Chapter 12 - Chapter 12:Reflections.

The air was cold and still, like the tower itself was holding its breath, waiting to see what I'd do next.

I suddenly felt an unsettling, prickling sensation crawling up my spine. Someone was watching me. But the problem was… it wasn't me.

Then let's use something universal, I thought, forcing a steady breath. Mana.

Closing my eyes, I slipped into my own consciousness, navigating the familiar flow of energy within. I focused on the fractured streams. The places where mana leaked out, the cracks of {Mana Deficiency Syndrome}.

Ironically, the very cracks that once weakened me… could now become my weapon. Even a broken vessel can let the light through.

I felt the ambient mana swirl faintly around me and then—

[Skill: {Mana Sense} has been activated]

A rush of information flooded my mind. Threads of energy danced across the room, and five distinct sources pulsed faintly from different mirrors.

A small grin tugged at my lips. So there you are… the infamous Mirror Wraiths.

I drew out and swung it at the mirror with a sharp slash.

But the mirror didn't even crack—only a dull clang echoed through the room.

[Anything within the Tower cannot be damaged.]

"Tch… figures," I muttered under my breath.

I pulled out and, without hesitation, sank my teeth into it. A sharp sweetness spread across my tongue, followed by a burning rush flooding through my veins.

[You have taken the 4th Bite.]

The world around me seemed to shudder, and my heartbeat roared like thunder in my ears. "Alright… let's do this."

[Skill: {Eye of Avarice} has been acquired.]

A grin tugged at the corner of my lips as I stared at the glowing text. Well… this just made things a whole lot easier, I thought, my eyes narrowing with a glint of excitement. I scrolled down to read the skill's description, anticipation buzzing in my chest.

[Sub-skill: {Shift} has been activated]

My eyes burned red, pupils narrowing into sharp reptilian slits. A rush of power surged through me as the very space around me trembled.

I focused on the 1st Floor of [The Tower of Reflection] and shifted it.

The entire floor twisted like being peeled away from the tower like a layer of reality being stripped off, and reappeared outside.

Now, it wasn't an indestructible domain anymore. It was just a fragile, destructible floor.

I swung , slicing through the mirrors as a flurry of system messages poured in:

[You have killed Mirror Wraith ×4]

[You have gained 1,300 EXP]

[You have reached Lv‑2 (300/1,000)]

A sudden chill ran down my spine. One Mirror Wraith had survived, shards of glass spinning dangerously around it as I sprinted left to dodge its attacks.

I closed the distance in an instant. Channeling my elemental mana into the blade, it blazed white radiating light energy.

[State has been changed to Silver(Lux)]

[Item Skill:{Silver Edge}has been activated]

I swung with both hands. Instead of striking the Mirror Wraith, the very space in front of it tore open.

Ah… I see. It's an illusion. But thanks to {Silver Edge}, the wielder of can slice through mana itself.

So now I know. It is nothing but an illusion.

I caught on the crack with both of my hands and began expanding the rift. A Crazed smile had somehow formed on my face.

[Skill: {Mind Hub} has been materialized]

[The Illusion is being dispelled]

The mirrors and shards dissolved, revealing a vast chamber of pristine white marble. Mist swirled around its edges. At the center stood someone.

He had black hair and was wearing the same black ensemble as me. Two rings glinted on his left hand and a white sword radiated light energy from his right. His blackish-red eyes met mine, demanding recognition.

It was no one other than me, my doppelganger.

[You have reached the 1st Floor Boss Chamber]

[Floor Mission: The Doppelganger believes you are him and seeks to prove it by killing you. Defeat him before he kills you.]

I raised an eyebrow. "Huh… so you actually think you are me?" My tone was arrogant, but my gut clenched slightly.

The doppelganger smirked, an exact reflection of my own expression. His voice echoed through the chamber, calm yet dripping with venom. "I am myself. You're the Doppelganger. How dare you parade around wearing my face."

He lifted his sword, its radiant edge gleaming coldly, and pointed it straight at me. The reflective marble floor beneath our feet shivered like water, sending ripples across the walls. One by one, distorted reflections bloomed to life. Each mirror showing a different version of me. Some were grotesque, twisted by scars and fury. Others looked serene, almost angelic. A few still carried the innocence of a boy who hadn't yet faced the world.

And then it struck me. These weren't illusions. They were fragments of me from the past, future, and now the present were woven together like a fractured timeline.

"Doppelganger, no matter who you are, I will defeat you." I said, voice steady and unwavering.

The Doppelganger tilted his head, a smirk curling at the corner of his lips."Impressive… even as a mere copy, you're strong."

The mist curled up, and the past, present, and future watched us as if holding their breath.

I had to move fast. One wrong step, one flicker of doubt, and this reflection of me would kill me before I reached the next floor.

This fight was no longer only about strength or identity. It was about survival and pride.

And I was ready.

I turned on my heel, boots echoing against the marble as I bent down. Four faintly glowing lay scattered among the fading remnants of the Mirror Wraiths.

As I picked them up, their cold, glassy surfaces pulsed softly in my palm—like tiny, captive heartbeats. Each core carried a fragment of the Wraith's essence, swirling with silvery mist that reflected my face back at me… fractured.

[You have obtained: ×4]

[Special Resource: Can be used to enhance Skills, Weapons, or forge Soul-bound Artifacts]

A small grin tugged at my lips. "Perfect," I whispered. Even a battlefield could be a treasure chest in disguise.

I slid the cores into my pocket dimension, my gaze shifting back to the Doppelganger. His smirk hadn't faded. If anything, it had grown sharper.

I rolled the cold in my palm, their pale light pulsing in rhythm with my heartbeat.

My original plan had been simple .To sell them off, stack up points, maybe buy something useful later.

But looking at the Doppelganger standing across from me, radiating the same killing intent I would've given, I knew this wasn't the time for profit. This was survival.

The mist thickened, curling tighter around us like an audience waiting for the first move.

I tightened my grip. Using them is more important now.

[Decision has been made]

[Spirit Cores can be consumed to enhance combat potential temporarily]

I raised the cores to my chest. Their glow flared, seeping into my veins like molten light. A heat rushed through me, burning away hesitation and amplifying every pulse of mana.

[4× have been consumed]

[All Attributes have been increased by+20%]

[Duration: 10 minutes]

I exhaled slowly, feeling the surge of power ripple through every muscle.

"Alright, reflection," I said, my lips curving into a sharp grin. "Let's make this interesting."

I tightened my grip on as I surged forward, appearing behind the Doppelganger in a blink. Elemental mana coursed through the blade, bathing it in a vibrant lavender glow.

With a swift, fluid motion, I swung the katana, channeling all the energy into the strike. The air around the blade crackled as sparks of electricity arced outward.
