Bruce called out his system and laid his eyes on the single yet overpowered skill of his Ex-class… Godly Heal.
[GODLY HEAL]
[Every damage, poison, curse, or corruption that touches you fails only once unless you will otherwise.
As long as you possess enough mana, you can heal from all damage.
After you heal from it, your body remembers, adapts, and becomes permanently resistant.
The more you're injured, the closer you become to absolute invincibility.]
---
Bruce smiled upon seeing this skill description.
A simple yet versatile and overpowered skill… Doesn't this mean that as long as I'm not finished in one hit in any fight, I'm practically immortal?
Bruce couldn't help but grin wildly to himself. His excitement was understandable. Finally, after waiting for so long, he had obtained his own skill and system. And not just any skill — an Ex-ranked skill. From what he knew so far, Ex was above SSS.
During his days of researching mana, he had longed for his own system, skill, and class. Not only would it have helped in his research, but it would also feel nice to have his own superpower. And now, he had finally gotten it — even if it was in another world. Convenient? Sure. But so what? Who cared? Certainly not him.
Sighing, he shook off the distracting thoughts in his mind.
My condition is deteriorating fast with each passing second…
Focusing on his body once more, he spoke in a cold voice.
"Heal."
---
[Heal has been recognized as the phrase to activate the Godly Heal skill of your Godly Heal class.]
[Congratulations. You have used your skill for the first time.]
---
In an instant, the poison was purged from his body, his flesh restored to peak condition.
[You have gained complete immunity to Poison Fang poison.]
[You have acquired minor resistance to all poisons.]
[Notice: Damage to the brain has erased stored memories.]
[The brain has been fully restored. You are now immune to memory loss.]
[You have gained the trait: Photographic Memory.]
---
"Phew…" Bruce let out a low exhale as the weakness in his body and the cloudiness in his mind instantly disappeared.
But his mana… it was almost depleted, leaving only a sliver left. A slight wave of mana-drain fatigue struck him.
'Sigh, it must be because I'm still F-rank. My mana pool is too small right now, I guess,' Bruce thought.
'I don't know the rank-up system of this world. It would be nice if it's like the rank-up system of Sung Jin-Woo… but I doubt it. More likely it's like the cultivation ranks from manhwas and novels I've read.'
Bruce sighed again, his mind blank.
Even though the Godly Heal had restored his poisoned, corroded brain to peak condition, the memories of the previous owner of this body were still gone. He knew the chances of recovering them were extremely slim.
Currently, apart from his name — Bruce — which he had overheard from the jeers around him, he knew nothing else.
"Sigh, whatever." He gave up thinking about it.
'There's no use worrying about all that now. When i reach the river, I cross it.'
Right now, what he wanted most was for the jeers to continue. After all, it was his only chance to gather information about who the "past him" was. He needed as much info as possible.
And fortunately, they did continue. After all, Everyone was surprised to see him stand up casually after slumping to the ground during the Awakening Ceremony. Still, they laughed, not even bothering to hide their disgust for him.
Shrugging, Bruce proceeded to dust the dirt off his clothes.
He listened carefully, but unfortunately, despite waiting for a while, he still didn't get any information he needed. The jeers were all just insults.
While the insults didn't bother him, he wasn't calm either. After all, he really needed to get some info.
'Knowing nothing about this world… what the fuck am I supposed to do after this ceremony? Do I have a family here? Or was I an orphan? Do I have a friend… a lover? I need info. Anything. Absolutely anything related to me or this world will do…'
And with everyone being so against him right now, he wasn't sure he'd get that information if he asked nicely. That much was obvious.
A wicked smile spawned on his lips. 'My situation isn't completely hopeless yet. I can always choose to ask someone the hard way once this is over.'
As a surgeon, he could think of countless torture methods — and none of them were pleasant. But the problem was… he had no weapon and no attack skill. While he was pretty much overpowered, what fun would there be if he just sat around waiting to get attacked all the time?
But still like he said before he isn't completely hopeless.
'No attack skill? Then I'll just create one myself. At least I still have my past life's memories. If I put in the effort, I can create class-related skills…'
The thought made him smile.
But then, he suddenly felt a warm hand pat his back before sliding around him in a gentle embrace.
"Bruce~"
A soft, feminine voice called out beside him.
He turned to look, genuinely surprised that someone would stand this close to him despite all the hate directed his way — and a girl, no less.
When his eyes landed on her, he was stunned.
She had a mature, alluring beauty — a slender, well-toned body, short black hair, piercing red eyes, and soft, full ref lips. Lips that were practically begging to be kissed.
She locked eyes with him for a brief moment before lowering her gaze to his clothes.
"What happened, Bruce? Did anyone touch you while I was away?" Her voice was soft, but her gaze turned cold as it swept across the crowd.
It was then Bruce noticed — the jeers had stopped. The once mocking voices were gone. The entire place had fallen silent, as quiet as a graveyard, the very moment she appeared.
'Just who is this girl?!'
