AUREA practiced until the night bled toward dawn.

Sweat clung to their skin, breaths ragged, music thumping through the empty stadium as they repeated the choreography again and again.

 

For the first time in weeks, the practice room felt… peaceful.

 

Lance was sober.

 

Quiet.

 

Focused.

 

He wasn't talking back.

 

He wasn't stumbling over steps.

 

He wasn't slurring his lines or laughing at nothing in particular.

 

Just… dancing.

 

And that alone terrified Eric more than the chaos.

 

It's the calm before the storm, he thought grimly.

 

He watched Lance from the mirror's reflection, careful not to let his stare linger. Lance moved through the choreography smoother than usual, though fatigue clung to his limbs like a shadow.

 

He was trying.

 

Trying so hard.

 

But Eric felt like he was watching a man balancing on the edge of a cliff, waiting for the tiniest breeze to send him plummeting.

 

AUREA's management had already spoken to them.
