Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: System and Applications

Mihon leaned back against the wall, closing his eyes and relaxing his muscles.

He had done it. After all the pain, the trial mission was finally completed.

<> Mihon thought to himself, pleased.

He still held hope that the entity who had reincarnated him here and given him this mission would reward him with something better.

[Rewards:]

[You have gained 3 download points]

[You have gained an E-rank application]

But Mihon frowned instantly. It seemed like his divine god-slaying sword or his SSS-rank ability wouldn't be happening after all.

"Well, I don't know what the odds are. Maybe the phone isn't such a bad idea after all." Trying not to get discouraged, Mihon began checking his rewards.

Unlike last time, this time he could actually interact with the device.

He only had two applications: one called Status and the other Wiki.

"Let's start with Status."

Mihon opened the Status app and was met with a template straight out of a video game character sheet.

[Name: Mihon Drake (Brush Debian)]

[Age: 15]

[Race: Human (Change possible)]

[Magic Affinity: None]

[Unique Skill: ???]

"Oh, I see… just some information…" Mihon read the details carefully, noticing some interesting things.

The first thing he realized was that he shared a surname with the captain of the Third Division, Arthur Debian. "Could we be related? Or is that just a common surname in this world?"

No matter how much he thought about it, he wouldn't find answers now, so he focused on something more interesting.

Apparently, in the future he could change his race from Human, and on top of that, he had a unique skill he still didn't know about. That alone made him a bit excited.

"All right, let's move on." Mihon swiped down the screen, and beneath all the information there was something called Point Distribution, so he decided to check it out.

Another information panel popped up, one Mihon knew even better than the previous one.

[Available Download Points: 3]

[Vitality: 3]

[Strength: 6]

[Magic: 0]

[Speed: 4]

[Defense: 4]

[Luck: 1]

It was a video game profile! Just like in the web novels he had read before.

Mihon couldn't help but feel excited—he could actually level up his stats.

But when he remembered he only had three points to spend, that excitement faded quickly.

"I need to think about how to spend these," he muttered, crossing his arms.

This was one of the toughest decisions, and Mihon knew it well from his experience with web novels.

There were always moments when the protagonist made a dumb choice with their first stat points and ended up making the next stage harder.

Mihon thought for a few seconds, then sighed and tapped the phone screen.

[You have added 2 download points to Vitality]

[You have added 1 download point to Strength]

"This is the best choice," Mihon said with confidence.

His body had suffered severe damage, and to improve his physical condition he needed both vitality and strength.

"I have to admit… I feel better already."

As if by magic, the effects were visible immediately. Mihon's body still ached, but far less than before, and he felt certain he could move faster.

"All right, let's check the next app." Still full of anticipation, Mihon opened Wiki.

The interface resembled an online forum, filled with information about Lazus, the kingdom where Mihon was currently located.

"I see… so this is the information hub." Mihon scrolled through and read a bit.

He learned that the Kingdom of Lazus was one of the three most powerful kingdoms in this world, and the only one where all races coexisted.

He also read about Awakened beings and magic. Apparently, Lazus had several academies where the best talents were trained and nurtured until they became great fighters for the kingdom.

Mihon decided to stop reading for now and closed his eyes. He needed to find a way out of here.

Ding!

His eyes snapped open again as his phone lit up instantly.

[Mission: Escape]

[Escape the well and meet your sponsor]

[Rewards: 7 download points, one S-rank application, one D-rank weapon]

The next mission appeared before his eyes, instantly exciting Mihon.

"An S-rank application!" That was all he could think about, completely ignoring the weapon and download points.

"Wait… but how do I get out of here?" Mihon muttered, a bit troubled.

The system wouldn't give him an impossible mission, but he was in a tight spot.

"Oh, wait… I have this app."

Without wasting time, Mihon opened Wiki again. After a long search, he found information about the well.

According to the records, it was once used as a wishing well, but after the Great War its purpose changed into one of sacrifice and punishment.

But the most interesting part came next—the well was rich in materials with strong magical properties, including electric stones, hinean stones, and the ones that caught Mihon's attention most: destructive stones.

The Wiki stated that destructive stones, when exposed to strong electrical currents, would cause a small explosion—not as powerful as a big one, but exactly what Mihon needed.

He already had the electric stone; now he just needed to find the other. Without hesitation, he grabbed his improvised pickaxe and began mining.

Minutes passed, then hours. Thanks to his increased stats, Mihon could mine faster and took several breaks to recover.

Hunger gnawed at him, so he searched the nearby corpses, but found nothing edible—and he wasn't yet desperate enough to eat human flesh.

So he forced himself to endure it and kept swinging his arms

"I've got it."

Fourteen hours had passed since Mihon began mining. Thanks to his rest periods, the strain felt lighter.

In his right hand was a destructive stone—he confirmed it by comparing it to the image on his phone.

"It's time to get out of here."

Without hesitation, Mihon walked to the right side of the well and placed both stones next to each other so they could react.

"They need stimulation," Mihon muttered, picking up a larger rock and striking the electric stone.

The electric stone quickly began transferring energy into the destructive stone, which started to vibrate.

Mihon retreated as far as he could, watching the scene unfold.

Bam!

A loud blast echoed as the entire lower right side of the well collapsed.
