"Kai… what are you doing here?" I finally managed to ask.


The words came out slower than I intended, mostly because I was still trying to understand what I was seeing.


And beside me, Angel looked like she had just been struck by lightning.


Kai, meanwhile, stood lazily by the doorway as though barging into someone's room without warning was perfectly normal behavior. He reached up and removed his mask, revealing the familiar expression that somehow managed to look bored, amused, and mildly irritated all at once.


That single word already made my stomach drop.
