Chapter 2 - School Orientation

Finally settled down in their new house, James had also moved to a high school closer to Silvia's university. It was a week before school started, and they had just woken up. Silvia, who wore her messy silver hair up, quietly shook her brother awake, who was basically a carbon copy of her but in male form. The two siblings were quite beautiful, blessed with their mother's features, even in the small, torn-down room. Their presence made it feel more elevated.

"Wake up, James. It's 8am, and I need to go to university for the orientation." She rubbed her eyes, lifted the blanket they shared, and folded it tightly away.

James grumbled as he woke up. "Morning, sister," he yawned as Silvia stared at the fluffy ball of cuteness struggling to wake up. She hugged him, rubbing his hair, cuddling up to him as he accepted his fate.

They brushed their teeth together and took turns to shower. They each prepared their own breakfast. While not regularly training, Silvia was still used to her healthy meals, eating just simple fruits and oats, as her brother ate his fruits with waffles.

After they got dressed, they made their way out. Silvia dropped her brother off at the city near their house, where he wanted to explore the new place they were going to live in now. "Remember, James, keep your phone on and if anything happens just call me, ok?" Silvia hugged her brother, not wanting to let go. A sullen face and a little sadness, she contemplated whether she should really leave her brother alone. My baby brother is all grown up now. I can't believe he is going to be going out alone from now on, since I can't look after him much due to university.

"Don't worry, sister, I will be fine. I am old enough now." He lightly patted his sister's head. Reluctantly, Silvia let him go pouting as she made her way to her university. Wearing a simple hoodie and gym shorts, she made her way through the entrance, asking for the sign-in location from one of the workers. They gave her a simple look, a bit taken aback by her appearance, and she turned towards the sports building. Silvia was not thinking about it much and just followed her. Silvia had not thought about telling them she was an art student, as she thought the orientation was going to be for everyone.

Still sleepy, she followed the group as they introduced all the sports facilities, not realising anything amiss. While looking around, a lot of eyes were on Silvia, who seemed to stand out even in her simple gym shorts, but she did not seem to notice all the eyes on her. Then the tour guides stated how the facilities were open 24/7 for all students. This perked Silvia's attention a bit. Oh, it's open all day. That could mean I can use the pool at this university and do not have to sign up for a gym, right?

The basic tour of the facility was over as the different departments went to their respective rooms for the main orientation. This was when Silvia realised that something had gone wrong. Finding a student volunteer who bought her here, she grabbed onto his arm, "Excuse me, I think there has been some mistake here."

The guy turned around to see a beautiful face in front of him. Silvia stood there, barely showing any emotion with dull eyes, just ever so slightly creasing her brows, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "S-s-sorry, I did not hear what you said. C-could you repeat it a-again?" The guy was flustered to face such a beauty.

Is this guy alright? Why is he stuttering so much?

"I am a traditional art student. I seemed to have been led to the wrong building for my orientation." A slight sigh as the guy realised the mistake. The way Silvia was dressed made her look like an obvious sports student since the art students were always dressed up, whereas the sports students only wore gym and casual clothes.

"L-let me s-show you the way." he led Silvia towards the exit of the sports building, walking past, she noticed the door towards the pool, she could smell the chlorine as the door was opened and closed, the familiar smell of comfort and distress.

Unable to control her body, she paused as she turned towards the door, standing in front of it without a word. The guy who was guiding her was confused about what was going on. Silvia was a hard person to read, and she barely showed emotion on her face. "Um... s-sorry, Miss... Is there something wrong?"

Silvia did not turn around, reminiscing about the feel of the pool. "Do you have to be a sports student to access the sports facility, or is it available for all students?"

"They are available for all! You j-just have to make sure to register for it! A-are you interested in swimming?" The guy could not help but keep stuttering as he cried to himself, internally unable to keep his composure every time he looked at Silvia.

Silvia nodded, "How do I register for it?" Just as she was asking this question, a guy zoomed in and slammed the door towards the pool open, glaring at Silvia. As quickly as he had arrived, he vanished just as quick. It was just a short glimpse, but Silvia had never seen such a beautiful man before; something about him seemed familiar, too. The black silky hair and the hint of the same minty swimmer shampoo she used to protect her hair. His big build, shoving past the seemingly narrow door next to his body as he made his way inside.

Silvia stared towards the way he had gone without saying anything else. "S-sorry about that! He is one of our new students in the swimming team. H-he is quite the rising star! Anyway, you s-should be able to sign up on the school website with your school login."

Slightly nodding, they continued their path towards the art building. For some reason, Silvia could not get him out of her mind. Where have I seen that man before? A rising star, huh...

She shook her head as if she were removing him from her thoughts. Finally reaching towards the arts building, the guy built up his courage. "M-miss... may I know your name? I would like to be friends with you! I am Haruto Parker, and from the Judo team, 2nd year student!" he held out his hands, shaking a bit, unsure what sort of reply he was going to get.

"Oh, I see. My name is Silvia Elowen, a traditional art student, 1st year." She shook his hand, which seemed quite sweaty, but she did not seem to mind.

"Could I exchange contact details with you? I mean, because we are now friends? I am also a great senior who can help with anything in the sports department since you seem to be interested in using the facilities. I can help with that!" He handed his phone to Silvia, flustered as he scratched the back of his head.

Silvia just nodded casually as she entered her number. "It was good to meet you, Senior Haruto. I should get going, though, now." A slight wave, and Silvia was gone from his sight.

Finally, at the right location, Silvia walked in as she signed up again for the art department, this time, making sure it was the right place. Everyone's eyes were on her, this time more than usual, but she did not seem to notice as she waited for the next group of tourists to start. This should be the right place now. This place looks completely different from the sports building, so much more decorated.

The eyes of the students followed Silvia around, a casually dressed girl who looked like she was going to the gym but had the face of a model. Half the students were wondering if she was wandering in the wrong department, and the other half were in awe of her looks. The silver hair she had looked completely natural on her face, combined with her grey eyes, made her look very fantasy-like, like a person that does not exist in the real world. Walking around with her emotionless face added to her character, making people unable to turn away from her.

"Hey, are you sure you are in the right place?" A girl much shorter than Silvia looked at her with a scrunched-up face, dressed in the latest fashion and trinkets for jewellery. Everything about her screamed an art student as she crossed her arms and looked Silvia up and down.

Silvia just nodded as she faced away and walked along with the group. People were whispering about how she had basically ignored the girl, but Silvia did not really care, she just wanted to get this orientation over and done with so she could go back to her lovely brother.
