Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 - The World with Labels

Wu Feng blinked, his eyes heavy, like they had been carrying stones. A long breath slipped out of him slow, easing some weight off his chest.

The storm that had been crashing in his head finally went quiet. No pounding. No spinning. Just still.

He didn't think about who he was before, or what kind of life he had lost. None of that mattered now. The only thing in his head, the only thing that pushed his body to keep moving, was to find a way out. To find the path that would lead him out of this cursed place.

Right now, only one thing stayed clear — he had to live. He had to find a way out of this pit.

He pulled himself back to the present. Right now, he only cared about one thing — escaping, saving his own skin.

But to escape, he needed to figure out this class thing.

There was too much he didn't know. Too many questions. What would happen next? What could this world throw at him? It was only his first day waking up here, and already it felt like everything was upside down.

He felt it was enough time wasted. He threw useless thoughts aside.

First things first — he wanted to understand the class. Which had to come before anything else.

"Enough, playing with System, Wu Feng focus... focus..."

"So… this is my class, hmmm..."

But as he looked around, something felt different. The tunnel was still dark and wet.

Only the faint glow from the magic ore and the small light from the torch were lighting the place. But to him, everything looked clear now.

It was like the darkness didn't exist anymore. Where there was no light, his eyes were filling it in by themselves.

Where the torch was bright, his sight was adjusting so it didn't blind him. His eyes were seeing things they had never seen before.

He didn't know how he was doing it — but it felt natural to him, like breathing.

His face lit with happiness and excitement. This was his skill, [Vital Scan].

But even now, his instinct kept bugging him. This wasn't the full power of the skill. There was more to it. It hadn't shown its real strength yet.

So he narrowed his eyes and tried to focus, to see what this skill could really do.

And it worked. His eyes stopped on the pickaxe lying on the ground.

A glowing red screen floated in front of him.

[Item: Pickaxe]

[Grade: Common]

[Description: Used to gather ore from the mine]

[Physical DMG: 5]

[Durability: 15/15]

[Special Effects: None]

[Scaling: Strength]

[Bonus Set: None]

He stared at it, shocked. "What… is this?".

He waved his hand through it, but nothing happened. It wasn't solid — more like an image burned into his mind. With a thought, he made it vanish. When he focused again, it appeared.

"So it works the same as that System screen."

"I can make this info screen, appear and disappear through my mind."

Curious to find out more about this skill, he looked at the fire torch on the wall.

A new screen appeared.

[Item: Fire Torch]

[Grade: Common]

[Magic DMG: 4]

[Description: Burns with a steady flame. Used for light.]

[Durability: 15/15]

[Special Effects: Apply Burn on Enemy]

He could feel his heart beating fast, like he'd just run. Right away, his eyes went to the magic ore in the wall.

Another screen flashed:

[Item: Magic Ore]

[Grade: Rare]

[Description: Contains magical energy. Use in crafting magical items.]

His heart was beating fast. Everything he looked at came with details.

It was like the whole world had labels now.

"This… this is crazy," he laughed aloud.

There was so much to take in and understand about his class, but there were no clear answers.

After testing it a bit, he learned a few things — how to call the system, how to hide it, and what his skill, [Vital Scan], could do.

But this was only the start. More questions filled his mind.

Wu Feng sat down on a rock, leaning forward with his elbow on his knee and his hand under his chin.

He didn't have any memories, didn't know how to use magic, and didn't even know how to hold a sword or how people fight here.

"Does everyone… have a system? Does everyone have a class?"

"What did stats really mean?"

"What a shrine?"

"What scaling do?"

Before he could think any deeper, a loud bell rang. The sound bounced hard off the tunnel walls, shaking through the ground and into his chest.

Ding!

Ding!

The slaves around him stopped what they were doing and let their tools fall. Their movements were slow, empty, like they weren't really alive.

One by one, they started walking back toward the big round hall. Looked like the shift was over.

Down here, no one knows if it was day or night. The bell was the only thing that told them when to work and when to rest.

As Wu Feng stood, his eyes moved over the workers — and his skill triggered on its own.

Red screens flashed over every person.

[Race: Human]

[Condition: Severe Malnutrition]

[Injury: Broken Ribs — Untreated]

[Status: Infection Spreading — High Fever]

[Stamina: 5/20]

[HP: 5/100]

[Effect: Wither — HP Draining]

His chest felt tight. He didn't even try to scan them — it just happened, like breathing. And what he saw made his stomach twist. Broken bones. Fevers. Heartbeats that were too slow, too weak… he could see everything that was wrong with that Slave.
