"You've worked hard, Dong'er," Qian Xunji said, his eyes filled with immense affection as he looked at the child in Bibi Dong's arms. "This girl looks just like me. She's destined for greatness!"
He reached out, wanting to hold his newborn daughter, but Bibi Dong swiftly moved away, dodging his touch. "This is my child," she stated, her voice cold.
The High Priests standing nearby exchanged glances but remained silent. They too looked upon the infant with great fondness.
Guangling Douluo, who had the appearance of a young boy, tilted his head. "I wonder what name we should give the second young lady? The first young lady is named Qian Renxue, so how about Qian Renyu for the second? 'Rain and snow' sounds quite nice together."
The Third High Priest, Azure Luan Douluo, nodded in agreement. "Not bad, Old Fifth, that's a good name."
Just then, Bibi Dong's faint voice cut through their discussion. "I've already said that I will be the one to decide her name, and I've had one in mind for a while now. She will take the 'Wu' from Spirit Hall as her surname and 'Xiu' as her given name. She will be called Wu Xiu."
Before anyone could object, the High Priest Qian Daoliu spoke first. "Alright, we'll go with that for now," he said, his tone placating. "But may I hold the child? I am her grandfather, after all."
Bibi Dong refused him just as she had Qian Xunji. "The child has just been born; she can't be separated from her mother yet. We can talk about it later, when she's a little older."
Qian Renxue, who had been standing quietly, hesitated before cautiously speaking up. "Mom, can I… can I touch my little sister?"
Bibi Dong glanced down at her first daughter, and after a moment, she finally nodded.
A joyful smile instantly spread across Qian Renxue's face. She looked at Wu Xiu's wide, curious eyes and gently touched her soft cheek, not daring to use any force for fear of hurting her.
"Little sister, hehe," she whispered. "I have a little sister now."
Watching the two sisters together, Qian Daoliu and the other priests couldn't help but smile. "Alright," Qian Daoliu announced softly, "let's not disturb the three of them. A mother and her daughters need their rest."
He led the others out of the room and gently closed the door. As soon as they were outside, Gold Crocodile Douluo spoke up, his voice indignant. "Big Brother, are we really just going to let her name the second young lady whatever she wishes?"
Qian Daoliu sighed. "What else can we do for now? The child is still so young and needs her mother. We'll humor her for the time being. In a few years, when the child is old enough to understand, we'll tell her what her other name is when we're alone with her. Since she wants the child to be called Wu Xiu, we'll compromise and name her Qian Renxiu."
Hearing that the name wouldn't include the character for 'ice', Guangling Douluo pouted, looking displeased. But it was no use; the others simply ignored his childish expression.
Inside the room, the infant Wu Xiu's eyes moved, looking curiously at the golden-haired girl in front of her. No one knew that just moments ago, a soul from another world had transmigrated into her tiny body.
Qian Renxue? Spirit Hall?
Aren't these the major powers from the Douluo Continent? It seemed she had been reincarnated into the world of a novel she was just reading. One moment, she was lying in bed, and the next, she was a newborn baby. When she heard Qian Renxue call her "little sister," she understood her new reality: she was now Qian Renxue's little sister and Bibi Dong's second daughter.
Both her new mother and sister were tragic figures who experienced great ups and downs. Qian Renxue spent twenty years undercover in the Heaven Dou Empire, and her plan was progressing perfectly until Tang San appeared and ruined everything. She eventually became a god, only to be defeated by him and lose her Godhood forever. Bibi Dong's story was even more painful. As the Holy Maiden of Spirit Hall, she was betrayed by her teacher, Qian Xunji, and lost her love, Yu Xiaogang. After a desperate struggle, she finally became a god, only to be killed by Tang San in the end.
Wu Xiu tried to recall more events from the story, but her infant body couldn't handle the strain. The effort exhausted her, and she quickly fell into a deep sleep.
One month later, Wu Xiu was dozing in her mother's arms when her biological father, Qian Xunji, walked in. He was usually dressed in casual robes, but today he wore a full suit of armor.
"Dong'er," he announced, "Tang Hao and that 100,000-year Spirit Beast in human form have finally been found. I'm leading a team to capture her now. She will make a fine spirit ring and Spirit Bone for you, or perhaps for Xue'er and Xiu'er in the future."
Hearing this, Wu Xiu's mind jolted into high alert. Her father was about to walk into a disaster! She knew the plot, but she was a baby who couldn't speak or act. Revealing her true nature before she had any strength would be a death sentence.
The next time Wu Xiu saw her father, he was severely injured and was sent away to recuperate. The news that followed was grim: Qian Xunji had died from his injuries. Wu Xiu knew the truth—her mother, Bibi Dong, had taken her revenge.
Although her birth was a deviation from the original story, its impact seemed to be minimal. The plot continued to unfold as she remembered. After Qian Xunji's death, Qian Renxue was sent to the Heaven Dou Empire to begin her mission to usurp the throne. Bibi Dong, as the Holy Maiden, ascended to the position of Supreme Pontiff of Spirit Hall. Under her leadership, Spirit Hall suppressed the Clear Sky Sect, forcing them into seclusion.
In the blink of an eye, three years passed. The once-tiny Wu Xiu had grown into a toddler, nearly a meter tall.
One spring afternoon, a girl who looked eight or nine years old called out to her. "Xiuxiu, it's time for the basic spirit power course! Hurry up, or the teacher will get impatient."
Wu Xiu responded with a nod, and her two small legs quickly pattered forward. "I know, Sister Nana!"
The girl calling her to class was none other than Bibi Dong's disciple, Hu Liena. Bibi Dong had taken her on as a disciple in the same year she became the Supreme Pontiff.
Wu Xiu looked at Hu Liena's smiling face. If she hadn't been born, Hu Liena would have undoubtedly become the next Holy Maiden. But with her here, that future was no longer certain. Although Hu Liena became an outstanding Spirit Master under Spirit Hall's training and even had the courage to enter the Slaughter City for trials, the gap between them was already immense.
While she was still learning to speak, Wu Xiu had already begun receiving systematic education from the seven High Priests and Bibi Dong—eight Titled Douluo in total. The material resources she received were beyond imagination. Every meal included the meat of powerful Spirit Beasts and precious medicinal herbs to enhance her physique from a young age.
And Hu Liena? She was only brought to Spirit Hall after awakening her Spirit at age six. Even with Bibi Dong's guidance, the difference in their starting points was as wide as the heavens and the earth.
