[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]
---------------------------------------
Draco was covered in grass and dirt. He fell to the ground, with sadness and anger on his face, like a small, wounded victim, no, like a little animal.
At that moment, one very large man and three boys, were surrounding him.
Right when Harry saw Draco running toward the castle, he sensed something was wrong. His first thought was that he shouldn't let Draco escape like that. Otherwise, they would definitely be in trouble.
With that thought, his wand appeared in his hand.
I must mention here that Harry had a new gadget on his wrist.
It was a bracelet made from the hide of boar. There was a small mechanism inside it. With just a flick of the wrist, the wand, which was originally fixed to the bracelet, could bounce into his hand. Moreover, there was a buckle installed at the bottom of the wand, which was connected to the bracelet with an elastic cord.
Looking back, this idea had come to Harry after he had failed to draw his wand in time to save Neville during their first flying lesson.
It didn't seem very convenient to carry the wand in his pocket or on his belt, so he wanted to create something like this. Unfortunately, Harry's hands weren't skilled enough, and after studying for quite a while, he hadn't been able to make it work.
It was after Christmas when he casually mentioned it to Fred and George, and two days later, the invention appeared before him.
...
The twins found the thing very interesting, and Ron and Hermione were also jealous. So, Harry paid for the materials, and almost every wizard they knew received one. As a rich man, Harry said that, as long as it wasn't made from dragonhide, this little expense was nothing.
With this device, Harry was able to summon his wand at an extremely fast speed. Using a spell he had been practicing quite a lot recently.
The Leg-Locker Curse is a lower-level spell compared to the Full Body-Bind Curse. Its effect, as the name suggests, is to bind the target's legs.
Draco was hit, and his legs were suddenly bound by magic. The inertia made his body lurch forward, and he fell face-first to the ground. Fortunately, the hunting field was covered with grass, and there were no stones beneath it, otherwise, Draco's handsome face would have been disfigured, or it would have been terrible if he'd lost two front teeth, although Madam Pomfrey would likely have restored them in seconds.
"Scarhead, you really attacked from behind." Draco glared at the three children. Hermione didn't approach but sat nearby.
"You were the one spying first. If you want to see, just come in," Ron said, laughing strangely, and gave Malfoy a very nasty look.
He and Malfoy had had several private altercations. If it were a one-on-one fight, Ron was very confident he could defeat Draco until he cried for his mother. But Draco was always accompanied by two followers, Crabbe and Goyle, and Ron didn't have Harry's skills to take on three at once, which made him regretful.
At this moment, Draco was in their hands. He felt it was a rare opportunity, and his hands were itching. He looked him up and down, trying to figure out the best place to start. Anyway, Draco had been bound by magic and taken back to the cabin by Hagrid. He couldn't resist, so they could do whatever they wanted.
"It's just a dragon, what's the big deal..." Draco wanted to taunt, but when he turned and saw the little dragon, his eyes widened. He was left speechless, unable to find the right words to say next.
Harry and Ron exchanged glances and felt something was wrong.
Why did Draco's gaze seem even more intense than Hagrid's when he looked at the Norwegian Ridgeback dragon, Norbert, Hagrid had?
What Harry and the others didn't know was that, perhaps because his name meant "dragon," Draco was also an avid dragon enthusiast, no less so than Hagrid, and perhaps even more so.
Before going to Hogwarts, he had cried and begged his parents multiple times to get him a dragon to raise.
However, his parents, who usually obeyed him in everything, were extraordinarily firm on this matter. Even his mother, who idolized him, firmly refused.
There was no way around it, the Malfoy family was quite well-known in the wizarding world.
Almost everyone in the wizarding world knew that the current head of the Malfoy family, Lucius Malfoy, had once been a follower of Voldemort, and many other Malfoy elders had supported Voldemort when they were students.
Although, after Voldemort's fall, Lucius insisted that he had done those things under the Imperius Curse, and through various little tricks, he finally escaped punishment, there were still many who secretly kept an eye on him and his family.
Lucius Malfoy had tried to maintain good relations with the Ministry of Magic because, in fact, many people followed him.
Under such circumstances, it would have been impossible for Lucius or Draco's mother, Narcissa, to do anything blatantly illegal, like raising dragons.
It's hard to say whether the Malfoy family had illegal activities, but dragon breeding was something hard to hide.
The more one can't have something, the more one desires it!
Draco, who had almost everything he wanted in other matters since childhood, couldn't get what he wanted when it came to raising dragons, which only fueled his desire for fire-breathing dragons. However, as he grew a bit older, he gradually realized that raising a dragon was indeed a very difficult thing to achieve.
But even now, Draco was only twelve years old. Could a child that age analyze these things completely rationally?
That was absolutely impossible.
Harry couldn't, Ron couldn't, Hermione couldn't, and Draco, naturally, couldn't either.
Now, when he saw the dragon eggs outside the window, Draco's heart raced. When the little dragon hatched, his breath grew heavy. If Hagrid hadn't seen him, he would have continued spying.
Even at that moment, he was thinking about the possibility of stealing the little dragon and bringing it back to his dormitory or home to raise it. Although his mind told him that this was impossible at first, the thought kept popping up in his head like a mischievous imp and he couldn't shake it off.
So, he was caught.
Normally, Draco would never want to enter Hagrid's large, worn, small, and dirty hut. But at that moment, as he looked at the little dragon so close to him, still not completely out of its eggshell, Draco felt unable to look away.
"Hey, hey!" Ron's teasing voice interrupted Draco's passionate gaze.
Draco was certain, absolutely certain, that he hated Weasley very, very much, especially the one standing in front of him.
"Malfoy, how do you think I should deal with you?" Ron's smile was definitely not friendly.
"You... you dare..." Draco looked at Ron, a little panicked.
"If you dare touch me, my father won't forgive you."
"Mama's boy, you really can't stop talking about your parents," Ron said with a mocking look on his face.
"But if I throw you into the Forbidden Forest to feed the werewolves, how will your father know it was me? As long as no one sees you, well, I'll lock you in here, wait until it's completely dark, and there's no one around, then I'll throw you into the Forbidden Forest. Haha, it's foolproof!"
Ron shamelessly threatened Draco.
In fact, he didn't know if there were werewolves in the Forbidden Forest. Although he'd heard the wolves howling, who knew if they were actually werewolves? But Fred and George said so, and many other wizarding kids said so, so Ron simply assumed it was true.
"You... you..." Draco's already pale face became even paler, and he was scared.
He was genuinely afraid that Ron might throw him into the Forbidden Forest. In his opinion, the fierce Gryffindor could actually do something like that, well, lions are fierce, so Gryffindors must be fierce too.
Does that make sense? It makes sense! At least that's what Draco always thought, and after taking a punch from Harry on the train, that idea became even more certain.
"Malfoy, if you don't want to be thrown into the Forbidden Forest to feed the werewolves, you must swear not to reveal what you saw today." Harry noticed that Draco was easily fooled by Ron and immediately added fuel to the fire.
"I, Draco Malfoy, am a direct descendant of the noble Malfoy family. Even if I have to be fed to werewolves, I will never surrender to you!" Draco glared at Harry and Ron.
At that moment, the door of the hut opened from the outside. A large black dog, as big as a small black bear, pushed the door open as if it knew the place, then closed it behind itself and entered.
Draco managed to see the big dog from his vantage point and was surprised. "What does the oath say?"
Harry: "…"
Hermione: "…"
Ron: "…"
Neville: "..."
Hagrid: "..."
Fang: "???"
…
As an exemplary student, Hermione had some knowledge about magical oaths, but this knowledge was limited to the descriptions of their effects in books, and wasn't very detailed.
As the child of a wizarding family, Ron had some understanding of magical oaths, but he wasn't as familiar with them as Hermione.
Harry had some knowledge of magical oaths, which he got from Neil. Powerful wizards often partnered with powerful demonic creatures. As one of the most powerful wizards in that world, Neil also had a powerful demonic creature as a partner.
In Neil's fragmented memories, it was a black and flaming phoenix. It was so cool and beautiful that Harry became very envious. However, he had skimmed through a book on magical creatures in this world, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", which was required reading for first-year students. While there was a phoenix similar to the one Neil had, there was no black phoenix.
Of course, it was true that Harry had some knowledge of magical contracts, but that was purely theoretical, and he had never attempted one.
As for Neville, well, no one expected much from him, and he really didn't know anything about them.
However, what almost everyone present didn't expect was that Hagrid would do this.
And very proficiently too!
When Draco saw, in disbelief, a mysterious and complex magical symbol appear in front of him, it slowly entered his mouth, and finally, his tongue became slightly numb.
Having some knowledge of magical contracts, he knew the oath had been fulfilled. He couldn't mention the little dragon to anyone other than those present that day.
How could Hagrid, that stupid and clumsy old man, have such exquisite magic?
Draco was confused.
Not just Draco, but Harry and the others couldn't understand anything. The five of them looked at Hagrid in surprise.
"Don't look at me like that. I'm in my third year at Hogwarts," Hagrid seemed to be explaining.
"I looked through the third-year Charms textbook, and there's definitely no sophisticated contract magic in it," Hermione looked at Hagrid with suspicion and said affirmatively.
"Ah... Hermione, you don't look cute at all now," Hagrid shook his head helplessly.
"Well, actually, I've been researching in this area. But I mainly want to use it with magical creatures. Some oaths and contracts allow me to communicate with these magical creatures mentally, so I can know what they're thinking and what I'm saying. Oh, Malfoy, don't let your imagination run wild. The oath I gave you is for wizards."
"I don't believe you, you old man, you're so evil!" Draco thought.
