Chapter 5 - A Glimmer of Hope Given

Facing his boss being thrown at him by Kurousagi, Aslan, of course, dodged expressionlessly.

How ridiculous—surely no one expected a small Five-Digit god like him to withstand the impact of a Star Spirit being hurled at him, right?

Especially since this Star Spirit had been thrown by an angry Kurousagi!

Aslan didn't think his fragile body could endure such force.

"Hey, you! Seeing your main god thrown like that, why didn't you catch her?"

Shiroyasha climbed out of the large crater she had created, dusted herself off, and glared at Aslan with irritation.

Her newly acknowledged god's follower, and he couldn't even show basic respect to his own master!

What was the point of having a follower like this?

"Sorry, I don't recognize a boss who starts molesting girls the moment she arrives."

Aslan replied flatly, especially as he noticed Kurousagi's awkward expression.

He really wanted to say he had absolutely no idea who this shameful boss was.

The good impression he had painstakingly built in front of Kurousagi had, in an instant, been completely shattered by Shiroyasha.

"You brat..."

Shiroyasha stared at Aslan, speechless. Did he think she couldn't see exactly what he was thinking?

A pervert who was actually a little excited when kicked by her!

What was he trying to hide?

Did he think she hadn't noticed his thoughts when he hugged her leg earlier?

Aslan had completely taken advantage of her!

In the end, he had actually succeeded.

Shiroyasha and Aslan—both were the same. Neither was better than the other!

However, Shiroyasha hadn't come to see Kurousagi just to tease her.

She wouldn't have traveled all this way for something so trivial.

Of course, she hadn't come for Aslan either. Aslan was just a god's follower she had casually accepted.

Some time later, in the only remaining villa's meeting room in No-Name.

Aslan stood politely behind Shiroyasha, silently listening to the conversation between Shiroyasha and Kurousagi.

Shiroyasha lazily fanned herself with the fan in her hand, sipping tea brewed by Kurousagi.

She spoke casually, "The true culprit behind the destruction of No-Name (Arcadia) hasn't been found."

"They acted with extreme secrecy. My initial suspicion is that a Three-Digit God King broke the rules and interfered."

Otherwise, given Arcadia's strength at the time, it would have been impossible for them to be wiped out overnight without any resistance.

Kasukabe Koumei, the former main attacker during the battle against Azi Dahaka, the Absolute Evil—

Even among the exceptional Four-Digit ranks, his power was exceptionally strong.

He could exchange blows with Zeus, another top-tier Four-Digit, and hold his own, even if only briefly.

There was also Canaria, Baron La Croix, Leo the Sun, Leticia, and others.

With these elite Four-Digit fighters, for Arcadia to be annihilated overnight without even sending out a distress signal...

Besides a rule-breaking Three-Digit Demon Lord, Shiroyasha could think of no other possibility.

But who would risk losing their Three-Digit rank and incurring the wrath of the gods just to attack Arcadia?

She could only speculate they were likely part of the same group responsible for stripping Koumei of his human status back then.

To surpass the Last Trial of humanity and defeat the Absolute Evil, the main attacker had to retain their human status.

Had it not been for that accident, Arcadia wouldn't have lost eighty percent of its combat strength—and wouldn't have been wiped out by an unknown Demon Lord.

After all, no matter how strong other Demon Lords were, could they possibly surpass Azi Dahaka?

"I've already asked Indra. Indra found no clues either, and every recorded Three-Digit member of the Heavenly Host last night has a solid alibi."

"That Demon Lord must've appeared out of thin air."

Shiroyasha angrily slammed her fan onto the table.

If she ever found out who was behind this, don't blame her for being unfriendly!

Just as Little Garden was beginning to recover and flourish again, its last hope had suddenly vanished once more!

If there was anyone who least wanted something to happen to Arcadia, it was her—because no one cared more about Little Garden than she did.

"Wait, no, even those who 'appeared from thin air' have alibis!"

"Damn it!"

Sun Wukong was listening to the Buddha's sermon at the Sacred Mountain yesterday!

And he was Canaria's teacher, so he couldn't possibly be involved.

"And even Thousand Eyes has no information about last night's incident!"

Thousand Eyes, the largest commercial alliance in Little Garden, led by two goddesses, whose main business was selling all kinds of information.

It was the organization with the most intelligence and news in Little Garden. If even Thousand Eyes had no clues, then truly, there were none.

Hearing Shiroyasha's complaints, Kurousagi realized that Shiroyasha had done her best to investigate last night's events.

She had gone everywhere, yet found nothing.

"But there's good news. Based on confirmation from Halloween, this is now certain."

"The executives of No-Name (Arcadia) are still alive—though most of them have been exiled to the outer worlds."

But the outer worlds? There were countless universes beyond Little Garden—how could anyone know which universe they had been exiled to?

To return, they might not be able to come back until the end of their lives.

Not everyone had the ability to freely travel between Little Garden and the outer worlds.

Otherwise, Shiroyasha wouldn't have accepted Aslan as her god's follower.

Although she was now merely a Yaksha deity in Buddhism, her followers couldn't just be anyone.

Of course, Shirayukihime was purely a matter of luck.

Her prayers had just happened to reach Shiroyasha.

And most importantly, she was beautiful and obedient.

Aslan, however, was not a beautiful girl, so the only reason he had caught Shiroyasha's interest was because of his extremely high potential.

"So... does that mean if I manage No-Name seriously, one day everyone might return?"

Though reality was harsh, Kurousagi still held onto hope. The worst fear she had wasn't realized after all.

There was still a chance for everyone to come back.

Hope rekindled in Kurousagi's heart. No matter how long it took, she would wait for the return of everyone in No-Name.

Wait for No-Name to become the big family she once knew.

"That's right."

Shiroyasha sighed slightly and took another sip from her teacup.

Honestly, she really liked Kurousagi. If she could, she wished Kurousagi would join her.

As for the children of No-Name, she'd also arrange good places for them.

After all, they were descendants of Arcadia's executives, and their talents were promising. With a little training and resources, they could become excellent fighters in any community.

There was no shortage of people who wanted them.

Arcadia was destroyed. As a former ally, she would take care of the remnants.

As for the possibility of the executives returning, or No-Name reclaiming its banner—that was better than nothing, though even Shiroyasha wasn't sure.

She'd rather Kurousagi give up on hope and follow her to become a mascot at Thousand Eyes—that would be good enough.

But Indra had insisted Shiroyasha deliver this final message to Kurousagi, giving her a glimmer of hope.

He didn't want to see the few remaining Moon Rabbits living like walking corpses.

Kurousagi, whose hometown and home had been destroyed twice, ultimately needed something to hold onto.
