A shut-in. A chubby, ordinary girl who blended into the background like a shadow. Easy to ignore. Easier to mock.

The world never ran out of ways to remind me I didn’t belong. Cruel jokes in hallways. Laughter that followed me home. Words sharper than blades, carving deeper than bruises ever could.

After a long pause, Ren finally sighed, as if he was sacrificing his soul. "Five minutes," he said firmly. "I'll wait by the door."


He stepped outside, but not before throwing Eric a glare so sharp it could probably slice fruit better than a kitchen knife.


My brain replayed it like a cursed GIF I couldn't delete.


"I won't," Eric replied lightly, his tone almost amused. "Though five minutes feels a bit short, don't you think?"


"Five minutes," Ren repeated from the hallway, his voice cold and final.


The silence stretched awkwardly for a moment, thick and heavy. Eric rubbed the back of his neck before finally speaking.


"Are you really okay with a man like that?" he asked carefully. "Isn't he a bit… possessive?"


I couldn't help but laugh. "That's your concern?"
