Chapter 22 - A Kiss to Replenish

It was a green sphere. The moment it touched her lips, a bitter taste assaulted her senses.

It looked utterly unappetizing!

Celia pressed her lips tightly together, tilting her head away slightly like a kitten resisting medicine, her refusal clear and firm.

Tila Ning…

It was made from weeds infused with natural spiritual energy found only on their land. Since natural spiritual energy didn't exist outside, it was unique to the Elf tribe.

Though, no one knew who that lovely senior was who named the thing after themselves.

Celia had the misfortune of being fed it by her mother once. The stuff was unbearably bitter. Not wanting to hurt her mother's feelings, she could only force a smile and say it was "delicious."

Some elves actually enjoyed this stuff, but Celia certainly wasn't one of them…

"Eat it. I'm not too fond of a picky wife," the man said with displeasure, pressing the Tila Ning directly against Celia's lips.

"Mmmph~" Celia turned her head away again, her voice trembling as she explained, "Lord Liam… you can't eat this… it'll kill you."

"Kill you?" His voice dropped several degrees. "I made this carefully for you. Who told you it would kill you?"

"Whimper…"

Startled by his tone, Celia shrank back, instantly losing all courage to evade. She melted obediently against his lap, her tear-filled eyes glistening with grievance. The woman who had just been so pampered couldn't handle this tone.

Noticing the change in the little thing in his arms, Liam frowned slightly. He used his fingers to tilt her chin up and saw that her doll-like face was already flushed, tears streaming down.

Just a little grievance, and her pitiful look was enough to tug at one's heartstrings.

"You cry after just a few words?" Liam looked into her tear-filled eyes, somewhat incredulous, his heart genuinely tightening.

The girl blinked rapidly like a startled kitten, avoiding his gaze, not daring to look at him.

This surprised Liam somewhat. Back at the Demon Realm academy, countless demon women flocked to him. Even if he was occasionally neglectful, even if he kicked them away, they wouldn't complain but instead cling closer… Especially those succubi, the most shameless of all.

Thus, since childhood, he had always been this unrestrained and casual with women; it was ingrained in his bones. In the academy, given his noble status, he couldn't stand any woman putting on airs in front of him… Either submit and let him have his way, or get lost.

Just moments ago, with this doe-like obedient girl in his arms, he had merely lowered his voice out of habit, not thinking much of it. He just wanted his little wife to open her mouth obediently. He hadn't expected to frighten her so badly.

He picked up the Tila Ning still pressed against her lips—originally something the picky girl disliked. But after he released her chin, as if afraid of punishment, she lowered her head and began nibbling on it between sobs.

Crunch.

It made it seem like he was forcing her.

In truth, this piece of Tila Ning wasn't the ordinary kind made by elves. Yesterday, using his astonishing comprehension, Liam had thoroughly studied this "little dessert" and made some modifications. Thinking most girls disliked bitterness, he had carefully removed most of the bitter taste. Considering she had just given birth, he had specially added some natural energy that could alleviate fatigue, pain, and enhance mental power, intending it as a porridge-like meal replacement for her.

In his arms…

Celia's soft, fragrant body was tense, accompanied by occasional sobs and slight tremors.

Liam couldn't take it anymore; a strange sense of guilt washed over him. He quickly moved the Tila Ning from her lips and placed it on the plate on the table.

Then, he used the back of his hand, somewhat roughly, to wipe the tear stains from her small face. Next, he meticulously cleaned the food crumbs from the corners of her lips. As he pulled his hand away, a silvery strand of saliva briefly connected them.

Liam pulled the warm girl on his lap closer, softening his tone. "How does it taste?"

Cilia still pressed her lips together, her face wearing an expression of unresolved grievance, eyes red, looking utterly bullied.

"N-Not good…" she said stubbornly.

It was actually delicious. Extremely delicious. Infinitely better than what her mother made.

She just couldn't stand Liam's temper. Wasn't she still… his wife…?

If she were a man, married to a wife as cute as herself… wouldn't he pamper her like a little princess…?

Though she didn't necessarily wish for that.

"With that attitude, are you expecting an apology?" he asked.

"No…" Celia shook her head.

The man's hand gently rested on her lower abdomen, rubbing slowly. "It's already the fourth day. I don't want you to be so afraid of me."

"I've said I'm satisfied with your personality. I genuinely see you as my wife. Otherwise…" He paused.

"Why would I let a mere elf like you bear my children?"

Celia was startled, secretly clutching the hem of his clothes.

"And that aspect of you… is far more pleasurable than those lowly women."

"If I left you, I could easily find many, better replacements. If I wanted, the contract could be dissolved quickly."

"But I haven't done that. Do you understand?"

"Don't think I would harm you in the future. As long as you behave and satisfy me, even if you wanted the stars in the sky, I'd pluck them for you."

Having said this, Liam raised an eyebrow.

…Not that it was really possible. Only here in the Elf tribe, using the crystal orb combined with natural energy, could he achieve such impressive… fecundity.

"Mmm… yes…" Celia nodded blankly.

Liam was a Fifth-Level expert. She didn't expect equality, just that he wouldn't hit her… that was enough.

"So obedient." The man smiled, pinching the exquisite cheek of the girl in his arms as if testing its softness.

He then held her under her arms, turning her on his lap so she was straddling him, facing him.

"If you don't like it, forget it. Later, I'll let you try some delicacies from the Demon Realm. But for now…"

He wrapped his arms around Celia's waist, pulling her closer until they could feel each other's breath.

Celia flustered, her hands unsure where to place them in the face of his sudden dominance. Her previously sorrowful cheeks instantly flushed red.

"While you were asleep, I grew quite thirsty," Liam said, one hand supporting her bottom, the other around her waist, pulling her even tighter.

Celia's hands, which had been hovering awkwardly, were pulled by him between their bodies, pressed against his chest, creating an intimate, nestled posture.

His well-defined, pale face softened into a smile. "But you have worked hard. The pain of laying the egg… I will properly compensate you for it."

"Come, give me a kiss? Help me replenish some fluids?"
