Leaning against the railing, I looked down toward the parking lot. A familiar black sedan rolled through the entrance. Right on time.
The car came to a smooth stop near the main entrance. The rear passenger door opened first.
Carrie stepped out, dressed as elegantly as ever despite the weather. Her long coat matched the dark umbrella her driver immediately opened above her. He walked around the car, staying half a step behind as they headed toward the building.
She didn't go unnoticed.
Several employees on neighboring balconies stopped talking altogether.
"Is that... Carrie fucking Beldenwary?"
"What is she doing here?"
"No way."
"Isn't she that celebrity?"
"I thought she never visited companies herself."
"I heard she's involved in charity work. Maybe it's about that."
"No... she's heading inside."
