Chapter 163 - Episode 163:Vihaan and Gauri relieves childhood memories

Vihaan's eyes followed Gauri as she brushed past him, retreating into her room with tears streaming down her cheeks. Veena's hand rested lightly on his shoulder. "Go after her, Vihaan," she urged softly, her voice tinged with worry. "She's hurting… you need to be there."

Vihaan's chest tightened. Without a word, he moved toward her room, the memories of their childhood flooding his mind—of fireflies, lost nights, and promises made in whispered voices. He pushed open the door and froze.

Gauri had made a mess of the room. Pillows were scattered across the floor, his coat lay in a heap, and his hair was tousled from where she had pulled at it in frustration. Yet, despite the chaos, her small frame trembled with heartbreak.

"Vihaan… you said—" she began, voice breaking, "you said you'd find me… and yet… you declared your marriage with Betalini! Right in front of everyone! You promised me, back then, that we'd never be apart… and you failed!"

She swung a pillow at him, half in anger, half in despair, and it struck him with a soft thud. Tears welled in her eyes as she stumbled back, covering her face. "How could you leave me, Vihaan? How could you forget me?"

Something in him cracked. Every memory, every lost moment, every tear she had ever shed for him pressed down like stones on his heart. He stepped closer, crouching before her, and gently pulled her into his arms. Gauri's body shook against his chest as if she were trying to squeeze all her sorrow into him. The pillow fell to the floor, forgotten.

"I… I'm so sorry, Gauri," Vihaan whispered, his voice rough with emotion. "I never meant to hurt you. Never. I… I lost myself… but I will never leave you again. Never."

Gauri clung to him, her tears soaking his shirt, her small hands gripping him as if holding on for life. Her sobs shook her entire frame, and he held her tighter, rocking her gently. "I'm here now," he murmured. "I'm here, and I'll always find you. Always."

She finally raised her head, her tear-streaked face pressed against his chest. Their eyes met, and in that silent exchange, all the pain, the fear, the years apart, and the love they had carried in secret for so long, spoke louder than any words.

For a moment, the chaos of the room, the worries of the family, the threats of darkness—they all faded away. There was only them, holding onto each other, rebuilding the bond that had never truly broken, even through years of separation.

Vihaan gently placed a blindfold over Gauri's eyes. "Trust me," he murmured, his voice soft but commanding. A snap of his fingers and the world seemed to shift beneath her feet. When he finally removed the blindfold, Gauri blinked against the soft glow of hundreds of fireflies.

They were standing atop a massive tower in the heart of the jungle. Below them, the city shimmered like scattered stars. The cool night breeze carried the scent of grass and earth, mingling with the faint glow of the fireflies around them. Gauri's breath hitched, and tears welled in her eyes.

"This… this is…" she whispered, her voice breaking, clutching her shawl tightly.

"Yes," Vihaan said softly, his hand brushing against hers. "The same field where we first met as children. The field of fireflies. I built this tower to honor those memories. Whenever life weighed too heavily on me… whenever darkness threatened to consume me… I would come here, just to remember."

Gauri's tears streamed freely now, sparkling in the gentle light. "I… I can't believe you remembered…"

Vihaan swallowed hard, his own throat tight. "I never forgot, Gauri. Not a single day. I could have searched for you—I became a cop, yes—but even if I hadn't… my powers… they could have found you. I was just… scared. Scared that bringing you into my life, into my chaos, would put you in danger."

His gaze drifted to her, taking in the wounds still faintly etched on her arms and face. His eyes burned with remorse. "And yet… all I've given you is pain. I married you to save my family… and in doing so, I caused you suffering. Why… why didn't you run away when you learned who I was?"

Gauri's voice was soft but unwavering, carrying her own courage. "I wanted to… at first. But I realized… I couldn't. Not truly. My heart wouldn't let me leave. Even when everything about you frightened me, I… I returned."

Vihaan's chest tightened, emotions threatening to break him. He pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her trembling form. The warmth of his embrace, the protective weight of his body, made her heart flutter. "Gauri… I…" His voice cracked, raw and honest. "I never wanted to hurt you. I… I just wanted you safe. And yet…"

She leaned against him, her own tears soaking into his shirt. Neither spoke, but the silence was heavy with unspoken words, with promises they weren't ready to voice, with a love that was growing quietly, unplanned, yet unstoppable.

For a long moment, they stood together, watching the fireflies dance around them, their hearts beating in rhythm. Slowly, naturally, imperceptibly, something fragile and tender was blooming between them—something that would not be named tonight, but would shape everything they did.

Love had begun, quietly, in the space between past memories, shared pain, and the courage to keep returning to one another.
