Vanessa woke up with a splitting headache. For a moment, she simply let herself breathe through it, not even bothering to open her eyes. Then, she smiled. It had been some time since she had slept so peacefully. She rubbed her cheek against the pillow.
Unexpectedly, the pillow under her cheek was very comfortable and warm and slightly firmer than the too soft ones that usually existed in the hotels. Then the pillow moved. She frowned. Was this some kind of an AI pillow that moved to put a person to sleep. She had heard about such technology being developed.
Then, she felt a hand on top of her head. Her eyes snapped open. Then, she blinked. And blinked again.
