Emily's POV : What is he doing here? How did he even find my address? I never told him my name… then how?
Whatever the reason, he's here. Maybe he can help me clear this mess. He took care of me last night when I was drunk—surely, he'll help me now.
Just as I was about to ask for his help, Noah's voice cut in.
Noah: "Why are you here?"
Mr. Roy: "I'm here to discuss something with her. But you people carry on… I'll wait outside."
He was about to leave when I quickly stopped him.
Emily: "No! Stop, Mr. Roy. I… I need your help. Only you can help me out of this."
He looked at me, surprised, not understanding what I meant.
Emily: "This is Noah. Can you please tell him what happened yesterday?"
Mr. Roy's eyes flickered between Noah and me.
Mr. Roy: "Emily, how am I supposed to discuss our personal matter with some stranger? And who is this man in your room?"
What is wrong with him? Doesn't he understand how important this is?
Emily: "Mr. Roy, stop joking! This is serious. Please just tell him that nothing happened between us last night."
Mr. Roy (angrily, gritting his teeth): "First of all, who is this guy?"
I opened my mouth to answer, but Noah cut me off.
Noah: "Didn't she tell you yesterday who I am?"
Mr. Roy: "Do I look like a crazy person? Would I ask if I already knew?"
They were seconds away from tearing each other apart.
Mr. Roy: "And besides, why would she bring someone else when we were having so much fun?"
His words hit me like a slap.
Emily: "What… fun?"
Noah: "Fun? Emily told me nothing happened. Then what are you talking about?"
Mr. Roy only shrugged.
Mr. Roy: "It was all over the news. Find out for yourself."
I saw Noah's expression darken.
Noah: "Emily, you told me nothing happened. Then what 'fun' is he talking about?"
I panicked, realizing my silence might lead Noah to assume the worst. I rushed to him.
Emily: "Noah, please! I don't know why he's acting like this. Nothing happened! You know I love you. I thought he would help me, but instead he's ruining everything."
Noah seemed to soften, but then—
Mr. Roy: "I'm not saying nothing happened."
I froze.
Mr. Roy: "Everything happened last night. I still can't forget your fragile body in my hands, your moans… I miss it all. That's why I came here today."
No! No, this isn't happening…
Emily: "Noah, he's lying! Please trust me. You know me—you know my love. Why would I betray you?"
But Mr. Roy wasn't finished.
Mr. Roy: "You even told me your address in between your moans. Every time I recall it, I hear you calling out in my bed."
Emily: (screaming through tears) "He's lying! Please, Noah, believe me!"
Noah's face hardened. His voice trembled.
Noah: "Emily, I really wanted to believe you. But when I gave you a chance to tell the truth, you just lied to me again."
His eyes glistened with tears. I couldn't bear to see him like that.
In anger, I grabbed Mr. Roy's collar.
Emily: "Tell him the truth! Why are you doing this? Because of your lies, he's breaking! Tell him the truth NOW!"
Instead, he smirked and pulled me against him, whispering:
Mr. Roy: "Relax, darling. You told me yourself that your boyfriend cheated on you multiple times—even with your best friend. You wanted to cheat on him too. Isn't that what you said?"
My blood ran cold.
Noah: (shaking his head) "Emily… you're worse than me. I may have cheated, but I still cared for you, for your brother and sister. I didn't realize until now… I truly loved you. But you? You've destroyed everything. Let's end this. Goodbye, Emily."
He turned to leave through the window.
Emily: "Noah! Please, don't leave me! Don't trust his lies! I'm begging you!"
But he didn't stop. He disappeared, leaving only pain in his place.
I collapsed on the floor, sobbing, when Mr. Roy crouched beside me.
Mr. Roy: "Hey, sweetie, get up. Enough of the drama. Now, listen to me carefully. I'm giving you one chance—tell me the truth. Was it your doing?"
Emily: (confused, sobbing) "What… what are you asking? What's my doing?"
His eyes blazed with fury.
Mr. Roy: "The news. Are you the one behind it?"
Finally, I understood. So that's why he did all this—because he thinks I leaked the picture.
Emily: "No! I'm not that crazy. I don't want attention, especially not with you!"
My words only angered him more.
In a flash, his hand closed around my throat, pinning me against the wall.
Emily: (choking, gasping) "Let… me… go…"
He tightened his grip, then forced my wrists above my head with one hand, trapping me.
Mr. Roy: "I'll ask one last time. Was it you?"
I struggled for breath, my vision blurring. Finally, when he loosened his hold, I croaked out:
Emily: "No… I swear, it wasn't me. And how can you even be so sure it was?"
Mr. Roy: "Because you sat beside me and my sister. You listened to everything. You're the one who kissed me first. You clicked the picture, then cried to stop it. After putting the pieces together, it all pointed to you."
Emily: "None of that is true! I didn't even know your name until today. What could I possibly gain from this?"
He finally released me, though his glare burned.
Mr. Roy: "I've started my own investigation. If I confirm it's you… that will be your last day on earth. Remember that."
He left, slamming the door behind him.
I collapsed to the floor, gasping for air, replaying everything—the betrayal, the lies, the loss.
Noah… my family… they've all abandoned me. What's left for me now?
Through my tears, my eyes fell on the knife lying on the table. My hands trembled as I picked it up, along with a pen and paper.
Emily (whispering through sobs): "Grandfather, if only you were alive… I wouldn't have to face this day. I'm coming to you… I'm coming."
I stood by the window where I last saw Noah, staring at the night sky, a broken smile on my lips.
