I woke up with a metallic taste in my mouth and the piercing pain in my shoulder.
"Was I dead?" The white ceiling stared at me.
Just then I heard voices…
So familiar.
And the memories came rushing.
The fight was with the men in masks, and the air was poisoned.
OMG!!
Kenneth!!.
Was he able to make it out with my mom and FaeFae? She was about to get up, but the pain struck her once more, and she lay there.
"We're alive, right?" She asked her wolf.
"Yes we survived. He came to your rescue."
"He?" I asked, puzzled.
"Don't you remember when Alpha Drey barged into the room before the masked men fled?"
My memory was foggy, probably due to the poison, just as I was about to get up again.
This time I heard the familiar voice once more clearly right there in the room with her.
"She's been hunted by the Fang for her half-blood."
That was Drey's voice.
I decided to listen more, and with each revelation came a shock, so they weren't just any masked assassin.
