"Wait, why does this shell look just like... a magic bomb?" Betty was absolutely certain about what she was seeing, and she turned to look at Ren.
"The way I see it, the scenarios a magic power railgun needs to handle are basically the same as magic bombs plus catapults—just needs to be more accurate. If we can get longer range and more power, that's even better, but the core scenario stays the same."
Ren smiled. "Don't you think this approach makes way more sense than just firing off spells directly?"
The magic power railgun was basically an upgraded catapult that could accurately launch super powerful magic bombs that would then explode right on target. Pretty much perfect.
If they wanted better range, they could add stronger propulsion to the magic railgun, or slap some runes on the shells to make them lighter, or help them cut through the air better, or whatever else. Didn't really matter.
