirit skill?"

Xiaotian didn't answer directly. Instead, he asked, "I'm also very interested in your spirit skills. What's with your strange footwork and your hands turning black jade?"

Tang San hesitated but, seeing Xiaotian's disinterest in small talk, chose a bed and set down his belongings.

Just then, a little girl wearing a rabbit ear headdress and a pink dress walked in.

"Hello, everyone. I'm Xiao Wu, the dance Wu, a new part-time student," she announced coquettishly.

Wang Sheng and the others exchanged looks of helplessness — this year seemed filled with part-time students.

Curious, Wang Sheng asked, "Xiao Wu, what's your martial soul and innate soul power?"

Xiao Wu put her hands on her hips, smiling confidently. "My martial soul is a rabbit — a very cute one — and my innate soul power is level ten!"

Tang San, standing nearby, looked at the little girl and felt a strange pang he couldn't explain. Subconsciously, he said, "That's unfortunate. I also have innate level ten soul power, but my martial spirit is Blue Silver Grass—which happens to be your food."

Xiao Wu noticed Tang San's plain, thin appearance. "Huh? This is the first time I've heard of someone practicing with Blue Silver Grass as their martial spirit, and possessing full innate soul power. Who are you?"

"Tang San," he replied.

Xiao Wu nodded thoughtfully but wasn't very concerned. Instead, her gaze shifted to the person next to Tang San.

"Are you also a freshman? Introduce yourself," she said, looking at Xiaotian.

Xiaotian was the first handsome boy she'd seen since arriving. Well, maybe not traditionally handsome, but he radiated sharp determination despite his six-year-old frame.

[Ding! Warning! The person before you is Xiao Wu of the Shura Sword Sheath, a god-level power and the wife of God King Tang San. The reason you defeated Tang San earlier is that you didn't care about her. If you hurt Xiao Wu, you will die!]

Xiaotian ignored the system's warning and calmly introduced himself. "My name is Xiaotian. My martial soul is the Wuhun Sword, with innate level five. I'm the new head of Dormitory 7."

He explained Dormitory 7's rules to Xiao Wu, immediately piquing her interest.

"So, you're the strongest here now? But I'm surprised—you beat Tang San even though his spirit is Blue Silver Grass with five more levels than you!"

She smiled confidently. "Forget it. That means if I beat you, I become head of Dorm 7! From now on, call me Sister Xiaowu!"

She pointed at Xiaotian with her right hand, left hand on her hip—clearly proud and bossy.

Originally the eldest sister in the Star Dou Great Forest, now in the human world, she naturally wanted to be top dog.

Tang San couldn't help but explain, "That's because the dorm is too small; I couldn't show my full strength!"

Xiao Wu frowned. "Tang San, you look silly. Losing is losing. Why all the excuses?"

Tang San's face flushed purple. He looked at Xiaotian; he didn't know why, but he suddenly felt the urge to prove himself in front of Xiao Wu.

P.S. This chapter introduces Xiao Wu, the confident and playful new arrival who immediately shakes up Dormitory 7's power dynamics. Xiaotian gains powerful martial arts as critical hit rewards, hinting at rapid growth ahead. Rivalries with Tang San and Xiao Wu intensify, blending youthful bravado with hints of deeper strength and mystery.
